Nielsen 6'7 311
Parliment 6'4 313
Riorden 6'5 302
Linder 6'6 294

Anyone know if they all project into a starting 5, as in, two are projected to be tackles, two guards, and a center?

Some big boys in this freshman (sorry 1st year class). Withers 6'3 329, Nielsen 6'7 311, Parliment 6'4 313, Riorden 6'5 302
I like the size too. As to classification I think we will still use freshman through senior. When they get to that fifth year we will refer to the players as fifth year seniors just like we always have with players who took a redshirt year. The new rule just throws redshirt out the window.

Just going by the roster in the link. players are now listed (on the Iowa website) as 1st, year, 2nd year etc.. Its obvious the "class" they are in school no longer has any effect on how the program classifies them. You are 1st year thru 5th year player now.

Thanks for the update as as I haven't looked at the roster. I thought freshman through fifth year senior seemed simpler. But I can get used to the new way of classification. I do like the five to play five rule much better and it seems so much more sensible.

I am salivating at the thoughts of our running backs and tight ends this season. on quarterbacks, not so much.
