Is that some blue smoke or .... ?? Where there's blue smoke, maybe it's a big blue fire ???
The more I hear, the more I'm thinking ... it all looks better for Pope, regardless if he reclasses or not.
But the more I think about it .... we have one roster spot left.... if he reclasses, he's under no pressure to start, but as the #6 prospect, you definitely want to add him to the roster and he can become a 2 year player NOW, having plenty of time this year to show his true value here. It would be a luxury that might be a big addition. He might get some PT if he can prove he belongs in practice with our guys. I'm gooooood with adding him to this roster.
Either way, it's great and a much better sign, seeing Pope and everyone saying whiff whiff whiff, and he's still at it, right there looking forward, making correct decisions and good moves. Finally giving me some restored faith in his being a smart guy. He's smarter than me.
If what his dad and he himself have said ... money and playing time are most important .... and that he said he wasn't going to reclass. That Kentucky, LSU and sMu are at the top of his list, with UNC , kansas, baylor, USC ... also coming in now. He wants to stay in his class.
And actually, it's probably best for Kentucky, because he could be a great incoming player next eyar, and hopefully a good foundation with him for next season. I also don't think they were ever really thinking or asking him to reclass, however.
So it's all good either way.
