Not sure which is sweeter, dispatching Jax or Zahid.

There was a point in match two where I watched him say “ I don’t wanna be here any more “ … now I only wrestled in high school and I was terrible … but I know what I saw .. to see that from a world champion was mind blowing … discus

Thank you Mr. Pickel anytime I see a post with Lewans name in it I start falling asleep.
I think someone should apply to the FDA to have video of Will Lewan matches approved as a non-narcotic sleep aid. I’ve already written the jingle:

Watch Will Lewan tonight and sleep
Safe and restful sleep, sleep, sleep

Thanks for the play-by-play. I definitely did not have Dake and Green as world team members on my bingo card. Great to hear that Blaze was more aggressive in the 3rd match and pulled it out. I've been a pretty vocal critic of his chances in this historically stacked weight class for the U.S; the young man is freaking good. I always viewed Levi a lot like Starocci, an NCAA/folkstyle all-time great who likely did not have a successful international/freestyle career in his future. Boy was I wrong. He's looking - again - like one of the best guys in the world, regardless of weight class, at 21. Shows how good of a wrestling talent prognosticator I am.

Some weird things that we are seeing... Several years ago it seemed if a call was going to go one way or another it fell our way.. I'd say 55%-60% of the time. We could be imagining it but it seems we're hovering around the 45% mark of the judgement calls now.

I think Dake takes it to 3, Carr definitely can too. Luke could but just can’t give up a single td.

Agree on Levi—I was worried about the Chance matchup as recently as 2pm today, but much less so now. He is a master at adjustments but you can’t fix a broken gas tank so quickly.
Just scrolling through the day after to see who got it right, and it was Nerf bravely calling a Dake comeback after a first-round loss.

Great point. For those who complain about Marcus not taking more shots against Jax, that sequence was a great illustration of how dangerous Jax's counter game is. At this level, especially against someone as funky and talented as Jax, caution is warranted. Marcus taking three of the last four matches against Jax is very impressive. I can't help but believe that getting to regularly train with Ono has really benefited Marcus.
LOL many times 1 or 2 points wins in FS!

Blaze did mention this, after the fact. Otherwise, we would never have known. As pointed out earlier, Blaze's performance at NCAAs was pretty consistent with what we saw all season.
I absolutely love all the Penn St wrestlers, but I think I am most pumped/jazzed about Marcus Blaze. He is singularly focused and a really good ambassador for the skool

Speaking of Ono, he was there for the event and slipped into a seat a few rows in front of us sometime during the second round. Many photos and autographs ensued.
Sorry if this has been posted previously, but is Ono wrestling for Japan in the World Wrestling Championships?
