Love how he was so adamant about “it’s not about the money” but clearly his decision will be based financially and it seems as if the holdup is over, you guessed it, the biggest payday. People also gotta realize that it’s gotta be a red flag for a guy that’s a 50% 3 pt shooter to not get draft guarantees, so clearly he’s been told he has to improve other aspects of his game that just weren’t there. Great shooter, not much else to give.
I have stayed away from bashing Coach Pope publicly on the internet out of respect for UK, Pope and UK Basketball in general.
For me, there are still some lines we need in society and using fake names to post on the internet has given the least able to feel mightly.
But this recruitment of this kid after all that with the last one who punked UK, I will not openly bash the coach but this has definitely gotten concerning.

I understand the frustration which we all share, but I have never heard or seen video of Momcilovic saying he would decide by a certain date. Media folks who get paid to be "insiders" post that, but they have all been wrong across the board on almost every recruit, so why should we believe this kid ever said he was making a decision asap?

agreed. even if he lands milan, pope needs to demonstrate he can land higher end talent that is a requirement for the job. if he exits the summer with zero players.....its just impossible to continue to manage a roster like this every year without an influx of talent

I am not the least bit emotional about Pope. I would not advocate firing any coach after two seasons with all the given circumstances regardless of name or their connection to our program. You are the one with all the hatred for him. The other coaches aren't dealing with players who have the same level of opportunity to make their own deals marketing themselves which JMI apparently is interfering with. You do not have enough information to be definitively declaring the JMI impact as none.
