I tend to think keeping China at bay was a major factor in Venezuela. Hope that it works, but the comments coming out of South America aren't 'thank God you saved us' more 'need restraint and violating sovereignty'. If that is the real position in those countries, we may have just made it easier for China- after all they just want to buy everything and establish influence, the US wants to dictate how they run their country.
Keeping us at bay is what drives both Chinese and Russian policy- creating and maintaining that safety belt.

Well the problem with Trump accomplishing a great deal while acting like a complete buffoon half the time is that it hurts the chances of us being able to continue his "America first" agenda with JD after Trump's current term is over.
If the White House and Congress go back to Democrat control, the new President will pull a Biden and sign a stack of executive orders on day one that repeals everything that Trump accomplished that is good for the American people.
Trump still hasn't learned that sometimes you just have to play the long game when it comes to politics if you really care about the long term well being of the country.
