Really? He will have a ton of time in the pocket and has shown he can make some pretty good throws against the big boys- those sideline passes against the #2 team in the country, hitting guys in stride all season. We can let GW air it out without showing anything new that we haven't already done. It is the perfect time to build the confidence.
Maybe we’ll throw a couple long balls for fun but I don’t think our staff is looking to establish false confidence that way. Being able to complete long balls against Wagner is meaningless. Our coaches want Gavin playing disciplined. He’s exactly where they want him confidence wise in terms of development. For whatever reason, Gavin’s had the most trouble taking the zip out of the short passes. That has nothing to do with competition level which is why this should be the perfect game for him to work on cleaning that up.
