Tell my why you get so erect for HH?

He fvcking sucks, so bad that he is two years in and hasn’t taken a snap in a game.
Erect on Young Men? Only if he's gay

Haarberg has a long way to go, but I don't personally ever write someone off due to one bad performance. I am going to put it to you like this. Casey Thompson is afraid of competition and because of that I'd rather not have him.

That mentality is ruining the game of College Football

I will put it to you like this… even if CT is afraid of competition, I’d rather he stayed, because we saw what he can do.

If we simplify the offense to primarily running, read option, and triple option, then sure. Maybe we can find some success still behind HH and Purdy as backups. I wonder if Rhule will make such an adjustment though, should they find Sims going down at any point this season?
Guessing we wont score if we do that.

Is it competition, or fit?

I'm guessing the whole "old school" football Rhule talks about for us includes dominant d with strong running game. Limit conventional passing and run option, we might score ok even with HH or Purdy in at backup. HH almost ran an option in for a TD from beyond the red zone in the spring game.

The key will be defense, and we're young but already got pieces in place and scheme to match.

lol... sounds about right.

Completely unrelated question... how far above the scholly limit was CU prior to "Coach Prime's" (so gay) spring game? Just curious where we're stacking up there... anyone have that info at the tip of their brain?

should CT have stayed at Texas and competed
should Palmer have stayed at LSU and competed
what about Sims at GT ... the Georgia transfers .. Ben Scott

are those moves weak AF?
Maybe he should have stayed at Texas , I can’t answer fir Sims , but Trey wanted to play for Mickey , Scott at ASU the NCAA is investigating wanted a fresh start somewhere, the Georgia guys bad example. They knew guys in front were just flat out better. Casey has done this twice now , so maybe he has a hard Time with competing.

Certainly.

I'm not sure what the coaching staff could have done differently here.

It's not surprising at all that they were unwilling to stand pat on the QB room; hitching next year's wagon to a guy that was injured and at least had a chance of not recovering, backed up by Purdy, Smothers, and HH.

I don't know what else they COULD have done other than recruit another starter in here.

I doubt Casey wants to spend the coming season wearing a head set and holding a clipboard and those are live possibilities for him in Lincoln.
Yeah this is what I was worried about as I just couldn’t see either guy being ok in the backup role.

Sounds like a fair argument…..but it’s not. Start a thread about other transfer kids and we can discuss them uniquely. This discussion is about Casey, who is either running from competition….again, or got told to bounce. Could’ve been told he was 3rd or 4th string when healthy. Could’ve been told that he won’t heal up in time to matter and a transfer is best for him for 2024. Not sure. We discuss topics based on the optics of the moment.

Because I couldn’t give a **** about Deion Sanders… was curious how far Colo was above their scholarship limit vs us before the portal attrition started. People made a huge deal about folks bailing out after their spring game, wanted to see if anyone knew of what we’re seeing now was comparable.

Let the musical QB chairs begin. Casey will start at a P5 program next season and it’s likely he already knows which one. Now we seriously need a capable backup. Unless the current backups can be coached a million times better than last year, the room just went from pretty good to horrifying.
It could be worse, we could be Colorado.

And we sucked more when he wasn’t starting..
Ok.... And the coaches bought Simms who they must like. Are people that naive and that they thought 2 qbs with multiple powr5 starts would be in the roster? Not in the portal days

The whorns have 2 quality QB but you’re right that isn’t the norm and Manning is just a fresh puppy..

Simple reaction here. Good QB, no
Guts. Should’ve expected as much form a ex longhorn. Best of luck. If you don’t wanna be here, we don’t want you here. **** him, respectfully. GBR

Not from me… I’ve liked your takes to date, but if he’s going elsewhere, so be it. I’m not gonna puke on the guy.

That said, if others pile on, I understand.

Not sure where I puked on him. Said he was a good QB. Wished him the best of luck. I even said respectfully! Besides that don’t think we should be putting too much more thought into somebody who obviously wasn’t all N. Please respect my decision

In ways I think it might be better for the team. Sims is now the clear starting qb so the team can gel behind him. I personally think he’s gonna kick some ***.

why? he's never done anything worthwhile here and if star rankings are any barometer he's gotten worse. not to mention 2 season-ending injuries.

we don't need smothers or torres (a zero star player with zero P5 offers) back. it's time to move forward.

this coaching staff has my full support.
Torres was a Rivals 5.5, 3 star and had offers from KSU, Utah, and Washington St. Not sure if they were committable offers though.

The die was probably cast when they brought in Sims and Rhule had watched every one of CT’s game reps before he did that.

I don’t get all the hate??? Likely Rhule told him he would be number 2 based on their evaluation of him last year and what they are seeing from Sims. Having communication like this gives the guys the option to look elsewhere. He’s been a multiple year starter at blue blood programs and doesn’t want to wear a headset in his last opportunity. If anyone else was in a similar situation at a job they would likely look for another opportunity. I hope this tells me that Sims is a beast because CT looked solid last year. Best of luck to CT - memories of the Iowa game with laying it out to Trey were awesome and I hope he rocks at the next place he goes to. Hate the QB room got smaller but I totally get it.

Autocorrect… piled not puked. To me, piled on isn’t as bad as puked on. Fwiw.

Not a big deal, just thought F ‘em was a bit strong. Again, for those who feel that way, I get it.

If he can’t beat out Jeff Sims he’s probably better off wearing a headset.

if you say so

coming from a guy who has repeatedly said a player with a career 45.8% completion rate (at 3 yards/attempt) "can win some games". comical, indeed.
At least he’s played some big boy ball. What’s HH’s career percentage? I like HH and nothing would make me more happy to see him succeed. But what’s the deal with your weird infatuation and over the top defense of him? Seems unhealthy. What’s he got on you? Career ending d!&k pics? Financial records? Maybe some one could help you out here.

We need a really freakin good HS QB or two this class.
Need to get on it right away. Still a few undecided in the top 25

If somehow we land DR, my blood pressure will go way down… but that looks unlikely at the moment

I dont know why people are so enamored with LS, he is a 3rd string option at best. Yes he can scramble but cant really throw the ball with any consistency.

Keep your blood pressure medicine handy we aren’t landing Dylan. Rhule will be fine trust the process.

No worries there… like I said initially, you routinely bring good stuff. If this is the first time I felt like we didn’t see eye to eye (and it is), there’s a lot I do agree with you on.

A lot.

Soooo….after starting at Texas and Nebraska there are no options to be successful at another D1 program? Got it.
No. The point is that his football career as a player most likely ends after this next fall if he couldn’t beat out Sims at NU.
