What do we think will be the attendance at the home opener? I'm hoping for a nice crowd but we are playing a low profile team and the weather isn't looking great. I'm not even sure if the students will be moved in yet.

If the weather ends up being as crappy as some are predicting, maybe in the 28-30k range to start and if we pull away early I doubt there will be 10k in the stands by the time the 4th quarter starts.

I hope so, we have a solid base of like 35k that usually show up no matter what. The rest of the fan base seems to only show up when things are going well. Its very frustrating because them not showing up is not helping things get better, its actually contributing to the problem in my opinion.

So for sure something less than 40k based on last year's opener attendance + the fact that ticket sales are down this year.
Height of attendance will be late first quarter/early second. I'm guessing right around 33-35k.

Starts this week but many don't move in until Sunday and Monday, same situation as last year. :(

Morgan State wasnt the opener...Washington was. For a Friday night, we had 46,093

Weather the biggest factor for actual attendance

A few rain drops usually keeps RU fans home unfortunately

I'm hoping for dry skies so there are other fans in my section

Based on the majority of your posts I would think the RU fans who know who you are and sit in your section have changed their seats.

Only busting on you enjoy the game

Don't care. Don't care about the weather. We are going. We will arrive 30 minutes before kickoff, and we will cheer loudly when the team enters the field and on opponent third downs.

For those that care, the attendance will be better on non-holiday weekends, and against better opponents. Our group will arrive 30 minutes before kickoff, and we will cheer loudly when the team enters the field and on opponent third downs.

But I still will not care. Yeah, I cared enough to post, but the attendance-tards for a game like this leave me SMH.

Will laugh at the comments about the student section on Saturday, as they are not even moved back in.

Our four are going, and will be getting there early for face painting and kid zone. Got two extras by email, and secured two more through a friend - so another family of 4 is also making it out with us.

Looks like perfect football weather right now.

Maybe this discussion lends credence to why scheduling Monmouth is not a bad idea. Games like this get better attendance when both schools bring fans.

To be honest, I know very little about Monmouth or Monmouth football. Do they have a big following and lots of fan support in NJ?

Weather now looking great for Saturday! Mostly cloudy, NO RAIN, mid to high 70s.

You need to read the weather thread - no rain is possible, but a few showers are absolutely possible and our fanbase melts easily. If the forecast the day before the game is drier and no rain falls before kickoff, I predict 40K. If the forecast remains iffy and there are a few showers before noon, then I predict 32K.

Considering they are only an hour ride on the GSP they will bring a lot more than any other FCS school or teams like Texas State.

Monmouth would bring more than any FCS school that we would consider playing. But there are CAA schools who would bring more.

Well probably will be around 25K unless they put the boats and sand behind the end zone in the closed end of the stadium that would add at least 20K more......

You are very clueless about what the attendance will be on Saturday.

I have been to every RU home game for the last 13 years. You are the clueless one if you really believe the ‘reported Attendance figures from RU’ or the exaggerated Attendance estimates made by many on this Board after every game { comical at times}.

Do you really think RU was expecting such a big crowd they had to resort to printing massive ( thousands} free tickets to this game. Smarten up clown.

2015 - Morgan State, Saturday before Labor Day, 47,453 and that's the same situation as this game with regard to timing and TX ST is a better opponent.

2017 - Morgan State, week 3, after starting 0-2, including that horrible loss to EMU and we still pulled in 39,800.

Weather was decent for both of those games, iirc, so as I said above, if weather is decent for this game, 40K shouldn't be a problem. If it's raining before the game, 32K.

40k on Labor Day Saturday with high humidity and a noon start?? Please tell me what you are smoking, drinking or ingesting. I need some of that!

As you know those are ‘reported’ Attendance figures. Accounts for all sold, distributed, donated, Staff & Administration, etc. Far far from actual fans in the House unfortunately.
