There is no stud game changer coming here to play for Pope.No doubt Moreno needed a backup besides Potter but we really need a stud game changer.

Thank you for the link to his highlights. He is certainly a 4 at the NCAA level, one who can rotate down and get into the paint as needed. Nice bounce and touch.
Guy looks 30 though, might need to fact check that "birth certificate".
Oscar T. was a an exceptional player, though.6'9, 250 lbs is certainly center material. Oscar Tshiebwe would be a prime example.
I would take his skill set and experience as a backup. Hopefully he doesn't cost more than $1mHis game is basically Reid Travis 2.0 with a better outside game. Similar size as well, not a huge needle mover but would be a quality piece overall.
Well I guess its almost a done deal. 6"8 backup center.

Stfu you freak
IDGAF where he's from if he's not from the US. College sports is not a 2nd tier professional league which is what it is turning into. It was designed for 18-22 year olds who are getting an education and playing for their school. This has been destroyed.Technically a 24 yo Brazilian who plays ball in Isreal. I get what you are saying, however. That said, basketball is an international sport. I don't care if we pull a PF from Mt. Olympus or Hades so long as he is a stud who helps us win games (not that Santos is a stud).
I thought of Oscar when I typed that (size wise). Seems they have two very different games though Oscar was relentless, an absolute ball hawk. Santos seems to be more of a scorer who stretches to more like a NCAA PF. Seems like if he is playing the post for the Cats for a stretch it will be to draw big defenders out of the paint to open up the dribble drive. I'm not down on Santos, but he is not going to be throwing elbows down low every play and pulling down 15 boards.6'9, 250 lbs is certainly center material. Oscar Tshiebwe would be a prime example.
Except those players were actually good and worth gettingTel Aviv? We're flying into missile and drone attack territory to get 6'8" centers. This is like next-level version of when Coach Cow was the only guy brave enough to go deep into the ghettos to get players.
This guy doesn't seem to be that good. a short center like this tells me he isn't skilled. His stats are mid to bad. Under 4 rebounds? Yikes. Contingency plan F.

He's probably not but at 24 yrs old and 260, he should be effective against SEC frontlines
I do not disagree. I have no issue with the geography, but do with the age. There needs to be an age cap. Many of these kids these days care little about the education aspect, which sucks. It is now professional sports ("The New G League" as the separate thread infers). That said, a 24 yo "Freshman" is odd when his educational peers are 18.IDGAF where he's from if he's not from the US. Or that the Israeli League is much higher quality than the SEC and he'll be a 20/10 guy in college. Rsindouche!!! Why didn't I think of thatCan’t wait for Raindouche to jump in here and tell everyone how amazing this guy is and he’s someone every schools wants and is on NBA draft boards.
Well that's not happening White Wayne. It's not 1962 any longer.IDGAF where he's from if he's not from the US. College sports is not a 2nd tier professional league which is what it is turning into. I miss Travis. Was a really solid player for us!His game is basically Reid Travis 2.0 with a better outside game. Similar size as well, not a huge needle mover but would be a quality piece overall.
Exactly. When are people going to realize this??There is no stud game changer coming here to play for Pope.
Well this guy is him but with a bigger vertical.I miss Travis. Was a really solid player for us!
In fairness to Pope, beating regular season mid majors isn’t where struggles. It’s with high major teams who have equal or better talent.Who is that 1 loss to? Bellarmine in a shocker?
Pope is going to have to get into the lab to create one!Exactly. When are people going to realize this??
Pope getting a shout-out from the Sports Rabbi
It’s sad, really. My son is an exceptional soccer player. But the majority of scholarship players at D1 and D2 are international. It’s happening across all sports, and American born athletes have a major disadvantage. Especially when the sport is not pay to play in most other countries like it is in the States.IDGAF where he's from if he's not from the US. I guess when they finally wake the **** up!Exactly. When are people going to realize this??
