Mendosa deadly accurate, nice speed on his passes, low arc.
One unseen blitz and skinny boy has to get carted off.
I don't think they have the offense to win this game either.
Hard to believe PSU came within one play of beating both of these teams.
Consider this:
Indiana went 3-9 in 2023 in Tom Allen's 7th year as HC. Cignetti replaces him. Cignetti leads the team to 11-2 in 2024 and is undefeated (so far) in 2025/6.
With a fraction of the budget of PSU, Indiana is on the doorstep of a national title. The quote from Top Gun Maverick was, "It's not the plane, it's the pilot." To paraphrase, 'It's not the school, it's the coach.'

My son is watching the game with me on the couch watching me scroll the board on my phone (he loves the board, same sickness as me) and he laughed as well.

Same thing happened against Bama--tight game early then a turnover and Bama imploded.
So Cignetti is the only coach in the history of college football that could do that? This is the worst thing that could ever happen because now fans of every mediocre school will think they’re just one coach away from winning it all. If it was just the coach, multiple schools over the years would have been able to do what Indiana has done.

Even with obvious holes, PSU still had a lot of talent. It’s just until the coaching change, it was a very unmotivated and poorly coached team.

I’m in the IU camp for the playoff, but it will be the worst thing for the game for the reasons you stated.
Cignetti was a WVU QB from 1979 to 1982. Wherever he goes, he wins, and is only getting better. Funny how JMU hired him after he ended their historic win streak. His coaching career spans:
