I agree with this. He is a good coach, but his agent floats stuff out to the media/social media that Campbell is not remotely close to getting or even wants to apply for to extract as much out. Part of the business from an agent standpoint. But when you put together the rumors they don't make sense. Matt Campbell was rumored to have interviewed/turned down the Washington job before the Deboer was named the head coach. None of that happened actually and just piece that one together for anyone. The guy is going fly across the country interview for a job he doesn't have connections for and supposedly turn it down. That doesn't make sense. Many are these hires are similar to the business world where the AD's are not that creative and want to hire their old acquaintances.
The only person who has looked to leave ISU was Pollard. He interviewed it in 2021 despite telling the media despite denying it in the media, but he did pull out of the process due to Nebraska still thinking they are a blue blood of college football. He wanted the Wisconsin job, but didn't get an opportunity to interview.
