Just out of curiosity, what are you referring to about Obama? I do think during his later POTUS years he didn't do as good a job at connecting with a wide variety of people but I don't know that that would translate into "too good for us."
The tariffs aren't the endgame, but you know that. Obamacare costs from Obama are already impacting me, I'll be glad when it's completely removed. Anything else?

My personal (scratch insurance) healthcare costs skyrocketed once Obamacare kicked in. My copays went away and everything went 80/20 again. For me personally, he broked it.

Agreed, but dropping the individual mandate just made them that much more costlier to us positive members of society.

I think Obama is a great politician in some ways but a bad one in others and the above quote of him from that article is an example of the latter. Putting people into tribes (identity politics) is one of the reasons Hillary lost that election. Identity politics ramped up more and more during Obama's Presidency and he didn't push back against it enough.
And that was my biggest issue with the Obama presidency. Policy wise I wasn't going to agree with him on most things but I remember watching him speak in Chicago after he won the election in 2008. I thought to myself that he has an amazing chance to unite the country. Unfortunately he chose to play Chicago politics while in office which just divided the country even more. And that is how we have Trump today.
That's a result of a mandate without enforcement. Insurance companies could dump expensive folks before. Now they can't. Now they are capped on max rates relative to basic rates which makes those higher. If the healthy insured pool was larger, rates wouldn't be as high on average. I fault the toothless penalties for not getting insurance. This only succeeds if everyone is in the pool. If you make the penalties cheaper than buying insurance, you undermine your own plan.
You need to understand, you’re in a very protected enclave being a Govt employee. You don’t see what industry sees. It’s not the real world in Govt.
