He doesnt get it at all.As you know those are ‘reported’ Attendance figures. Accounts for all sold, distributed, donated, Staff & Administration, etc. Far far from actual fans in the House unfortunately.

Weather now looking great for Saturday! Mostly cloudy, NO RAIN, mid to high 70s.

I wasn't the idiot who said 40k. That was you. You don't get itOf course, I know that - everyone knows that, but all we ever see reported is the announced attendance (all tickets sold/distributed), so I'm guessing the announced crowds, since that's the data I have to compare to. The number of scanned tickets is typically about 65-75% of those announced numbers, depending on the game, although I think the scanned number under-reports actual attendance somewhat.
Thanks for making your point constructively, though, unlike WhiteBus, who we all know has difficulty playing nicely with others.

You posted 2015, coming off a winning bowl game. You ignore the last 2 years of declining attendance and severe declining season ticket holders. Point to other non Labor Day home openers to support a crazy number. No surprise. Bad at weather forecasts and bad at attendance forecasts.I just posted the first links in this thread to the major differences between announced and actual attendance and I don't get it? 40K was my guess at announced attendance, because that's the only number we usually get, so I was guessing at it. Man, you really are a dipshit sometimes.

You need to read the weather thread - no rain is possible, but a few showers are absolutely possible and our fanbase melts easily. If the forecast the day before the game is drier and no rain falls before kickoff, I predict 40K. If the forecast remains iffy and there are a few showers before noon, then I predict 32K.
I posted 2015 because it was the last time we played a scrub team at home on the Saturday before Labor Day and we had 47K; since we're coming off bad seasons now and weren't then, is why I didn't predict 47K, but lowered it to 40K. And I also posted the 40K last year for Morgan State in game 3 after 2 losses. I'd like to think we can at least equal that when we're 0-0, if the weather is decent. And just for good measure we had 45K for Howard in our post-Labor Day home opener in 2016 after a bad loss at UW. Give up yet?You posted 2015, coming off a winning bowl game. I thought you went to the other board BTW because of "loyalty " Some friend [eyeroll]
No tailgating? That’s a waste of a good parking lot. [cheers]Don't care. Don't care about the weather. We are going. We will arrive 30 minutes before kickoff, and we will cheer loudly when the team enters the field and on opponent third downs.
For those that care, the attendance will be better on non-holiday weekends, and against better opponents. Our group will arrive 30 minutes before kickoff, and we will cheer loudly when the team enters the field and on opponent third downs.
But I still will not care. Yeah, I cared enough to post, but the attendance-tards for a game like this leave me SMH.
Will laugh at the comments about the student section on Saturday, as they are not even moved back in.

Give up yet? You keep using #s from years ago. You do know that last year the avg attendance at Rutgers was under 40k for first time since 2005. I dont see the declining attendance trend stopping until Rutgers stops getting blown out and produces a major upset.I posted 2015 because it was the last time we played a scrub team at home on the Saturday before Labor Day and we had 47K; since we're coming off bad seasons now and weren't then, is why I didn't predict 47K, but lowered it to 40K. We generally don't tailgate. Usually too busy, and if we do, it is usually just the four of us having a some sandwiches. No tailgating? That’s a waste of a good parking lot. [cheers]

That was a stupid viewpoint back than and dumber today. They don't do it.When Rutgers joined the Big10, it was reported here that many Michigan, Ohio St. and Penn St. bought season tickets in good locations at Rutgers Stadium, just to be sure that they had good seats when their teams came here, in case of a sell-out. These guys might now be a sizable percentage of the season ticket base at Rutgers. What these guys do with their tickets to all the other games ?
As posted above no one does except Navy. This isnt a Rutgers issue33,000 announced: 19,000 in the stands. All teams play this inflated attendance game to charge higher cost for in stadium advertising. RU will never announce turnstile attendance.
True but advertisers need to call these teams out on the carpet for this deceptive practice. As posted above no one does except Navy. This isnt a Rutgers issue
Advertisers? Why?True but advertisers need to call these teams out on the carpet for this deceptive practice.
Because they are paying for in- stadium signs, announcements based on fans in the seats not "inflated attendance " numbers.Advertisers? Why?
No they aren't. The big money signage is what gets picked on TV, not what is seen or not seen by people in the stands. The big $ sign at Yankee Stadium is behind home plate. No one can see that in the Stadium. Plus every advertisor also gets in game mentions on radio and weekly radio shows. Its a multiple deal for sponsers. Look what High Point paid for naming rights. Its not a lot of moneyBecause they are paying for in- stadium signs, announcements based on fans in the seats not "inflated attendance " numbers.
Completely wrong. There are advertising signs all over the stadium, on the scoreboard that fans in the stands see all game. Think of all the signs around Yankee stadium that can be seen from all seats. No they aren't. The big money signage is what gets picked on TV, not what is seen or not seen by people in the stands. Pro or College, peak attendance is past.Complete joke. Upstairs was empty
In a 55k seats stadium id say it was about 60-65% full so that would be about 33k ? Pretty good for an opening day either way. Sidelines were packed and great student turnout and they stayed through the third quarter for the most part. For a team coming off 4, 2, and 4 win seasons it was a great crowd
Haha!- 40,000 my butt- 26K if lucky. This announced attendance thing is getting out of hand. NJ.com will provide scan ticket sales later this week.Announced attendance: 40,124
