Haha...I know!

It is posts like that guy that make me realize how normal I am compared to sooooo many people.

"Tell Logan to take a knee!"

"But coach it is 1st and 10 and the first play of the game?!"

"TAKE A ****ING KNEE!"
It’s the offense from waterboy

Either way, Smothers is not a good runner. We're not going to be able to count on his legs like you could with McCaffrey.
Maybe. Maybe not. Acting like we've seen enough to know one way or the other is laughable. The play that is being discussed here happened because Stepp got destroyed by the linebacker he was attempting to block.

Doesn't matter the outcome, I got what I wished for, and I am glad. OK, so no one gets bent, I didn't wish for AM to get injured. I don't want the young man injured in any way. But, I couldn't be happier to see what Smothers and Haarberg can do with some prep time going into the off season. I also hope Scott doesn't set them up for failure so he can tell everyone, Told you so. Wish I didn't even have to think that was a possibility. But, TBH, I do fear that.
Haarberg is not the answer. Perhaps down the road but if he was that good he would have been playing.

The Anti-A-Marters are a bit worried right now.

Huskers just put up 450 yards, on the road, vs "the best defense ever"

Now they are at home vs a lame *** Iowa team.

Lets see how the offense looks.
I ain't worried about ****. I have a 40 game sample size for AM. I know what he is

I not going to lie,but I really feel for MartInez not playing in this game regardless if he has never brought us from behind this is a game where I could see Nebraska jumping out to a 2 score lead by halftime and winning this game not having to come from behind…

Tough crowd. Can we watch Smothers play significant snaps before cancelling him off the list.

Where is Rambo at? He was screaming for a different QB all season. Curious what his thoughts are. But I have a feeling he isn't happy if Haarberg isn't the starter

I haven’t seen or heard from him in quite sometime now on HOL..

He finally gets his wish under the circumstances I’d rather not have.. Martinez is still the best we have and I hope Smothers plays well and even brings us a win but there was a reason why Martinez was our starter because no one else could beat him out..

Now Smothers gets his big opportunity…

We don’t know **** about either backup QB. To suggest otherwise is just silly, but, you know, the internet is going to internet.

That might make it worse. And again I'm all in with Smothers. He might have that it factor that I do believe Martinez doesn't quite have.

I'm just not gonna bash Martinez on his way out the door. Dude has had basically zero help around him and has played hurt almost his entire career. I gotta respect that. If you don't that's fine too.
Much of what you said makes me think of Jamaal Lord as well as AMart.
Did not like either as a QB but I can't fault them for seemingly giving their all and playing tough throughout their careers.
Where I can, and I think most people feel this way, find fault is with their head coaches for not finding better QBs to supplant them or at the very least be a viable option for when they are hurt or playing like crap.
I really believe most people don't really dislike AMart. It's simply misdirected frustration for Frost and staff not finding someone better. And at the very least doing such a **** job of finding him Wr and OL help.

We know that smothers is pretty damn fast.. We also know that he looked pretty decent in In his one meaningful series. That is until a holding call derailed that drive. Which is something that Martinez had to deal with several times a game.

And Iowa has no film on the QB that will line up against them. I like the Huskers to win and it could be by multiple scores.
Short week, inexperienced QB regarding getting snaps with the first team offense. Nebraska does not have a dominant running back nor do they have any dominate WR's to throw to.

No wonder the pt spread has flipped on this game.

Very intrigued and excited for the opportunity Smothers has and if Haarberg gets some snaps even better. If he looks bad or make mistakes I'm not going to write them off and I wasn't expecting much this week regardless, but this is a great opportunity going into the spring and next season. It's a short week against a decent defense, lets see what the kid has before writing him off.

It's not just that play. He's looked slow and indecisive running the ball in most of the plays I've seen of him.

I like our chances vrs two freshman QBs! Yea AM is a turnover machine but he is also 70% of your offense! We didn't have to knock your starter out this time... Wisconsin did it for us! Iowa by 10+
10+ huh? Same number as yo momma's UTIs............last month.

Send that crippled up Martinez our way. I suspect he could win the starting job for Iowa. Didn't he just become the all time total offense leader for nebraska? He's your best player.

one thing nobody can deny frost recruited the 2 backups and failed to bring in anyone else to challenge his golden boy. if they do well then hats off to frost. if not then it's all on him. ta is now hitched to the same wagon. high stakes poker.

we held the record for big 10 holding calls coming into the season, if we had them wear boxing gloves with the thumb attached, would it effect the big ten calling them?

No idea. Maybe. But Smothers is gonna have to deal with very average oline play, something Martinez had to do for 4 seasons.

I hope he lights it up. Maybe he has whatever Martinez is missing.

So you've seen the lack of a supporting cast.
He's had skill outside minus last year. He holds the ball too long, throws off his back foot and makes bone head plays far too often.

If Smothere and Nebraska lose to Iowa by 3 to 10 points because he has a turnover or 2, what's the difference?

As beat up as Martinez was since Minnesota I blame frost for not playing smothers in the second half of that game and all of the Purdue game, and yes we probably would have lost them but it didn’t gain frost and the team playing a hurt Martinez because we freaking lost anyway if smothers played in those games he’d be a lot more experienced and Martinez might be fresh
