125kg Round 1: Wyatt Hendrickson vs. Mason Parris

The match is underway at 2:09 p.m. ET. Hendrickson immediately rushes Parris and gets a quick stepout for a 1-0 lead. Major explosion by Hendrickson off the whistle.

Off the restart Parris tried to dump Hendrickson but Parris fought it off but not before Hendrickson earned another stepout to lead 2-0. There is some kind of issue at the scorers table that is in the midst of being resolved. It's like the team trials all over again!

Alright, we're back to action. It's 2-0 Hendrickson at the 5:19 mark of the match. Parris drops on a single, trips him, and gets a takedown for two and a 2-1 lead with 4:57 to go. Stalemate is called at 4:42.

Parris is in on a single but Hendrickson counter shots for two and two to take a 6-2 lead and then a stalemate is called at 4:15.

Back to action and they're neutral at 4:00. Parris drops on a single and is trying to get a takedown but Hendrickson has an ankle. Parris eventually gets two exposure to make it 6-4. Parris nearly had a pin locked up but Hendrickson rolled through.

Hendrickson leads 6-4 at the break.

Hendrickson leads 6-4 at the break.

BREAK ENDS

The second period is underway. Parris shoots but Hendrickson fends it off. They're neutral at 2:25, Parris shoots, Hendrickson fneds off, Parris shoots on the edge and they rule a takedown for Parris on the edge to make it 6-6. However, Hendrickson's corner immediately challenged, seemingly thinking Parris went out of bounds unnecessarily before starting the attack. Replay shows that Hendrickson is probably going to win. He does. That makes it a step out for Hendrickson.

The correct score is now 7-4 Hendrickson with 1:55 to go as they restart neutral. Hendrickson is in on a leg right off the whistle, Parris spins back in and is trying to get his ankle free for a takedown, and he gets it to make it 7-4. However, Hendrickson's corner is challenging again, as they wanted two exposures for Hendrickson as Parris was spinning through. Back to review we go. After review, it's two exposures for Hendrickson and one reversal for Parris.

The correct score is now 9-5 Hendrickson with 1:23 to go as they restart from neutral. There is no more scoring from there (sorry, my feed somehow got way behind).

125kg round one final: Hendrickson d. Parris, 9-5

70 kilogram round one: Zain Retherford vs. Ridge Lovett

The match is underway. The pair come together and there is a quick stoppage eight seconds in. The action is back underway. Retherford has a tie from neutral but the action is stopped at 5:14. Back to work at 0-0 as both wrestlers jockey for positioning during the first minute. Lovett throws in an underhook and almost picks up Retherford but he fends it off and then the same sequence plays out and Lovett drives Retherford off the edge for a 1-0 lead at 4:30.

They're back to action now but Retherford gets a passivity warning to stop the action. Lovett had one earlier, by the way. We're at the 4:00 mark still neutral with Lovett leading 1-0. Retherford drops in on a double and Lovett grabs an ankle as Retherford tries to work his way around and he finally does or a 2-1 lead with 3:30 to go. Action stopped at 3:24 with Lovett leading 2-1.

It's 2-1 Retherford at the break.

Will Chance challenge that? Maybe initiated back exposure on the counter? Looks like no.

Edit: and now they say Chance thought he was give the 2 and it’s too late to challenge

Haines leads Marstellar 2-1 at the break

BREAK ENDS

Marstellar looks a bit tied as he walks back to center. Period two is underway. Marstellar requests a stoppage four seconds in for something. Not sure but we're back to action. Marstellar shoots but Haines fends it off. Rinse and repeat at the 2:00 mark. Now Haines drops on a single and works his way around for a takedown and a 4-1 lead with 1:48 to go. Stalemate is called with Haines trying to work for a turn. Marstellar is pointing to his ribs and is asking for the trainer to come out. He's now being tended to with Haines leading 4-1 with 1:41 to wrestle. Marstellar looks to be in either a lot of pain, exhaustion, or both, but he will continue. We're back underway. It's the left ribs Marstellar is pointing to. Stoppage now at 1:31. Looks to be a clock issue now. It was. There's now 1:30 to wrestle.

We're back underway. They trade shots but neither gets home. Haines reattacks off a shot and grabs Marstellar's ankle and gets a takedown to go up 6-1 with 50 seconds left. Stalemate at :38. Marstellar slow to get up again. Back underway and now under :20. No more scoring.

Haines beats Marstellar 6-1 in round one at 79 kilograms

Just an FYI -- Going to take a full PBP break on Green/Carr but will post a summary at the end.
I don't blame you.

Snyder is on the main board talking about a loaded BBQ and we have been talking ribs. I need some food!

On a serious note, I hope Chance is ok....but it doesn't sound like it.

It didn't look good, that's for sure. I'd have to watch the replay but I think on the one takedown Haines landed pretty hard on top of him, which is when the left rib issue seemed to appear. We'll see what he looks like in round two, but unless he turns into a combo of The Hulk and Hulk Hogan over the next 2.5 hours, he isn't beating this version of Haines, and that hypotehtical version of Marstellar might not either.

74kg round one: James Green vs. David Carr

Green takes a 1-0 lead on a step out. That's the only point of the first period.

Green gets one and one early in the second for a 3-0 lead. He restarts in par terre but there is no scoring. Carr ends up getting two on the edge as he drives Green out and Green is down on his back right in front of the scorers table and the trainers are attending to him. It's 3-2 Green with 1:08 left as the trainers continue to look at Green. They finally did restart, and a big scramble led to a 5-3 Green lead via a Green exposure and Carr reversal, and that's the final. But, Carr's corner is challenging. Challenge is lost.

74kg round one: Green wins round one 6-3.
