I think it's more that Philly fans feel that they are being singled out for behavior that is found in all fan bases. I'll concede they may be SLIGHTLY more troublesome than average but really every fan base does stupid violent **** from time to time. But because they threw snowball at santa the brain dead media who can't be bothered to find a new story after 40 years just keep focusing the light on misbehavior in Philly. Opposing fans jump on board and the stage is set for this conflict.

I for one am not proud of nor do I support the violence or rioting from any fanbase. But I also think that going to a parade for winning a championship is silly. Folks need to get a life on both sides.

It was 50 YEARS ago.

also plenty of this crap...

excuse me but have your had your parade yet

Not the point Chief.

The poster stated there were no riots or destruction during the 4 NY parades and I was simply proving he was full of ****.

There will be 2-3 million people there tomorrow. Of course there will be incidents anytime you have that mass of people together. This country is full of morons and they're not just limited people that call themselves Philly fans.

Seriously though, are you going to edit your posts or what? If I created 1 post (let alone 5) which was FAKE I would be man enough to go back and edit as such.

I'm honestly not sure what to be embarrassed by when half of the incidents called out in this thread as real were fake posts from Twitter trolls.

Still waiting for @bac2therac to update his posts as fake. There were at least 5 that I counted on page 1 of this thread.

That's 1 incident and I haven't seen any reputable report of a Trooper being run over.

How about the other 4 fake stories you posted? Will you edit those?

Waiting for the video of:

- The stolen fire truck rammed through Macy's,
- The stolen Police horse being ridden around,
- The dead guy who fell off a pole
- The person who was shot
- The Trooper who was run over by a 4 wheeler

Until then you should take a time out or edit your posts.

Pretty sure there were not zero arrests during 4 Giant's SB victory celebrations.

Sorry but Philly fans are the worst behaved. You never saw this type and amount of nonsense when the Yankees, Giants, Devils, Rangers won.

You literally never saw it because social media and instant streaming/sharing of these video clips was barely around back then. You're crazy if you think the next Giants SB/Yankees WS won't have similar videos.

And I hate Philly.

Not to mention there wasn't a media outlet called Barstool roaming the streets and instigating/fueling this type of behavior with their "reporting" like they were in Philly.

Wow no one?

I bet if the roles were reversed and this happened at a Philly school such as Temple this board would have a 5 page thread on it by now....
You may have a point if say Temple Basketball or the Sixers win a championship. Most of the ones who are condoning the Eagles celebration would be the same ones calling for the national guard to descend upon North Philly.

ah ha, so it's guilty till proven guilty now. If area riots were after the NY
super bowls, it would have been in the Star Ledger for sure.

Yeah I wanna see links to the actual stories.

I started this policy when the #LYING #FAKEPRESIDENT alluded to "thousands and thousands of Muslims" celebrating 9/11 in NJ. Which was obviously a lie.

So yes, links please.

I hate Trump... (and Clinton as well).
I'm not one of those idiot zealots with an closed agenda.
It's not "thousands," maybe a couple hundred.

But it did happen. I worked in the area back then and West Side Ave was blocked off between Sip and Fox. Plus SOMETHING happened in the same area according to this Pablo Guzman report on WCBS News at the time.

The difference is that the vast majority of Jets and Giants fans do NOT condone or excuse that behavior while Philly fans take perverse pride in that kind of behavior.

No one from in this thread is condoning any bad behavior.

My god some of you people have serious reading comprehension issues.

Agreed. The thread should end. Good Ol keeps making the same patently false statement based on nothing. Let it go already. Hope Philly has a great time tomorrow and the knuckleheads stay home or at least behave.

Oh come on.. even before you found some claims might have been false you were making excuses/spinning for the behaviors.. it was all documented in this thread. Of course you'd like it all to go away now.

No, the poster stated there were no riots or destruction after the victory celebrations. You assumed he meant the official parade held days later. We're referring to the spontaneous post-game celebrations. When the Giants won the Superbowl, there weren't thousands of college students descending on Times Square, some of whom climbed awnings, set fires, smashed storefronts, etc like you see elsewhere. Philly didn't disappoint.

And I did call it, that philly fans would point at the arresst stats to try & prove their point...when it is completely understandable the cops just let everyone run wild. Wasn't the first time, won't be the last.

O was I? Go back and dig up my post where I made excuses/spun behaviors. You won't find any.

I made it pretty clear that:

1) I don't condone any of the illegal behavior that occured
2) Bac posted at least 5 false incidents and refuses to edit his posts
3) What happened in Philly Sunday pales in comparison to what's occured in other cities
4) There are idiots everywhere including (including NYC despite this boards popular opinion)
5) Everything these days gets posted on video/social media and you also now have people like Barstool filming and interviewing people instigating bad behavior across the country
6) I spent 3 hours walking 5 + miles through the Art museum, City Hall and Broad street and the worst I saw were illegal fireworks, people standing on new stands and a few on light poles, and heard a few bottles smashed. Yes there were isolated incidents but area was not a war zone like people want to believe.

If you want to call that spinning and making excuses you're wrong.

He said "in NY's 4 super bowl wins" so any person with a little common sense would take that to mean post celebration and/or parade.

So we should just ignore the arrests and destruction in NYC during the 08 Super Bowl parade? Lol.

Another poster with reading comprehension issues, but nice try.
