Thank you for the link to his highlights. He is certainly a 4 at the NCAA level, one who can rotate down and get into the paint as needed. Nice bounce and touch.

Guy looks 30 though, might need to fact check that "birth certificate".

6'9, 250 lbs is certainly center material. Oscar Tshiebwe would be a prime example.

I wish he was flying some where for some more guards at this point since he apparently is holding Morton from committing.

Technically a 24 yo Brazilian who plays ball in Isreal. I get what you are saying, however. That said, basketball is an international sport. I don't care if we pull a PF from Mt. Olympus or Hades so long as he is a stud who helps us win games (not that Santos is a stud).
IDGAF where he's from if he's not from the US. College sports is not a 2nd tier professional league which is what it is turning into. It was designed for 18-22 year olds who are getting an education and playing for their school. This has been destroyed.

I thought of Oscar when I typed that (size wise). Seems they have two very different games though Oscar was relentless, an absolute ball hawk. Santos seems to be more of a scorer who stretches to more like a NCAA PF. Seems like if he is playing the post for the Cats for a stretch it will be to draw big defenders out of the paint to open up the dribble drive. I'm not down on Santos, but he is not going to be throwing elbows down low every play and pulling down 15 boards.

Tel Aviv? We're flying into missile and drone attack territory to get 6'8" centers. This is like next-level version of when Coach Cow was the only guy brave enough to go deep into the ghettos to get players.
Except those players were actually good and worth getting

I do not disagree. I have no issue with the geography, but do with the age. There needs to be an age cap. Many of these kids these days care little about the education aspect, which sucks. It is now professional sports ("The New G League" as the separate thread infers). That said, a 24 yo "Freshman" is odd when his educational peers are 18.

Can’t wait for Raindouche to jump in here and tell everyone how amazing this guy is and he’s someone every schools wants and is on NBA draft boards.
Or that the Israeli League is much higher quality than the SEC and he'll be a 20/10 guy in college. Rsindouche!!! Why didn't I think of that

Well that's not happening White Wayne. It's not 1962 any longer.

I'm not opposed to adding older players. I'm tired of watching highly rated 17 and 18 year old's, drive 1 on 4 and dribble the ball off their foot. Maturity goes a long way.

I like what i saw from the Marcio clips. I think he would be solid as a stretch 4. Seems to have a good motor and plays aggressively.

Am I looking at bad information? Everything I see indicates the Israeli league isn't very good. Like the 8th best league in Europe according to some power rankings. I'm definitely not an expert on international basketball, so Google might be giving me bad information.

It’s sad, really. My son is an exceptional soccer player. But the majority of scholarship players at D1 and D2 are international. It’s happening across all sports, and American born athletes have a major disadvantage. Especially when the sport is not pay to play in most other countries like it is in the States.

At this point I truly don’t know what to think. Selling anyone on playing behind Moreno, who will most likely eat up the majority of the center minutes, is most likely hard enough. Guess we just need bodies at this point, looks like he moves well, know nothing about the league he plays in.
