Northwestern is not a terrible team this year. Last year they were but are much improved this year. They will win some games In the BIG-10.
In reality he is throwing a temper tantrum being upset that he isn’t the one calling the plays any more..
And with that decision to onside kick he better think twice putting his assistance under the bus..
In reality, Northwestern played basic football on offense and just waited for Nebraska to implode.
People were so pumped that Feist earned a blackshirt. Maybe it's not a good sign if a short, light walk-on is in the 2 deep on the DL? I'm not saying he is specifically the problem, but if that's all we got it's gonna be another long season.
He earned it as a walk-on, but I was very surprised he started the game or played so many snaps..
That was a concern of mine during the 4Q…
Every coach knows this formula, which is why all our losses are so predictable any more.
I have a feeling we would have seen more of Drew if he was here for all of fall camp. Also, Wynn, although talented, just hasn't been in that many games during his college career.
They do have a tough schedule but I think they’ll beat Illinois when NW hosts.

It's not a good look for frost, but I kind of agree. We murdered them last year with the perimeter run game. We ran one play to Ajay that was an easy 8 or 9 yards outside. Otherwise, everything was between the tackles.
3-4 isn't the problem. plenty of good defenses, college and pro, have been 3-4. The guy running said 3-4 is the problem
This is perfect axample of just how horrible of a coach this "Scott fraud" is...he is just now figuring out that you need to be creative in the B1G?
The loss was bad enough, but making this comment after the game may be even as bad. So many take-a-ways from this comment by not only the coaching staff but by the players. Did Frost actually think this would be a motivational comment to his coaches and help things? Instead of a private staff meeting with his offensive coaches to address this, he decided instead to tell the "media".
Maybe it's time to stop looking for short cuts and actually win a game in the trenches?

Had all the momentum and looked sharp until the onside kick special teams meltdown, which led to the team once again folding like a cheap tent.
But that fits in with Frost's entire "No fear of failure" mantra, which has to be the dumbest philosophy to ever be trotted out in a game built on team, assignment, and discipline.
That philosophy has led to 4+ years of
-****** ball control
-****** penalties
-****** special teams play in all facets
-****** game management by QB's and coaches
-****** clock management
That's how you lose 457 one-score games in a row. Because one or more of the above bite you in every game to the tune of 10-14 points. Which turns your 7-10 point advantage into another "L".
Not afraid to fail.

Every person associated with this program wanted you to succeed here. All necessary resources were in place for that to happen. You rode the horses and philosophy you brought with you right into the ditch.

Callahan really wasn't that bad. That 5-7 record in 2007 with a very difficult schedule following two straight winning seasons (with an appearance in the Big 12 championship) seems almost unattainable now. I do wonder how he would have done if given one more season and the opportunity to replace the DC. That season the "Tradition Coalition" was undermining the program from within and that is something that to this day negatively affects the program.
Pelini benefitted from Callahan's recruits the first two years, which were also his best years. Pelini is better than Frost, but only because he beat the teams that were less talented. Every time NU met a good team that wasn't hobbled by something (like the heavily injured Georgia team) they got blasted.

I'd like to see more "creativity" in the run game.... Nebraska doesn't seem to climb to the 2nd level defenders in the zone scheme very well.... NW did a great job on the combo blocking to the LBs... Nebraska had one nice gap scheme run on the counter trey to Grant for the TD, which felt like the only run he got to make a move at the 2nd level...
You have to be creative? Like play good defense? Have at least one sack? A good running back. A coach that does onside kick up 11 is not creative. A coach that puts in running back or your quarterback at the goal line is creative. A shuttle pass would be creative. A flea flicker creative. A running back throwing the ball creative.
No they scored 2 TD’s in the second half but zero in the 4th Q..

They scored 14 in the second half. Along with the 14 they scored in the first half that should always be enough to beat NW.
That same year Iowa beat NE 40-10. And despite the beat down, 2016 was NE’s last season with a winning record.
