The Iran conflict affects everything you are trying to point to. It will end soon enough and I'll be watching to see if you give Trump credit for what he has accomplished.

Yes. We took a hit. But in the end it will be worth it. Trump did what those before him were scared to do. Trump has made the world safer by confronting Iran and he has made us safer by shutting down Biden’s open borders. It’s going to get better. Someone had to fix this and thank God Trump had the guts to do it.

Now we need to shut down sanctuary cities and put the cartel in check. Trump is doing the dirty work all others were afraid to do. Obama and Biden strengthened our adversaries, increased crime and put a chokehold on our Healthcare.

Sit back and watch. Be patient. America was in deep decline when Trump took over.
Well said. I am all for a safer world and cities. I’m all for abolishing DEI and wokeness. I am all for secure borders. I am all for many of the actions taken by this administration. And I have stated that many times but I am continually labeled a Comi-Leftist because it’s convenient and easy to do so because it fits THEIR extremist agenda. I am a moderate. I vote for who I feel is the best person to run this country and maintain its values. Had Biden remained in the election, I would have voted for Trump. After that last debate, there was no possible way I could have voted for Joe. He was gone, it was over. Thankfully I was given an alternative. Not a great alternative but the lesser of two bad alternatives.

I hate the daily lies. I hate the double-standards. I hate the continuous “Better Than Biden” rhetoric. I hate how he has insulted our allies and isolated us in this world. I hate the way he has mistreated Americans who disagree with him and violates their First Amendment Right to protest peacefully, yet pardons criminals and vile vandals who injured police officers, threatened lawmakers with violence, and damaged the Capital.

if he simply acted more like the President of the United States, an International Statesman, the LEADER of the Free-World, and less like a petulant child, a dictator, a compulsive liar, and mob boss, I would be behind him. Unfortunately, I don’t see that happening. Hopefully 2028 provides us with several BETTER alternatives.

I agree on acting more presidential, but that just isn't Trump. His mouth causes him more trouble than he needs, but what he's doing for us outweighs the negativity brought by his mouth.

Marco Rubio would be a very good choice next go around.

Specifically what foreign polices of Trump's have failed? Tariffs were working until lawsuits shut most of them down.

Our foreign policies before Trump made us a world-wide laughing stock. We were getting screwed by everyone. We were being taken advantage of.

The left was destroying our energy sources and our military while our adversaries were being enriched and their militaries were being strengthened. Iran was getting ever close to having nuclear warheads and the policies before Trump were helping Iran achieve that.

When were our foreign affairs better than they are now? Yes, military force and wars are terrible, but sometimes they are necessary.
The Iran war is a foreign policy failure. It was a war of choice driven by the belief that we could achieve a quick victory. That assumption has proven wrong. The timeline shifted from two weeks, to four to six weeks, to essentially “don’t put a timeline on me.”

And what strategic objectives have actually been accomplished? Unconditional surrender? No. Regime change? No. Despite Trump’s repeated claims that Iran’s military capabilities have been crippled, the reality is more complicated. Several U.S. military bases in the region have become effectively inoperable. Meanwhile, a major focus of negotiations is now reopening the Strait, which was open before the conflict began.

That leaves the nuclear issue. We were told Iran’s nuclear program was effectively destroyed months ago, yet we’re also expected to believe they were only weeks away from building a weapon that posed an imminent threat. I don’t buy it. There is little evidence suggesting otherwise, and Israel has been warning that Iran is “weeks away” for decades.

I’m sure we’ll disagree on these points, and that’s fine. But my views align more closely with Trump’s first-term, when he emphasized avoiding new wars and reducing U.S. involvement in foreign conflicts. You know, America First.

Well, currently, CPI isn't even half as much as Pedo-Joe's high. Also, the conflict with Iran directly impacts CPI. You aren't looking at the big picture and you also refuse to acknowledge the failures that are Democrat policies.

You're looking like a fool. It's almost as if you enjoy that.
1st ... its not "almost " he absolutely enjoys looking like a fool like people wearing purple hair everyday .
2nd he hates Trump taking out another forever talking point or campaign rally cry .. they absolutely cant stand democrats wont be able to run on " we will be tuff on iran or the border " they cant see ( because of tear stained eyes) that having it a little tuff (expensive) short tearm is a billion times better than iran ( religious freaks that run iran ) having a nuclear weapon or a trillion short range/ long range missiles and having total control of the straight.
He definitely needs to think rational and look at the people that will be doing so much better if the reinvestment in American middle class work force is brought back and we remain energy independent.

Oh how quick we forget, especially when you're looking for a reason to bash Trump instead of calling it what it is. TDS.

We'll get through with Iran. Just relax.

When it gets much better under Trump, I fully expect you to be here giving him kudos.

Hatred is no way to go through life.

Good days are on the way...Calm down.

Trump says US-Iran deal will be signed on Sunday, with Strait of Hormuz to reopen

If this happens and iran holds up to it our economy is gonna go cray cray .... hell I might die my hair red and blue..... God has already made it white ..

I just **** on Biden’s economy too… what do we call that? BDS? Typical MAGA NPC response.
Well to be fair Trump left Biden a pretty good economy.
Biden/Harris and every democrat bragged daily on how good their economy was .... Trump keeps saying he is gonna make what we have now better, and what i can see we are on a steady climb up not a rapid roll down . Im extremely hopeful iran is honest and wants to join the world and stop looking for virgins, not all that, and ol' hors are better in bed . If that happens gas drops to 2.50 gallon this economy will be unstoppable without a fauchi and a scam..... ya know like 2020...

You're prematurely bashing Trump. Let's get through the Iran conflict and see what happens. Pedo-Joe sucked *** for four years. Trump's first year was very good and could have been much better, if not for the left's corruption.

Give it a damned chance, for crying out loud.

Just the border alone, beats anything Pedo-Joe did or what Commie-la could have done. And the left is fighting against it tooth and nail. Go figure? Why? Do you have an opinion?
Why would democrats fights against doeg? Makes a person wonder .... sorta like cleaning up voter rolls.....

consumer confidence is at all time lows.
It's actually the difference between "Consumer Confidence" and "Consumer sentiment". They're not the same measurements, but you TDS infected Leftists are mixing them trying to prove Trump's economy is a failure.

So for the record "Consumer sentiment" is indeed at record lows. No argument there. Meanwhile, "Consumer confidence"....an entirely different measurement, currently is low, but it's NOT at "all time lows".

An education for you mind number TDS crazed Leftists.

Consumer Sentiment Hits Record Low—Economy Stays Solid

excerpt
Consumer sentiment has dropped to record lows, but the economic outlook isn’t too much worse. The measures of consumer attitudes that are frequently cited in news reports have little independent impact on actual behavior. The Index of Consumer Sentiment, has been published by the University of Michigan since 1952, but has never been as low as the May 2026 level. Both of the major sub components, current conditions and expected conditions, fell. However, the other major survey, the Conference Board’s Consumer Confidence measure, was low but not unusually low.

What the two surveys measure:
Investopedia describes differences between the two surveys: “Many who watch both numbers say that the Conference Board survey tends to be better at picking up on indicators related to the job market and job security, while the Michigan survey is a better measure of pocketbook issues like the price of gasoline.” In May 2026, employment was fine but gasoline prices soared, causing the sharp drop in Consumer Sentiment but no loss in the Consumer Confidence survey.

Here are the actual numbers
US Consumer Confidence Edged Downward in May

excerpt
The Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index® dipped 0.7 points to 93.1 (1985=100) in May, down from an upwardly revised 93.8 in April. The Expectations Index—based on consumers’ short-term outlook for income, business, and labor market conditions—rose by 1.0 points to 74.4. The survey period for this month’s preliminary results was May 1–19, encompassing the ongoing war in the Middle East that is placing upward pressure on prices globally.

As the data show, consumer Confidence is low, but not at "record lows" and today's numbers are likely to change dramatically once current dynamic factors impacting the lower ratings (ie: gasoline and living expenses) adjust to improvements in current economic trends.

What the "consumer sentiment" index measures
U.S. consumer sentiment is at the lowest it has ever been, but what is it?

excerpt
"The Consumer Sentiment Index tries to measure how individuals are feeling about their own personal economies both today and in the future, and then groups those up with the experiences of a bunch of other people to try and generalize what that might mean about the economy," The latest consumer sentiment score is 44.8 — the lowest since the survey started in 1952. That means more people are saying they are struggling financially right now, or worry that they will be in the future, than they did during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Great Recession in 2008 and in the days following 9/11. Increased prices at the pump, the grocery store and retail overall are driving the sentiment slide by making it tough on people to cover everyday expenses.

more

Surveys of Consumers Director Joanne Hsu said that 57% of consumers spontaneously mentioned that high prices were "eroding their personal finances, up from 50% last month. Lower-income consumers and those without college degrees posted particularly strong sentiment declines."

*editor's note
The conference board's "Consumer Confidence" survey is a broader survey of market conditions and trends. It's more reliable predicting economic trends, and as the data above shows, however it's not at "all time lows", and underlying indicators such as business investments and stable incomes are trending upward. The "consumer sentiment" survey is more volatile, and based more on current conditions which are neither long term indicators of future economic performance, nor lasting impressions because they are based on dynamically adjusting conditions.

If Trump successfully negotiates a signed agreement to end hostilities with Iran which then lead to an expansion of world market crude that lowers gasoline prices, then the "consumer sentiment" survey could take a drastic jump in coming months as energy prices lower and economic activity expands as a result. Of course TDS infected Leftists hope that doesn't happen, because it will torpedo one of their chief arguments against Trump and for a Democrat led Congress that can block implementation of his agenda.

Now you understand why these malcontents are hyping the more volatile "consumer sentiment" survey, and would love to see the peace deal with Iran collapse. They know if Trump succeeds in the Middle East, their biggest hope to stop him from completing his so far successful MAGA agenda dies with the radical Mullah's dream of a nuclear armed Iran to terrorize America and threaten Israel's existence.

My prediction: Trump will succeed in disarming Iran, the economy will boom after gas prices come down, and Leftists will be crying in their beer after Trump and the GOP not only hold onto power in the mid terms, but expand their majorities to near veto proof margins.

Leftists upset over losing to Trump again!

Imagine how miserable they are feeling today knowing they've lost again!

Learn something from you? That’s gold
Stay ignorant then. "Consumer confidence" is NOT at "all time lows" (that's what you posted) So you either can't read graphs, or you have no idea what you're talking about because you've been pre-programmed and thoroughly media mind numbed by your puppet masters in the Trump hating legacy media.

Thinking you've learned something from them by mindlessly repeating your chat bot programming is not only laughable, it's downright comical.

@ChucktownWillie ...trying to remember what he's been programmed to repeat

I said all I need to say about this in post #131 (which included your graph btw) As a bonus I offered my own analysis in editor's notes...if you want my opinion, it's all right there.

What I will never hear from you nor anyone else on the media mind numbed Left, is better policies or proposals to improve on our "Consumer sentiment" or "Consumer confidence" surveys.

I believe and have posted that both will improve dramatically after Trump completes his policy objectives in the Middle East vis-a-vis Iran. Right now all the Democrat party has is rudderless Socialism. What else do you or your loser party have? Name a popular "moderate" in the Democrat party who can win a national election? Your party is drifting towards radical Socialists and those are your leading candidates. Vote for them.

No **** that’s where I pulled it from. The whole point is it’s following a similar trend line compared to Biden, which was the whole point of the original discussion. Both parties are ****. Our government is ineffective but you losers can’t help yourselves with your tribalistic BS.

I proved you are either hopelessly mind numbed brainwashed (not knowing the difference between "consumer confidence" or "consumer sentiment") and pointed out your error, which you admitted to making by saying one thing but meaning the other. Then you compounded your own admitted error by trying to suggest you actually knew the difference between the 2, but STILL chose to post the wrong graph trying to make your point. :ROFLMAO:

Sometimes, it's best just to admit your error, or that you've been thoroughly exposed as a mind numbed chat bot. Trying to accuse me of being "brainwashed" when I'm the one who pointed out your error which you admitted to, is either arrogance or continued stupidity to the 8th power (which is very, very, very, very ,very, very, very, very stupid)

Well maybe I am...however I picked the right graphs to make my points, I correctly pointed out their differences, and I offered my own independent analysis on how both will be impacted in the immediate future by success of Trump's current Middle East policies.

You however not only picked the wrong graph trying to attack Trump, you didn't understand the differences to the point you were trying to make, you admitted your error, (choosing the incorrect graph) but you're still whining that someone else pointed out you were dead wrong suggesting "consumer confidence is at all time lows".

Pay attention over the next few months to the "consumer sentiment" index, and the "consumer confidence" survey. Both will be markedly improved by the end of Summer, and then you can tell us what policies from your loser Democrat party will give us better numbers?

I suspect we won't be hearing anything from you though, or any of the rest of you whinny Trump hating Leftists.

Make sure you understand what point you're trying to make next time you decide to repeat your pre-programmed Trump hating talking points. If you mean to point out "consumer sentiment" is all time lows, don't pick the "consumer confidence" survey to make your point! That's sounds like you've been pre-programmed and actually don't have a clue of what you're talking about.

This will be my final post. I purposely referenced the consumer confidence as an additional data point to further illustrate that Trump and Biden’s economy are both ****, which again was the whole point of the original discussion. That seems to continue to go over your head.
I voted for Trump, who did you vote for?

He voted for me!

Yes he did Kamala...that's why you lost and he's a loser! :ROFLMAO:

Why don’t you tell me what this graph shows?

Conflict with Iran is what it shows. Do you see what it was doing in Trump’s first term, despite the left's interference, crazy impeachments based on lies and corruption? Let's get through this conflict and things will get a lot better. For now, enjoy the closed borders and exposed fraud on taxpayers.

Patience, my fellow American.

Exactly @30CAT . As I tried to explain in my analysis in post #131, once Trump settles this Middle East conflict, I expect to see both consumer confidence & consumer sentiment improve, along with energy prices, manufacturing expansion, and a host of other economic indicators that are already solid, to trend upward!

This actually terrifies the America hating anti Trump Left. The last thing they want to see is our economy making a dramatic recovery because of Trump's successful management of Peace in the Middle East, or Trump domestic policies strengthening energy production and job creation.

I keep saying it, they have NOTHING better in terms of effective policies to offer. Zero, Zippo, Zilch, Nada. So they nit pick over a volatile economic indicator like the "consumer sentiment index" hoping that sets their narrative that Trump's policies are failing. Leftists have failed, not Trump's policies.

Watch how many of them go silent as these variables turn positive after this Peace deal with Iran is signed. You won't see any of them either congratulating Trump, or happy for America. They will instead be complaining that it was too costly, too risky, too ineffective, or unnecessary...but you will NOT hear what they offer as a better plan?

It tells me Trump had consumer confidence at an extreme high, then COVID hit and people thought coming out of it that it would return to normal. Then came Biden and it just dropped and dropped. Through Trump’s first year and half, it’s remained stagnant with some ups and downs.

You made a good point about Iran being a self inflicted wound. It has to end for confidence to resume. Once that happens, it’ll rebound. Basically, as soon as gas prices drop, the world will be safer and confidence at home will be restored.

AWESOME! JD Vance just DROPPED this message to every single American, after President Trump stuns the world with the Iran deal: "Thank you. Because of your patience, I think that we've solved the problem that has plagued this country again for well before I was even BORN, which is a terrorist supporting Iran that was pursuing a nuclear weapon." "We are now at a place here where we can stay with confidence. They're not going to get a nuclear weapon."

Typical Leftist reaction over news of a Trump negotiated Peace deal in the Middle East with Iran.

It's OK miserable Lefties...at least you won't have to worry about getting "nuked" by an Islamic bomb! ;)

We shall see. Even prior to the war in Iran, it was following a similar progression as to what we saw during the Biden administration.

Regardless, I could give two ***** about this specific data point or any specific economic metric, and the larger argument was more about the cumulative which isn’t much different compared to Biden. FWIW, I hope we return to pre COVID levels across the board. That’s what I voted for.
