Stop with the term “natty”, you sound retarded. Are you 5 years old?

Stackhouse is a terrible coach. Always seemed angry about something.

Vandy seems improved this season, but, honestly, we‘ll find out more now that conference play is starting.

Natty* is fine by me, but I could see where that might bother somebody.

Stack was a lazy recruiter and mid af coach.

I agree, I’m not sold on Vandy either but I know our high end is very good. We have had a few bad shooting nights too and that can always lead to a loss.

Why?

Im guessing you haven’t watched us play if you really feel like that.
He obviously didn't see the UK-Vanderbilt game in Nashville last year.
Their schedule hasn't been the toughest so far but Vanderbilt is building a good program and this years game, especially at Vandy will be a tough one. Byington is a very good coach. I agree with him that Vanderbilt will lose a few games in the SEC but I do not agree that they will tank.

A couple of terms I despise.

1. You got this.
2. Natty.

Honestly, we won’t learn much about Vandy tomorrow. South Carolina is as close to a cupcake game, that you have in this conference.

I probably say Natty as a taunt to UTjr fans from baseball. Ha, been saying it for years but if we’re being honest, probably because it’s easier to type out than, “National Championship.”

Agree about South Carolina. I expect to win but Lamont Paris is a good defensive coach and Meechie Johnson is really good 1 out of every 3 games!!!

If we can get the road win at SC, I believe we have Bama the following week. We’ve proven our level can get high with our blowout wins at Wake and at UCF, St Mary’s VCU and SMU but none of those teams are top 20 so Bama will show us something.

I think Florida is still the best team in the conference. But there appears to be a lot of teams bunched together. It may just come down to difficulties of schedules as to who comes out on top. Which I haven’t really looked at.

Impossible to predict the SEC this year.
At the end, would I be surprised if Vandy were crowned? No. Arkansas? No. Alabama? No. Tennessee? No. Kentucky? No. Florida? No.

…and there’s an alternate reality where someone outside that group comes out of nowhere and is your SEC champs —- congrats to anyone willing to make a prediction —- might as well draw names from a hat. If you held a gun to my head, I’d lean Arkansas.

Dang, some if you guys are being a little harsh in Friedas, he's one of the good guys, lighten up. He's always come over here to congratulate us when we beat the 'dores and he’s been humble. Good poster.
I agree with you. Catch and release.

Yeah, it’s an impossible year to guess for sure. I do like Arkansas’ team a lot, but Cal can be a guy that lets great talent get in the way of having a great team unfortunately.

That’s awesome. While both wins, those were the worst two games we’ve played by a wide margin. If that’s the only data you have, I could see where you’d think we stink lol.

Probably so. I follow both of those two teams, being from western Ky, which is why I remember.

We were absolutely atrocious for the Toppers. WKU is a team we beat by 20 most nights. The funny thing is we blew out VCU and St Mary’s the following two days to win that tournament but WKU… Both of those teams are significantly better. woof.

I’m just doing the top 6 and I honestly feel you could shuffle 2-6, but I feel those will be the top 6 teams in conference. Really need Pope to show something tomorrow vs Bama….please don’t start the game trailing by 8 by the first TV TO

After watching some of the other teams in conference, we may not finish in the top 8! I don’t believe this is an overreaction either🤷‍♂️

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but Vandy will, in all likelihood, come WAY back down to earth very quickly once conference play starts. Sure, they’re unbeaten but their schedule has been a cakewalk.
Best wins? Saint Mary’s and SMU.
Number of true road games and location? 3 @ UCF, Memphis and Wake Forest.
Vandy may turn out to be really good, but they haven’t even been tested yet against any top tier competition.

Did beat UCF by 12 at their place and beat SMU by 19. So I agree, we haven’t had the pleasure of playing any of the top few teams but if we didn’t beat St Mary’s, UCF and SMU, all three of those teams are ranked by now.

Vandy hosts Bama on Wednesday at 8pm ct fyi -

We are a little banged up though so that Bama game gets tough all of a sudden. Duke Miles scores 17 a game and he’s been out the past two games. Frankie Collins is an assist and steal machine and he’s been out the last 3 games.

Meanwhile, Tyler Tanner has been playing at a high level. He had 19 pts and 14 assists today.

How anyone can have the Cats at #6 or above is beyond me. I don't even think we will be top 6. I believe we have a losing SEC season. We were not just bad, we're god-awful bad.

We will win 2 of next 3. And folks will be saying were back then we start the teeth of conf play and we will likely lose most tough gsmes. But next 3 are winnable. Hope we can at least get 2 of those

At this point I just want a winning season . I dont even think we make tourney if honest . Im just hoping to end season with more wins than losses

My son and I each ranked the teams 1-16 last night. Here were mine:

1) Vandy
2) Bama
3) Arkansas
4) Kentucky
5 Tennessee
6) Florida
7) Georgia
8) Auburn
9) LSU
10) Ole Miss
11) Texas
12) OU
13) A&M
14) Miss St
15) Mizzou
16) South Carolina

SEC POY: Labaron Philon

It’s hard for me to put Vandy first too, not trying to be a homer but if the Dores stay healthy, the 3 points guys are really good together and make things difficult on opponents on both ends of the floor. Tyler Tanner, Duke Miles and Frankie Collins have been really good so far.

I also think the Cats are trending and it wouldn’t surprise me at all to see them hold the SEC Crown by the end of the season. I think that all depends on the health of Lowe and Quaintance though, those two have to be healthy to compete.

What do y’all think?
@Friedas_Boss you just may be right about Vandy, but dead wrong about UK lol! Y’all look good, man!

Sorry about the Cats, man. I hate it, always pull for y’all. I was stunned to see Mizzou won.

Hope y’all get it going sooner than later, brother.
You were right Frieda…Tanner and Vandy are legit. Very impressive win last night!
Don’t think any UK fans are looking forward to our 2 matchups with you guys.
We‘re not even close to a bubble team right now with our “resume“.

What do y’all think?

Halfway through SEC play and I totally butchered it.

I had Florida at 6 and A&M at 13…

Florida looks like the run away winner and A&M is 7-1 in SEC play rn.

Im not sure I could have butchered this list anymore than I did.

Florida just got so much better as the season went on. I’d have Todd Golden as the SEC Coach of the Year too.

I've been saying this same thing since the rankings first came out. You can't lose those 4 guards, replace them with Fland and Lee and think they are still a top 10 team.
If Florida didn’t win it all last year, they wouldn't rank this years team that high.
You were saying?

I may end up being wrong but I don’t see Florida as a high end team this year. Their backcourt took a significant step back with Fland and Lee from Clayton Jr and Company.
Yes you were right. You butchered it but props for giving it a shot

To be fair, Florida got better because Todd Golden stopped running the team though his guards. When Golden flipped his emphasis to Haugh, Condon and Chinyelu, the team got better and better. When I posted my take, the Florida team right now would beat that Florida team by 20.

Yes and no. Golden is also just a good X’s and O’s coach and was just figuring some things out. With that being said even during the beginning of the season they weren’t a #6 SEC team. I mean to be fair you also had Vandy at #1. Come on!

We were really good then. Had some injuries…

We beat Florida if not for a 7 point play by Doug Shows and then a guy who should have been fouled out hitting a game winning 3.

Hope we get to play again. We have a huge advantage in the backcourt, visa versa in the frontcourt.

Vandy ended up 4th…

At that time of your post you had played NOBODY. You had only played 1 team that will even be in the tournament (UCF). Come on it’s Vandy basketball. Not exactly a program with much success. I mean Vandy has 1 elite 8 in the entire history of their program and that was in the 60s.

Talk about homerism at its finest for one of the least successful SEC basketball programs in all of the conference.

Congrats on your 4th place finish I guess. Good luck in the tournament.
