This is such a great example.

Like I said, I do not think Arik should be free of consequences, not at all.

I just feel that the NCAA lame asses that, for some reason, were unable to look at a piece of paper over the course of like 6 weeks, need to be held accountable. It is not like they were unaware of the season getting ready to start.

And it is not their place to operate from a place of "questioning" ones reasons or motives.

It is there job to look at a file and say yes/no. But they did neither.

People with mental issues, no matter what those issues are and in your sons case, stress, anxiety, fear (I would imagine), well, all of that just gets amped up when you don't know.

Gilbert was essentially in a "waiting room", while waiting to hear news from the doctor...only the doctor never came out to give him information. That is brutal.

That 100% does not excuse his actions, not at all. It does though make the NCAA dorks accountable for THEIR (lack) of actions.
In my son’s case, the tumor was in an area that affected his memory and cognitive abilities. So he was prone to erratic behavior and questionable decision making anyway. He was normally pretty good at understanding that and keeping it somewhat in check, but it was like he said ‘F it, whatever happens happens’ for those 5 weeks. 🤪

The NCAA has made all kinds of decisions on cases like this and there was already a pretty good precedent set. So why suddenly drag their feet on this one out of the blue? And they wonder why no one has any respect for them anymore.

How do you know that they didn't deny the request and Rhule was waiting on the appeal. Those other cases were all done around the same time. It might have not been made public on the ruling as Rhule was in the process of appeal.

The bondage of nicotine is no different than the bondage of opiates, alcohol, high calorie food, etc. People can dump on Arik all they want, but those of us who have had "nicotine fits" know you can do some pretty strange S$%^ to get your tobacco fix.

That’s the most ridiculously ignorant statement I’ve ever heard. Nicotine addiction is nothing like opiate addiction in any way shape or form. You obviously know less than nothing about addiction and should probably never speak on the subject till you better educate yourself. The physical addiction to opiates is the most debilitating form addiction known to man. The withdrawal symptoms are so severe that long term addicts will die if they go cold turkey off of opioids. If they stop, without supplementing their body with either suboxone or methadone they will go into seizures, cardiac arrest and die. Most long term opioid addicts it takes them 2-3 years to fully get clean and feel normal again. And that’s if they follow the recovery plan to a T.

Please don’t ever compare nicotine addiction to opioid addiction. It makes you look like an ignorant fool.

Dude definitely has a mental illness and should’ve stuck with football because he’s laughably terrible at crime.
