OT: Dog Rescue

Well to update this thread, after weeks of researching, emails, rejections, etc. I’m meeting a one year old hound mix on Friday and will hopefully be able to bring it home.

Just wanted to update this thread again as there were so many helpful people.

I’ve had the dog for 3 months…he turned 1 in November. He’s a coonhound, Pitt bull, Alaskan cattle dog mix. I was told when I adopted him he was a greyhound mix but I did a DNA test and there’s zero greyhound in him. Lol.

He is a rescue from Tennessee…hence he was named Titan. Liked that name so I kept it. Was never a dog person growing up or even immediately after.l college, but I’m so thankful I got one and am now a dog person lol. Don’t know how to post pictures…or I’d post a few of him, so sorry. But thanks again all for the help!

Uh oh- you are hooked for life...And life is so much better when you have a dog. The only warning is- you will always outlive them.

But sounds like you love this little guy so there is just nothing better than that!

We got our little German Shepherd puppy a couple of months ago- and now, at 3.5 months- already 48 lbs. - going to be a big guy. Love the heck out of him already- only problem is that GS baby teeth are razor blades.

Does he gnaw you like a chew toy?

Not sure I could do another retriever puppy because of that.

He does…most puppies will but most puppies don’t have razor blade teeth.
Our boxer used to do the same but her baby teeth were harmless- and she would chase our older German Shepherd around nipping and biting at him but only got mouthfuls of fur.
GSD’s baby teeth are like no other and they also start to get that jaw strength early. Have to always make sure you have a chew toy in your pocket to switch him off your hand…
Their adult teeth are not as sharp

We just got back the DNA results on my rescue "Retriever" Mix.

She is the sweetest dog ever. I trained and had her certified as a Theraphy Dog. She has visited Schools, Nursing homes and Colleges including Rutgers.
