2 for 1 was probably more my fault. I would always forget. I think my 4th year B knight started getting in my ear about it. We definitely talked about it more my final 2 years. I definitely had a ton of control of the offense at the end of half’s and games and you can’t hear anything. So they may have been telling me to go and i would just be sitting there 🤦🏾‍♂️😂
Awesome comment, Geo.

Haha i think basketball is a lot more simple than people try to make it. If I were a coach I don’t think I would run my offense much different than coach pikiell’s. If you look at the nba most of their offense is about high ball screen action. Sure they have some sets but at the end of the day you want to create a quick disadvantage for the defense and then make a read. Honestly our Purdue game that i was dissecting is a perfect example. We did high ball screens and ghost screens the whole second half while they ran a bunch of complicated sets. We still won.

i also think it has to do with personnel. Realistically the guys we had on my team the last 5 years probably would not be able to run Purdue or iowas system. Didn’t fit their style of play at all. And pikes knows that which is why we played the way we did. I do think he may have to switch it up this year at the end of shot clock. But Paul and cliff in a ball screen action seems about as dangerous as any set any team will draw up. Paul is going to make all of the right reads off of it.

that 2 for 1… idk man 🤣🤣🤣

and also big ten is most highly scouted league in the country. We all know each other way too well. I definitely won’t be giving anything away that coaches don’t already know.

Iowa expends a ton of energy running the offense they do. Takes away from their intensity on the defensive end.
