A few of us at Clothier Hall freshman year reached out to the band SLADE and we had a deposit/date for a concert supported by Rutgers funded RUMP. RUMP canceled the RUMP deposit for SLADE in favor of a Bruce Springsteen concert.

Seen a few times..Keswick years ago and just this past Oct. at the Scottish Rite. I can't stand his solo stuff but I'd go again just to see the 2nd act of Genesis material. BTW, I saw something yesterday on my Facebook feed that he is planning to tour with a new band line-up. I would assume he isn't changing that keyboard player and lead singer. Or the Brass . He usually just changes the drummer and bass.

If you're a Pre- "And then there were three" fan like me you need to go see The Musical Box. They replicate the shows with the lead dressing and talking like Peter. IIRC they even purchased the light show from the Lamb Tour.
I've seen The Musical Box a bunch of times. It's a great recreation of Peter Gabriel Genesis. Recently they've added early Phil Collins stuff to the shows.

Have my tickets to Sugar at Webster Hall in May and Triumph at Forest Hills in June.

$300 for AC/DC in Houston for upper deck football stadium tickets. That's a bit ridiculous. Fifteen years ago, I paid $25 to stand 10 feet from the center of the stage to see Springsteen.

April 9- for metal heads/ stoner rock fans---Clutch and Corrosion of Conformity are at Starland Ballroom. COC is touring with Galactic's drummer, Stanton Moore. Stanton is a fantastic drummer, who did the drums on COC's In the Arms of God, and on their upcoming double album. Not everyone's cup of tea, but solid musicians.

shift. I'll tell you this and you can choose to believe it or not. Back in the late 70's as a Jr/Senior in High School I could (almost) cover all these drummers. I found Rush with 2112 and others like Zappa, Beck (Wired) , Kansas, Genesis, Chicago , Yes, etc. That's Neil (Rush), Terry Bozio (Zappa), Chester Thompson (Zappa/ Genesis), Phil Earhart (Kansas), Collins (Genesis), Danny Serafin (Chicago) , Alan White (Yes).. etc

Rodgers Londoner Five kit (double toms) with 22" Ride, 18" Crash/ride, 16" Crash and 15" High Hats (all Zildjian) . Remo heads and 5A Nylon tipped sticks.

I drove my neighbors crazy and if you know how hard Neil played I can tell you I beat the crap out of my heads/sticks and the hardware required constant adjustment.

My dream was to go to Ohio State and play in the band, be a music major. Financial realty brought me to Rutgers and an Economics Degree.

'Why did you post this?" well I felt compelled to admit while I have opinions about Football and Basketball. I fuvking know how to drum and miss it. Just sharing a life regret out loud and choose you to tag it to.

The Guess Who played on May 17, 1974, at Veterans Stadium after the Phillies game.
I saw the Guess Who around 1970 or so
One of the beer companies, forgot which one, did an outdoor concert series in NYC
Pretty decent show

Clutch is a good band. COC had a couple of songs I liked; Voting With A Bullet and Dance of the Dead.

Those two songs are bangers, for sure, and they were recorded with the one-off singer Karl Agell in 1991. Pepper Keenan sings lead vocals now. That song Vote With a Bullet was more about disenfranchisement generally, and Pepper venting over a recent serious injury. “My body was broken and I owed all this money to hospitals – hundreds of thousands of dollars when I was basically sleeping on somebody’s dining room table in a sleeping bag. It’s a battle cry for the disenfranchised youth who were sick of the system. The man in the ivory tower wasn’t working for us.”
That album, Blind, was also a departure from the band's hardcore punk roots.

To me, their more recent albums are just heavier versions of Lynyrd Skynyrd with more aggressive guitars and drum, but a lot of Southern boogie mixed in. That's more than anyone cares about

Check out this song from In the Arms of God- Dirty Hands/Empty Pockets- brilliant capture of the Iraq war and skipped past the "rap" in the beginning, it really swings.

Concert ticket prices SKYROCKETED following the stupid shutdown. We paid $250 for corner 200-level seats to see Duran Duran at MSG so $300 to see AC/DC - even in the upper deck - isn't surprising at all when you take into consideration how few shows they're playing in The States.

I saw that. I haven’t seen him in concert before and want to. Hopefully he’ll make to the end of July.
I’ve seen him three times in recent years. He was GREAT at Carnegie Hall. One of the best shows I’ve ever seen. Very good at the State Theater. Disappointing, low energy at the Beacon Theater. Age and chain smoking were taking a toll.

I’m glad to see he’s getting fit for this tour.

Not a musician but Craig Ferguson is touring. If you liked his humor on his TV show he is side-splittingly funny in his act.
