Mark Pope is the worst thing to ever happen to UK basketball.
Is this gonna be another McBride situation? Never the first option with Pope, always a panic to Pivot.
It likely commits the school to 2 years. But I haven't seen a situation where the athlete is locked out of the portal or the NBA. I haven't read if any buyouts, which would logically flow from actual 2 way contracts.

I have seen no correlation between "length of time recruited by Pope" and "likelihood to commit to Pope".
At the end of the day Pope knows that if he doesn't land this one it's probably a wrap.. The hole has officially become too deep. If he was running a business the Board would be searching for a new leader.
