Cignetti was Saban's recruiting coordinator for several years. Guy knows how to sell a championship level team.Money.
Well, to be fair, there hasn’t been much Hawkeye portal news to follow.I really don't care about Indiana's portal commits they bought or ISU's transfers to PSU. PSU has lost far more talent in the portal than they are gaining FWIW.
Indiana will fall off once Cig is gone , Indiana is 1 2 Season stretch of mid away from returning to the suckAnd people are starting to see why I haven't been cheering for Indiana in the playoffs. Having another elite team in the B1G only makes things harder for us.
Do you actually believe that Cig would move on? That he would leave to go to some elite school when he's on the verge of making Indiana the next elite school? Genuine question. I just don't see it. He doesn't seem like the kind of guy that would chase money like that. He has total control over Indiana now, he can do whatever, whenever he wants and the fans and athletic department will believe in him. That won't fly, at say, Alabama.Indiana will fall off once Cig is gone , Indiana is 1 2 Season stretch of mid away from returning to the suck
He is already making 10 mil +. He doesn't need to go anywhere for money and they are on the verge of a natty.Do you actually believe that Cig would move on? All I know is, Indiana turning into an elite blue-blood only makes things worse for our football program. Because they'll join OSU and Oregon up top, followed by Mich, USC, and PSU in tier 2, then Iowa in that third tier.

age slows for no Man , He is 64 and not many Coaches are still at it at 70+Do you actually believe that Cig would move on? Must not be too bright though, going to Wisconsin.might be the best qb anybody signs this year. ugh
He’s a good addition especially for a coach with a very warm seat next year. However a bit of a stretch to say he’s best qb someone will sign with all these guys in the portal.might be the best qb anybody signs this year. ugh
26?! That has got to lead the countryWolford had 19 catches, 26 YPC, and 7 TDs as a freshman and 8 YPC and a TD rushing. 600 yards on 30 touches is pretty impressive. Three years of eligibility, might be a nice find.
Running Back, Receiver, and looks like he would be a decent kick returner. They list him as a gadget player. Those types do well in Lesters offense. Guy can catch the ball in the red zone or outside as evident by 7 T.D. catches.Wolford had 19 catches, 26 YPC, and 7 TDs as a freshman and 8 YPC and a TD rushing. 600 yards on 30 touches is pretty impressive. I 100% trust Lester and believe guys just like that will be big pieces.Running Back, Receiver, and looks like he would be a decent kick returner. They list him as a gadget player. Those types do well in Lesters offense. Guy can catch the ball in the red zone or outside as evident by 7 T.D. catches.
how exciting
Simply not true on a case by case basis, going back to high school recruiting. Josie Jewell was on his way to a D3 school when Iowa finally decided to give him a shot, and he went on to being all B1G, AA and a really good pro starter. CDJ played at a tiny consolidated school district and got no attention at all. If Iowa hadn't offered he'd have been at some small school. He ends up all B1G, and AA, and an all pro in his second season. Wertjen was overlooked and played his first years at Iowa western CC. There are most certainly guys at some of these small schools who were overlooked in high school. And you can get them without the huge pay day and use that to go after the occasional big fish.
Especially a running back who has carries, but more importantly has the catches, yards, and touchdowns he has. Versatility in the offense he is instilling is valued. Like I said, I think he has the hands and speed to do well in the return game. Shifty guy.I 100% trust Lester and believe guys just like that will be big pieces.
He is the 114TH ranked overall portal entry and # 24 WR , This Kid is good and is a burner , perfect slot and Wetjen replacement
how exciting
His production is even more impressive after watching the highlights. Kent St’s qb’s have terrible arms.He is the 114TH ranked overall portal entry and # 24 WR , This Kid is good and is a burner , perfect slot and Wetjen replacement
Makes sense. Remember when they played us bulk of their starters were seniors. Think between both sides only 2-3 underclassman that day starting.Indiana is feasting in the portal right now.
Looks like OK St. and UCF have also offered -not sure who else. Hopefully we can get him to visit! He is the 114TH ranked overall portal entry and # 24 WR , This Kid is good and is a burner , perfect slot and Wetjen replacement
He got a huge extension that included facility upgrades. This is his last stop.Do you actually believe that Cig would move on? I continue to be baffled when people wonder why we don't go for and/or can't land big fish WR transfers in the portal. Yeah the offense is improved but we're still the 127th passing offense in the country. If you were a top WR recruit/transfer and wanted to put your skills on display for NFL scouts, would you choose Iowa? Lol.
Been saying this for the past few years. We'll have to find some diamonds in the rough and claw our way back up with lesser talent. Anyone that has elite level skills isn't going to come here, they'll be shooting for high octane, WR heavy offenses.I continue to be baffled when people wonder why we don't go for and/or can't land big fish WR transfers in the portal.
