I laughed way too loud for far too long about this...RollingLaugh
I wish I was kidding. I can still remember being out with friends at a bar...and saying "Yeah, this won't be a big thing, who is going to want to have a phone with them all the time and plus, people don't want to be in constant communication with others".

UGGGGGG!

It was initiated by petition circulated by out of state interests. One of the reasons Noem wanted that AG gone stemmed from his language explaining that ballot. Then he went and killed a person walking on a highway shoulder at night

Probably.. but alcohol is already legal. If both were illegal today you’d have a leg to stand on, but your myopic viewpoint is your proverbial ball and chain.. good luck with that
They’re starting to find more health problems associated with weed use as it’s become more prevelant.

So because the people of SD elected an incompetent AG any voting results on ballots he put forth should be able to be overturned?

If the vote turned out the way the governor wanted - despite having the same language- would there have been issue?

It was overturned because it was a multi-issue ballot measure which their Supreme Court has always held as unconstitutional.

I actually knew the AG fairly well from a service organization we both belonged to. He’s a good guy but probably in over his head in that job. He got the nomination because their were 2 other candidates who tore each other up and he snuck in as an alternative. Once he got the Republican nomination he was virtually assured of winning the election. The Democrat alternative was not great.

Is it really necessary for the Gov of SC to offer her thoughts on a song by a B-list country dude bro?
Maybe educate yourself a little. She is friends with the writers. This Karen cancel culture is a problem in this country.
She is a public figure. You’re not.

Makes no difference to me when alcohol kills tens of thousands and ruins countless families.
I don’t have an asthma attack from somebody drinking next to me. Keep it out of my and my grandkids’ airspace and I don’t care. I had a couple of guys installing windows for me a clfew weeks ago. They came back from lunch giggling high and they really screwed up some extension jambs. Scary to think they were driving a large truck.

I'm calling ********. They knew what they were voting for....and when it passed excuses were made to undo it.
Politicians on both sides are for freedom when it helps them maintain power but suddenly they would love to confuse and discourage voting and voter/personal freedoms when they feel it hurts their perfect ideal of society. I imagine we would still have slavery in a few states or more if "the people" got what they thought they wanted. Do we really want the majority to rule or do we want elite representatives to make our decisions for us?

both, a democratic republic...democratic to combat tyranny, republic to fight mob rules.
but both the voter and elected need to be mostly regenerate..otherwise it's all for not.

You specifically mention asthma. Cigarette smoke doesn't bother you? If you are concerned about some idiots driving high then you probably don't want to know about all the drunk drivers out there.

Seems like the argument for years was that people were against cannabis because it illegal. Now there is a wave of legalization and all the sudden health is being brought up more and more. Which holds no weight with me when you look at alcohol and cigarettes.

lol dude thats way too wordy and full of medical mumbo jumbo and you know it. The potheads could have just put "legalize pot yes or no" and didnt for a reason, they wanted confusion.

"clearly". Laughable
Sorry you don't know how to read that well?

Dude.. it’s confusing..

You know it, I know it and your grandma that voted for it knows it
Grandma doesn't live in SD so she didn't vote for it. If something is so confusing that you don't understand it why are you voting on it without getting a full understanding?

Also, once upon a time, America wasn't full of a bunch of tyrants who control everyone and commies who bend over and take it, and so a song like this would not have been written and, if it were, CMT would not have censored it.

Once upon a time.
Who are the tyrants who control CMT? Are we talking some kind of governmental control? Or is this just an instance of a private company making a decision you don’t like?

And they’ve limited cigarette smoking tremendously since my dad smoked 2+ packs/day. If people think that inhaling smoke from burning ragweed isn’t going to affect their health and the health of their children, they’re delusional. That said, go ahead and light up. I don’t know any carpenters who come back drunk from lunch. I’m sure there’s some. I’m not sure why you’re using alcohol as an excuse though. I wasn’t advocating for driving under the influence.

Wait until they start looking into alcohol. I hear it can be severely abused.
That doesn’t justify smoking pot. I get that you guys are pro pot crusaders. I’m not the throw the potheads in jail guy. Just be aware that there are negative health effects. My main concern right now in states that have legalized it is the rise in organized crime with bootleg gang illegal grow and distribution networks. It’s out of control.

I'm referring to the reason the song was written in the first place, and your post about politicians in the past not talking about songs. It's a larger picture thing about our government and the commies supporting it over the past five years, and you know that.

Yes, CMT can do what they want. But ten years ago they would not have censored a song like this.

Cheated on his first wife once he hit stardom I believe., then ditched her. I could be wrong, but if true, yet another reason the guy is a tool.

I don't see where health matters in this discussion at all. Our whole society makes poor health choices. Seems like an excuse.

And I'm not ok with driving under the influence. I know people who drive drunk all the time. Really doesn't have anything to do with the legalization of weed other than to use it as a reason to not legalize.

Growing up in a small town (pop. 852), I was hoping for a much better song.
Give me Hal Ketchum's Small Town Saturday Night. My favorite and most accurate small town song. Along with maybe Seger's Night Moves and some Mellencamp.

I don't care if he had an affair with a hundred different women or his wife denied him sex for the last 10 years or anything in between. I think his current wife is a total babe, and I'd love to watch her change nylons.
I can see why your wife got plowed by your counselor
