If you are saying that the NCAA would consider all games we play there as home, I would agree that it is a negative for the arrangement
If we hadn't had about 10 threads and hundreds of posts whining about it, it might be immature. After having to suffer through all that whining, it was appropriate, IMO.
I thought that alternating home and away against a big ten team at the garden was fair
Some hated it. As long as it was evenly done, I like it
A great day for RU, and more memorable than many RAC games
I mean, Michigan did it in 2020. But I tend to agree with you, after yesterday, why would any of our conference mates sign up for that?Good luck getting any school to give up thrir home game to play Rutgers with Rutgers as the away team after Rutgers had 11500 fans in the building
Show me when we beat IOWA this year? No, you’re mistaken. We won wire to wire at the RAC like we always do. What team are you watching?
If MSG is a "neutral site" I assume folks would have no problem with the following:
- A two game series versus Duke or UNC with both games in Greensboro (since it is a "neutral site"
- During the RAC renovation play all four Michigan and Michigan State games at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit (That is four neutral site games, right?)
- During RAC renovation play all four games versus USC and UCLA at Staples (That is four games at neutral sites also.)
After yesterday, most top teams in the country won’t sign up for a game @ MSG against this team.I mean, Michigan did it in 2020. But I tend to agree with you, after yesterday, why would any of our conference mates sign up for that?
That is the objective. I spoke to multiple people who cannot get into JMA that showed up at MSG to support the team. All of the people complaining Here would be equally as pissed if Iowa played Michigan on the same floor next year. This gets people who can't get to the RAC into a game. Absolutely nothing wrong with it
I'll help you out because seemingly everyone else picked up on it, but he's being facetious.Show me when we beat IOWA this year?
He’s being sarcastic pointing out that merely playing at RAC doesn’t guarantee wins.Show me when we beat IOWA this year?
Yes, but at least everyone had a beer at the end of it. There’s no payoff here. This thread reminds me of the old Miller Lite beer commercials
“Taste great…Less filling”
Not happening. It has to be an even arrangement here on in. Our home game at MSG. In exchange - the road game vs. Purdue (same season). is in Indianapolis. Or something like that.Good luck getting any school to give up thrir home game to play Rutgers with Rutgers as the away team after Rutgers had 11500 fans in the building

When we played them at the RAC. Wire to wire victory. Never in doubt.Show me when we beat IOWA this year?
Damn I’ve been outedI was curious why his facts were so bad. Just trying to correct.
Next level brillianceWhat does that make whining about whining about whining?
Already play 80% of non-conference games at home. Get a non- conference game or two on neutral court against a formidable opponent would be great.Again do you think closer game at MSG or the RAC? Listen to Pike, not me, post game. Where would Pike rather play?
Answer is pretty clear.
well, if the big ten cannot get a team to do it, as Michigan did a few years ago, then we don't do itGood luck getting any school to give up thrir home game to play Rutgers with Rutgers as the away team after Rutgers had 11500 fans in the building
We should all be drinking when reading threads like this one...lol.Yes, but at least everyone had a beer at the end of it. There’s no payoff here.
100% agree with the sentiment and this post. Then again the OP started hundreds of useless immature threads over the last 5 years so I am numb to him.I tend to agree with the sentiment here, but the lecture thread title is immature.
Yeah, but the question remains will the NCAA now treat it as a home game because of proximity to campus. If the contract for this game is extended they won’t have a choice. Next time Rutgers plays this game they’ll be giving up a road game.
If we had lost is the issue. Is it worth the risk? This win was so much better for the RU brand then another win at the RAC. Packing MSG and beating a blue blood is a big deal to the media/ average sports fan. It adds another layer of credibility to the program.
You torch whatever credibility you might have when you imply that we can’t lose this game at the RAC or that we would be expected to win by 20-30 points. We were favored by 4.5 in that game; that number is maybe 6-6.5 at the RAC.If we had lost is the issue. Is it worth the risk?
It’s clear RU didn’t volunteer for this and Pike would rather we play at the RAC.
Crickets on those simple facts. Can’t dispute it!! No commentary on that is pretty damning.
The other elephant in the room is would we be getting STFU messages on the board if we lost? I think not. So some fans should get off their high horse.
Again last two times at home vrs MSU at the RAC we won by 20 + and 30 +.
Yesterday we down by 8 in the second half.
Some think the risk is worth it, I would rather win first than worrying about our brand and the Garden.
The more we learned about this game the least attractive it became.
Thank God we won.
But to be told to STFU or that anyone who doesn’t like this game is nuts….That’s more crazy.
And to keep ripping posters who dare to disagree and to not expect them to respond….
It’s a message board!
I went to the game. It was a blast. But I was nervous at the half, I would rather a conference game at home.
And again the crucial honest question you have to ask yourself, if we had lost would we all be so happy about the Garden?
If it ever happens again hope we get all the dets before hand and not after the fact.
I’ll end it on that but if the usual cast of characters continue to rip me or strings telling RU fans to STFU, damn straight I’m going to respond and keep it going. How many of you wouldn’t?
Go RU! Beat Indiana!
Don't be dropping truth bombs without including #988 for him to call. You torch whatever credibility you might have when you imply that we can’t lose this game at the RAC or that we would be expected to win by 20-30 points. We were favored by 4.5 in that game; that number is maybe 6-6.5 at the RAC.
Win games like this at MSG and make a good tournament run and they will do national games from the RAC in the future.Nope - would Rather showcase the RAC than MSG. For the tv audience - especially outside of NYC - I don’t think people care where the game was played…glad RU fans showed up in force.
RAC atmosphere is better on tv too…
RU shouldn’t get bullied into this again IMHO.
Edit: One more note for those who want the BIG to have a presence in NYC they should continue to rotate the BIG tournament into MSG that is way more appropriate.
I for one love those 2.5 more points. You torch whatever credibility you might have when you imply that we can’t lose this game at the RAC or that we would be expected to win by 20-30 points. We were favored by 4.5 in that game; that number is maybe 6-6.5 at the RAC.
Coach does not. And again do it for a non conference game.Win games like this at MSG and make a good tournament run and they will do national games from the RAC in the future.
BTW something most of you overlook, the players absolutely loved playing at the Garden yesterday.
You have nothing but the same 2-3 comments that you’re repeating over & over. Come back when you can have a full conversation.Coach does not. And again do it for a non conference game.
Did you eat paint chips as a child? You've been ridiculous all week and after seeing the turn out yesterday you should just be quiet now.If we had lost is the issue. Is it worth the risk?

If it ever happens again hope we get all the dets before hand and not after the fact. There are also serious questions about the fairness to RU, even if you love the game at the Garden, that must be addressed.
I’ll end it on that but if the usual cast of characters continue to rip me or strings telling RU fans to STFU, damn straight I’m going to respond and keep it going. How many of you wouldn’t?

Never about attendance.Did you eat paint chips as a child? You've been ridiculous all week and after seeing the turn out yesterday you should just be quiet now.
The "Go Green, Go White" cheer came through loud and clear.it was loud, in person. It didn’t seem louder than the RAC to me but like I said I was up in the second level which might be why.
The other poster that I replied to indicated it seemed quieter on tv though
