State offices are closed today, they made that decision around 8pm last nightDid companies let people off today?
Yes. I was on a cactus singing. Must have confused with storm around 76?
Is this real??? All rain?
I'm out in KOP for the week on business and we're smack in the middle of a massive dry slot, right now. It's gonna cut totals in a big way.
I am sure Numbers has extra in his snowglobe to help you out
Im up town and its raining here hahaStarting to snow harder in Hoboken.

The storm is expected to move to about 30 miles off the New Jersey coast, which is why the eastern side of the state is getting more rain than snow, said Sarah Johnson, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service office in Mount Holly."Don't be fooled, worst of the storm yet to come for N.J. - Updates on timing, track"

sounds like a safe place to be when the zombie apocolypse begins
Starting to snow harder in Hoboken.
OT - Watch Oak Island last night? Thought there'd be a cliffhanger. I guess they're going to do another year.
Zarrow says that as the core of the storm approaches it will gat colder and the snow will intensify and collect. He says over by midnight.
To summarize from the 4:14 a.m. map change, looks like a crooked line from Medford, Freehold, New Brunswick to Morristown increased by 1-2".NWS in Philly and NYC just upped snowfall predictions by 1-2" for 95 corridor and near that, plus expanded snowfall a bit towards the coast. They're the pros. Should be here shortly - hearing about heavy snow reports in the southern part of CNJ. Assuming we get 1-2" per hour from noon to 8 pm, thats' your 8-16" - of course some will melt in the beginning of that and ratios will be <10:1, so that's where the NWS has 6-12" on the ground at the end in much of 95 and even 20 miles SE of 95. Storm can still overperform, as many models are indicating, and deliver 12" or more for the 95 corridor (on the ground)

Just changes to snow in Hillsborough...still melting
I always thought that the bigger stuff was starting after 10, so I was not thrilled that everyone called it last night. I think Robbinsvile was the first one in Mercer to call it and everyone just followed suit. Schools are reluctant to call an early dismissal on a whim because of the parent factor and making school lunches. However, they could have just announced an early dismissal at 6 this morning and we would have been good.Word.
Local districts were scared due to the wind storm last week that knocked out power. They forgot that forecasts for snow are often wrong and can easier bust (or miss the predicted timing).
We are at home currently enjoying our rain day off. Even my office closed!
Yep the 10:51 am map change (was 4:14 am) essentially moved the precip/snow from NW to SE taking a bit away from NW areas and adding it to SE areas, since short range models are showing this. Could be wrong, could also be more at the coast. Two very good forecasters on 33andrain are calling for 12" in west-central Monmouth (Freehold to Holmdel). To summarize from the 4:14 a.m. map change, looks like a crooked line from Medford, Freehold, New Brunswick to Morristown increased by 1-2".
Coastal Ocean/Monmouth Up from 0" to <1". Trenton and Doylestown dropped an inch.
Pouring rain in Wall still.
You must be on the other end of Hillsborough from me.... over here in the Neshanic area it's been light snow all morning and total grass coverage (about an inch). Roads and driveway are still black, though.
