While it is not the kind of mark you want to make it is still better than a first round loss or worse yet missing the tournament all together. It’s the worst blowout in the tournament since 1972.

They both absolutely suck. It’s the worst blowout in the tournament since 1972.
I love bullet points. Not gonna lie. I add them whenever possible.I think your bullet points are cautiously optimistic and I do not argue with them. Like you, I am hoping for the best in an injury-free season. But, having said that, do you see this team, as currently constructed, being better, worse or about the same as last year's team ?? With better balance in scoring, I can see them maybe a little better, but I think we still need a quality back-up Center, a powerful rebounder and another super-legit shooter. Defensively, I'm not sure what to think right now.
Hold up. How do say not specifically me when you are directly talking to me? lol. Kinda **** is that?Lol...not you specifically. It's all the anons and other trolls who keep getting banned and then create new accounts instantly to start being miserable again. I actually don't ever recall seeing your username before you replied to me, but I responded to you because you replied to me. I may have unjustly lumped you in that group. And that group is clearly ruining the board for anyone trying to have a legitimate conversation. If you can't see that then you either don't come here at least once a week or only look at the pictures.
There is significant space between "everything is perfectly fine" and a gamma ray burst destroying all life on Earth. You wanna know who really hates UK? Those who act like everything is perfectly fine with this program. Those who are ok with the subpar that has been put on the floor under Pope. Y’all really hate UK because you would rather them be mediocre than strive for greatness.
If I hire someone with no history of accomplishment and a thin track record I would not be fool enough to think there would be no set backs or learning curve.Another narrow minded poster who unfortunately can't discern what nuance means. Let me help you with this analogy.
If you owned a business and you hire a guy who is supposed to take care of sales/operations. But your hire is not bringing in clients to sustain your business, your clients are leaving because you can't fulfill your clients needs. Do you still keep your hire on or let him go? (5 bucks says, you won't answer this question)
Did you know that you can support something and still disagree? Or are you a blind follower in everything with no thought of your own?
Your opinion is not fact. And a lot of what you think is right, has no verifiable evidence to suggest you have any idea what you're talking about. No one knows how Hawthorne will play. He is a massively unknown. Kam, has the ability to be a good player, but can he be consistent to a degree the team needs from him?
You say you know ball, but can you show me proof that Pope can develop players? Can you show me how having Lowe would have progressed the team from last year? Why do you think we have excellent players on this years roster, can you elaborate on that? Telling me they're good is an opinion. I want to see if you actually know ball.
I never said it was way better but it is true and it is somewhat better and not an all time low.I get what you're saying about tied for seventh. But for whatever reason the record book will forever say 9th.
Saying we were tied for 7thin the SEC like that's way better is crazy.
The other fan bases cannot approach the volume from our sheer numbers and some of our fans make Cowboys yahoos seem tame and kindly at times.I really do not feel UK's base is any different than other large fanbases. I would encourage others to view teams boards after their losses and you will find it's not much different than the crazy stuff you see on here. If UK doesn't know how to combat that, I don't know what to say. Just search any school's board or scroll through social media and you will see it all.
Replying to you but not talking about you, I worded the first reply lumping you in with the others out of habit. As said previously,it wasn't justified. I'm used to same small group of posters spewing bs, on their 100th soon to be banned account. I apologize for including in that group .Hold up. How do say not specifically me when you are directly talking to me? lol. Kinda **** is that?
Yes it is somewhat better lolI never said it was way better but it is true and it is somewhat better.
At Kentuckys lowest we are still talked about more than R kansasKentucky blows…
Did us a favor. The our AD turned around and fked us good. Even as bad as we make Pope seem....him and Cals record are almost identical the last two years.Y’all mad cal left yall. Cal the brand not Kentucky lol
Exactly, we are UK"We are UK" no longer holds any more weight than "We are Vandy", or We are Texas," or "We are Indiana". Nil has made blueblood status inconsequential unless we become the Dodgers or Yankees and have the wealthiest donors.
I don't know how we plan to compete in the long term with Mark Cuban, the Longhorn Foundation, or $90 million in anonymous donations to Vanderbilt athletics. IU football proved that a great coach and lots of money can outperform bluebloods.
Does the JMI agreement give us the dollars to compete, or does it prevent us (UK) from working on alternative deals to raise money?
Lowe could get to the rim & create pre injury, he also would try & play the hero & not look for open teammates, we basically had no true PG after he got hurt. We may have won a few more games having him but there's no proof really. I'm trying to be positive here, so far, the roster from the PG position looks better at least, both Diallo & Wilkens are true PG & can get to the rim & create their own shot from what I've watched. There seems to also be more 3 point shooting, on paper anyways. That's the positives imo. Finding a replacement for Oweh, there isn't one at the moment, the unknown is Hawthorne & how will Kam or N'daye look? No backup center at the moment either & what if Moreno stays in the draft? Lots of questions right now.Another narrow minded poster who unfortunately can't discern what nuance means. Let me help you with this analogy.

I would argue the opposite. I’d argue taking personal shots is the opposite of beneficial to winning, depending on where such behavior occurs. If it becomes visible to coaches, recruits, or basketball influencers, it directly harms the view of the fanbase and could have a negative effect on winning. Now, calling out bad coaching, poor performance, etc are absolutely within the bounds of fan hood in my opinion. Drawing a distinction intentionally there. If you're taking low, personal shots at Pope the person--uk winning in basketball is the source of your life's happiness. Change my mind.
I love them, too. They are great to organize points being made in a variety of presentations and formats. Like you, I use them often.I love bullet points. Not gonna lie. I add them whenever possible.
So you get your info from TikTok?
Again he said he was “hearing”, no proof just gossip. And why wouldn’t Pope Blame the fans? He blames everyone but himself. Also, I do appreciate the pic but TikTok? That shortness debunked. Sounds more like you’re a victim of fake news.
Why wouldn't opposing coaches use this stuff against us?So you get your info from TikTok?

Because players don’t care about a forum, they don’t have time to follow every schools boards, they have lives, they have girls, they are getting paid millions so they don’t give 2 ***** what some hick from back home thinks when they’ll be here only 1 year. Well technically they won’t be here because Pope Is a whiff God. Also, this has been debunked so many times. What do you think happens exactly? Golden calls a recruit and says OMG like ya know you should totally read RR it’ll change your life forever and you’ll thank me later? Have you ever asked yourself, if they no longer care about the name on the front of the jersey would why they care what a group of fans say.Why wouldn't opposing coaches use this stuff against us?
It makes perfect sense that rival coaches would show them this stuff. The players don't need to follow it themselves. Knowing a great many "fans" hate the coach and regularly bad mouth the players certainly would have an impact. You do realize they could easily text them links of this stuff? The negative memes alone that are made by Ky "fans" can have a definite effect. Saying things like "it doesn't matter if we get him or not we will still suck as long as Poop is coach" would certainly have a negative effect. Do you think our "fans" calling him Poop, dork, and whiff god constantly doesn't have a negative impact on recruiting?Because players don’t care about a forum, they don’t have time to follow every schools boards, they have lives, they have girls, they are getting paid millions so they don’t give 2 ***** what some hick from back home thinks when they’ll be here only 1 year. Floyd Street Freddie strikes again!Williamsanyway Just in case you’re unaware, Mark Pope is the current head coach. Take it to the bank. 14 plus losses and 10th in the sec. Florida Tennessee and Arkansas are loaded.
Welcome to Rafters. We are in May. Any reasonable person who knows basketball will tell you with the pieces we have assembled we are only one or two
superstars from being a final four team. On paper this team is much better than last year. Not a final four team. But better than last year.
Anyone who has played knows it all starts with a point guard. We had none last year . We have two excellent ones and two backups.
Mareno will be much better in year two . the Senegal kid is for real. Williams and Hawthorne are above average players.
Yes we need an outstanding 4/5 capable of starting and or playing 27 to 30 minutes . and we need a Dude. That is two players and
it is only May for God's sake. Why tear the program down now? It is only counter productive. Gives other coaches fodder to show recruits as
to how crazy our fans are . Let it play out. If the chicken littles on this board are right then a change will be made .
But don't get your jockstraps in a wad before recruiting is OVER/ and don't believe every idiot on this board. Many are not UK fans.

You’re a moron with the emotional stability of a 15 year old girl. Grow up pansy. Not stopping til magic underwear clown is gone! Can’t stand pope! He’s a dufus! A jagoff!
Worst coach is UK history! He’s Kenny Payne![]()
The toughest schedule in school history?? You can’t be serious right now. Who TF did we play last year?Acting like injuries and the toughest schedules in school history do not have a legitimate impact is ridiculous. That doesn't mean those are the only problems or the need to get things improved going forward isn't a pressing concern but they are very real factors.
I’m not sure these guards are better than one of those teams, much less all of them BY FAR. I could argue each year successfully I believe and especially after the upcoming season. This roster is not in as bad a shape as many believes. There are 2 McDonalds All American in the starting lineup. The 2 starting guards will be the best combo of starting guards since 2019 by far. If Brandon Hawthorne who was a top 35 recruit plays well this team can be really good. Still need another big IMO at backup Center.
What were Cal’s results his first three years?i think final four is unfair. to me a better mark is have a 1, 2 or 3 seed in the NCAAT. that means you did a lot of things right during the season. NCAAT is often a crap shoot. give me consistent high level regular season and conference performance.....NCAAT seeding reflects that.
but going into year 3, when you have a program like ours, in an era where you can buy players and totally change your team. we should have a top 10-12 team going into the season. there is no excuse for it.
I am serious. I said schedules not schedule. Year before last was toughest ever. This past season was second toughest ever according to the unbiased sports reference site. The toughest schedule in school history?? You can’t be serious right now. Who TF did we play last year?
Fire pope dadYou’re a moron with the emotional stability of a 15 year old girl. Grow up pansy.
Ty Ty and Wheeler sucked. Especially Wheeler. Last year’s backcourt sucked even with healthy Lowe. I’ll give you the rest.I’m not sure these guards are better than one of those teams, much less all of them BY FAR. I could argue each year successfully I believe and especially after the upcoming season.
19-20: Quickley (we have nobody close), Maxey (why am I even replying) (both all-sec, Quickley SEC POY)
20-21: I’ll give you this one only because I’m burying you every other year.
21-22: TyTy and Wheeler (both all-sec) we won’t have a guard with that distinction this year
22-23 had guards who were 6th man of the year and an all-sec freshman. That isn’t counting Wheeler and Thiero.
23-24 Shep, Dilly, Reeves, Thiero, and Wagner all say hi. All Americans, all-sec, freshman of the year
24-25: Brea (best 3 shooter we’ve had in a while), Butler, Kriisa, and Chandler. Maybe close, but I don’t see the current roster being as diverse and dynamic
25-26: Lowe, Williams, Johnson. Best one was hurt all year. This is the worst of the group and about what I expect with the upcoming squad.
I would like to understand how these two incoming guards (who can’t play all game), will be the best two guards BY FAR. You probably can’t argue one of these years successfully.
Are people really this clueless?
You could argue Pope’s last two years were much better than Cal’s last two years here. Probably just as good as Cal’s two years at Arkansas.Did us a favor. The our AD turned around and fked us good. Even as bad as we make Pope seem....him and Cals record are almost identical the last two years.
I think we're in agreement to a be large extent. Bad coaching, laziness, not motivating the kids. It's fair game. Criticism based off the of office is deservedI would argue the opposite.
Pope has done it against way more difficult schedules than Cal's last two seasons as well. Pope's schedules rank #1 and #2 in school history while Cal's rank at #38 and #43 in difficulty.Did us a favor. The our AD turned around and fked us good. Even as bad as we make Pope seem....him and Cals record are almost identical the last two years.
