Most everyone can agree Rutgers is an NCAA team next season. Throw in one player who isn't a cancer and has NBA talent, especially if it's a position of need, and that team isn't just an NCAA participant. They are a contender.
agreed.. a couple years ago.. yeah... because it help juice recruiting and put fans in the seats.. get buzz.. but we got recruits, buzz, fans now.One and dones aren't the saviors some on here think they are. I'd rather win playing team ball than being a developmental team for a one and done.

What are you talking about??? Maybe that's not "your" program but most fans and the entire coaching staff want great players. I'd take a mid -season one and done if it made RU great and lead them to a run in the NCAA's!no
that ain't Pike's program...

Cockburn did not come to Illinois as a "one and done". He was a four star, like Omoruyi. I'm talking about 5 star McDonald's types who the coach knows ahead of time that the kid will only play a year. Cockburn had a nice year and was probably told to give the NBA a try. If the same happens with Omoruyi, I'd have no problem. But neither are the type of situation I'm talking about. One and dones also aren't the program-destroyers some on here think.
Illinois had a pretty decent season just this year with a "one and done".

Well, you twisted what I wrote, but whatever. It's enough back and forth. Stay safe.Oh that makes it much clearer.......
So Rutgers shouldn't recruit any 5-star players because they "may" leave after 1 year (but not a guarantee they leave).
I'd like to see 1 coach say "no" to a 5-star elite level recruit.
But Rutgers should recruit high level 4-star recruits who could play really well and leave after 1 year.
That recruiting philosophy isn't incredibly confusing at all......
