I’m no I thought those were good trades, but he should have cut Eli (what would Belichick have done) and not re-signed Odell in the first place. I also though Barkley was a horrible pick.
So cut Eli the same year that we were going to be paying Odell and Vernon and jackrabbit anyway and it would be nearly impossible to win with those financial albatrosses signed on..for no reason. Got it.
Unless your reason is that Jones should've started game one. Because nobody thought Jones would be ready to do that, or even start this year til he got here and exceeded all expectations. So apparently you can tell the future better than basically every NFL analyst who said he'd need a year to sit.
Personally I've seen Eli on the sideline with Jones..this is not a favre and Rodgers situation. Eli was doing a damn good job coaching him and to me, he was worth every damn penny.
Odell played nice to get signed. It was a good enough act that not only were us fans fooled, but the browns were more than happy to take on the majority of the contract and give us the pick that turned into Lawrence, one of our best young players (plus ximines). And if he hadn't resigned Odell, fans like you would've been screaming bloody murder
