These are the kind of kids that you hate to lose. Jaz, Hawkeye Nation wishes you all the best, unless you play the Hawks.
ah yes, free agency with no rules. Can you imagine the extra work involved for the schools involved with all of these transfers? Do the schools even check grades, hours taken or progress toward graduation anymore? I would love to see some of these player's transcripts. Some young, energetic journalist should investigate what is going on, academically. Are they going to class? All online? If so, who is completing the course work? I follow what was formerly known as college football as close as anyone. I do not recall hearing about or reading about any significant football player, (or bb player) nationwide, being declared academically ineligible. This used to be a common occurrence in big time college athletics. Oh well, let the chaos begin.

These guys aren't going to college to play school.

^^^^^^ Elon and North Dakota State. A commentary on where the HC thinks Iowa exists in the football Universe. BTW 31.5 % of all FBS/FCS players are in the portal.

Still no WR names we are looking at. A slot receiver that looked good to me was Kekahuna who was at Wisconsin. A lot to choose from in the portal though. VanderZee, Howard and Parker are a good start. Anxious to see Stinson also.

Only thing I remember out of Parker is drops. The other two are going to be productive though…👍

Clowns for their new QB

Sure it’s already started how their fans will claim they have upgraded and this guy is better than Rocco already. I do see how a former coach at ark st. Now on ISU staff so makes sense how they landed him.

FWIW, I see that ON3 has Hawkins (DB from Villanova) at 100% to Iowa. That would be a good pick up.

Hawkins was named an FCS Freshman All-American this season. The 6-foot-3, 195-pounder finished the 2025 season with 58 tackles, four tackles for loss, and two interceptions.

How are we not targeting at least 2 DTs. Biggest position of need at the moment.
I strongly suspect Parker is/has been looking at transfer DTs. Anyone following Iowa football since 2000 should recognize that KF is very very deliberate when adding new players and/or new coaches (BFerentz excepted).

Also, there are more than 50 DTs currently in the NCAA transfer portal, some under consideration may not have even declared yet. I’m comfortable believing that the coaches are doing their homework and are laying the groundwork.

At least they’re not on our schedule next year.
And He will go pro after the coming Year if He produces and stays injury free, Iowa would only see Indiana in the Championship Game or Playoffs this Year and like I said I bet He is in the Draft 2027

There's 3k players in the portal. Many from quality schools that we could pick up. Not saying guys from FCS and D2 can't play, but your odds are better getting a guy from an FBS level team.
Simply not true on a case by case basis, going back to high school recruiting. Josie Jewell was on his way to a D3 school when Iowa finally decided to give him a shot, and he went on to being all B1G, AA and a really good pro starter. CDJ played at a tiny consolidated school district and got no attention at all. If Iowa hadn't offered he'd have been at some small school. He ends up all B1G, and AA, and an all pro in his second season. Wertjen was overlooked and played his first years at Iowa western CC. There are most certainly guys at some of these small schools who were overlooked in high school. And you can get them without the huge pay day and use that to go after the occasional big fish.
