Taking a 15-year loan at 2.5% interest to cover pandemic-related losses is a savvy financial decision, something the ISU athletic department clearly has no clue about. Instead, they drained their reserves and are now begging fans to donate $500k, plus a $30k yearly maintenance fee, just to rent a crappy condo in Clown Town.
Only one athletic director is constantly running to the media and crying about how much financial trouble their department is in going forward. Take a wild guess which one that is. Enjoy poverty lol.

In contrast, ISU has a surplus which again tells you all you need to know. Bottom line is ISU does significantly more with less revenue.

Reports say Clown U is staring down a $147 million budget deficit through 2031 which comes out to about $24 million per year. The reasons aren’t exactly a mystery either - Big 12 realignment, the House v. NCAA settlement and revenue sharing, and a drop in media rights money. Because of all that, they’ve had to push back stuff like the Hilton renovation and the new wrestling facility, and they’re cutting costs everywhere, even raising student fees. So as you said, this tells you all you need to know lol.

Add in the fact Matt Campbell taking less salary in order to pay assistants and players, plus players themselves taking a pay cut…..doesn’t exactly scream financial solvency.
Once again, you are being incredibly short sighted. Yes, ISU has pulled out a few close football wins over Iowa in September recently, but only one of those teams finished the regular season ranked and it is not ISU.
In women’s basketball, ISU has won once in the last ten matchups.
In wrestling, they have won once in the last twenty one meetings, and will finish the year behind Iowa at NCAA’s.
I will give you men’s basketball. ISU has the stronger program at the moment. But even then, the last ten games are split 5 to 5. And every November you dorks insist your team is a legitimate national title contender. We will see how the season actually plays out.
It is funny how every time ISU strings together a couple of head to head wins, you act like the balance of power is shifting. But, as always, things settle back to reality. Iowa has historically dominated ISU in every major sport, and that is not going to change, especially with the current direction of college athletics.
The current direction of college athletics has Iowa moving towards the bottom of the B10 if financial resources are the measure of success. Ohio State and others are determined to set market economics on revenue distributions. Small market teams are going to the bottom of the conference, so Iowa fans better hope that success isn’t dependent totally on resources. Iowa is the smallest market team in the B10, so you better be careful what you wish for.

As always, you’re not dealing in reality here. Iowa’s athletic department is a top-25 revenue program nationally (#21) and ranks 7th among the 18 current Big Ten schools.
