If he were to be a lottery pick, say the 10th pick. I’d bet he’s leaving at least $2M on the table next year and that’s just salary. He’d make NIL as a pro too.
You think he's only making 3M to come back to Florida? 10th pick, he gets 5M (which I already knew, since I know the scale); my guess is he gets close to that at Florida. I also know that he was not going 10th, but likely closer to 14th. Also, if he does not believe that he'll get a second contract, he would be smart to stay at Florida as long as possible.

Also, he is playing 40 or fewer games at Florida, and 82 in the NBA. He might get a fifth year at Florida, which means he would be 25 when he enters the league. At that point, age does become a factor.

I’ve been reading up on it and when you’re wrong, you’re wrong. I believe I was wrong on my position here. ✌️

Not sure anyone here would be taking any victory laps as badly as things are going on. But your favorite team is pretty good, so I suppose it's worth a trip to another team's message board to troll. Fortunately for trolls like you, our mods allow you guys to hang around for a while, unlike gatorbait or whatever it's called now.
Never knew I could comment on another team's board. I wish more were like this.

Exactly that's the reason I say Golden would kill it here!
Had our chance to probably hire him in 2024. But nope! Pope instead. If we were going to take chances at a coach, should’ve went with one who everyone thought had potential.

But ole crooked Mitch had to ensure our demise.

Florida is what all of us want Kentucky to be
Look at the way Golden has done it - he found these bigs, they weren't highly rated. Developed them, kept them together. Lucky enough that they are just good enough. Their NC was 3 portal guys, not huge names, in the BC. Not always about the shiney objects, it's about the right blend and finding less obvious talent.

Tossing money at ever high priced shiney guy might now be the way.

Be civil and talk basketball/football or whatever, and none of the trolling BS, and you'll be fine here. It's not a good idea to suddenly appear after a Florida win, unless you've had made history here. Your board has historically been unwelcoming to outsiders; it's been some time since I posted there, but that's what I knew then. I stopped posting there when a poster named "Big Ole Nasty Gator" or "BONG" said that he wished cancer on another poster's child (I do not believe he's on anymore, but PacoGator, numbers, and others are still on). The mods allowed it to linger, while summarily banning/editing posts from other fanbases. I called them out, and their excuse was "we can't keep up with everything". This was probably 12+ years ago. After that, I quit posting on Gatorbait.

All you can do is laugh, you can’t even run them off down there, if being a lottery pick won’t do it, they got something going on. I don’t see how his stock can go any higher, but he could get hurt and see his dream ruined. I guess that’s a chance he’s willing to take.
He’s already making millions and wants to win another Campionship. Money isn’t everything.

Ya we are batshit crazy at UF
Most Florida fans I know are reasonable in person. Fans were decent to me when I went to the O-Dome. That said, football is king at UF, even if the basketball team wins 20 championships; it is what it is. All of them like their basketball, but football is the mover. I thought Tennessee fans were worse at TBA, but none were bad towards me. That said, I'm not a trash talker in person; however, I have never written anything here that I would not say in person. I do not believe the same would be true for a lot of posters, including UK and UF fans.

The thing that sucks for us is even if Pope pulls a rabbit out of his hat with some recruits, try going through about 10 of these stout teams and getting to a Final Four. Its not going to happen no matter who he pulls together.

The good news for most here is just deal with this year a new coach will be hired in 11 months. Just ride it out.
I got to thinking about that today. Instead of wasting a year on a lame duck coach, why not just call Donavan now that he’s free and see if he wants the job? If he does then fire Pope now. Billy wouldn’t do any worse than Pope would this year. Billy isn’t my top choice but I’d take him now in a second.

100% we are mostly good people and want visitors to enjoy the trip. Our craziest comes to players and admin, you should see the message board posts about X Lee and Stricklin our AD, oh add Billy to that. To other fans no, I’ve been some places I just won’t go back to, cause the fanbase made it miserable.

Oh, so you guys are just like us, then. We both hate our AD's, we both hate our coaches for our main sport, and we harshly criticize players, even Oweh at times. Billy Napier was awful, kinda like Pope. Good people, but not cut out to coach at Florida and Kentucky, respectively. Florida is the #1 overall seed in the too early bracketology, to no surprise. Hopefully, we'll only play Florida once; actually taking a lead at any point is a step in the right direction. :poop:

I have always had a good time when I visited. The university is beautiful and I like that the stadium and basketball arena are right in the middle of the campus. It is a true college experience.

Florida football has one of the best venues in all of sports. I am a huge Tom Petty fan so that makes it even better. The tradition between the 3rd and 4th quarters is special. Especially at night.

It’s a good time man! If you get back down, I would definitely check out the new baseball stadium. They just built it and they have a mini diamond inside the ballpark for kids to hangout. I still want to go to a UK basketball game, the atmosphere looks electric.

Actually I have to go up and over to get to Gainesville as I live on the Gulf. I visit often. My grandson is in medical school there. I am a 6th generation Floridian and kids are 7th.
