So i came to see the meltdown on this board with no intention of commenting, however, after reading some of posts I think you guys need to hear some hard truths. I am a 32 year old die hard college football fan, but not until Frost was thinking about leaving UCF did I ever know anything about your storied history.

The fact is this. Nebraska is no longer relevant and never will be again. I am not saying you wont have a 7 win or 8 win season every decade or so but any national relevance is over and has been dead for 20+ years. The landscape has shifted and the major brands who have had recent major success along with those who offer prime location for NIL will prosper. You unfortunately are neither. Scott Frost was going home but your future hires will be made up of G5 coaches few have heard of hoping to get a quick pay day.

I am not trying to troll and truly wished scott frost success but somebody had to tell you the truth.

Excellent post and very true. Sad to watch a fan base long for years past. You are right they will never be relevant again. Sort of like a steel town 50 years ago, now a part of the rust belt of college football.

Frost lost my support today. You can't talk about wanting to have a physical run game and all the other off-season talk and do the exact same **** he has been doing the last 3 seasons.

I'd go after Matt Campbell to see if he is willing to leave Iowa State since things have changed in the college football landscape. Another guy I'd look at is the new Kansas coach. He was winning at Buffalo and won at that D3 school.

No head coach, no matter what the name is, should keep a job ith 4 straight losing seasons and that is what Forst will have at season end.

Jamey Chadwell is coastal Carolinas hc. His wishbone spread would with GREAT with our current players and the types we're able to recruit around these parts. His buyout would be minimal and he'd probably love to make the jump. We need to get back to power football, albeit in this spread age

Campbell has turned down NFL jobs to stay at ISU, he's not leaving to take over this dumpster fire. The only job he'd leave for is Ohio State.

Malzahn will only leave UCF for an SEC job.

Everything Campbell turned down was turned down when ISU was a rising program in the Big 12 conference which appeared to have a future as a power conference. I would think if ISU has another good season, he'd be crazy not to listen to offers now.

He might listen to Michigan. He's not coming to Nebraska.

How soon can we let Frost go? Basically, we need to move on and get the best that is interested. Do it now.

I like what you are thinking. Young coach, runs a system that is more appropriate for Nebraska (why Frost never adjusted to what needs to be ran at Nebraska I will never understand) and he only getis paid $850k so you can easily get him for the money alone.

Campbell knew he had a great team this year but trust me he’s gone after this season as long as someone offers enough. He knows how to win with some 4 and a bunch of 3 star dudes as well

Campbell worked at ISU because there was no culture or pressures in place and the program was on a slight upward trajectory. He was given complete control to rework things to his vision. I don’t think he would be allowed that same freedom at many other schools, including Nebraska, and that’s why I never see him leaving for another school unless he sees a major step up that is a good fit. I think he will have the option for Michigan or OSU soon and he will leave for that.

Thank you! I like to think so, albeit another G5 coach is a gamble. At this point though, what do we got to lose?

I think it's going to be very hard to find a big name coach that will be interested, but maybe someone will want the job if you pay enough.

I'd create a list, start at the top, and work your way down. First guy you call is the head coach at Iowa State and make him say no while you work on other guys too.

I personally think Matt would be a good fit at Nebraska and he is a believer in the running game.

For the life of me I have no clue why Frost never established the run game going into his 4 year. He can go live at some G5 school the rest of his life. He will be fine and Nebraska needs to move on to a new guy again.

Don't know where you come up with the Campbell turned down NFL jobs but don't think that's correct. He is by far the best coach available today and was when Nebraska hired Frost.

Before TX and OK left, I would have agreed with you. The future of the Big12 looks bleak at best and ISU could easily end up as a MAC or CUSA team. I would not at all be surprised to see Campbell leave after this year.

Malzahn and Campbell are both at better jobs right now. I think you could go after a guy who wanted into the B1G in the worst way, has already been at a bigger job and is still young enough to make a splash. Tom Herman would be my pick today.

Freeze won at Ole Miss. I'd offer him the job tomorrow. He already started to win at Liberty with players nobody has heard of.

Recruiting would immediately get better. Can't get any worse than this class anyways.

Not surprisingly as a UCF fan you have zero idea what you’re talking about in terms of branding.

And if you believe the above then I hate to tell you…UCF is ******.

This. The dude can win as HC. And at least when he cheats he gets results. So I second this.

We should have gone after a QB in the portal after AMs 2nd season

*Before AM's 1st season.

Frost should have begged Joe Burrow to come here. Probably at least gets us to a bowl the first season, and gives the program some positive momentum.

Frost losing his first 6 games just killed all of the momentum and confidence that was there when he was first hired.

i know conventional wisdom says the question is,
‘whats the better job, now?’
but the question might really be,
‘could the job be better than what i have, now…?’
and then look it over and ask,
‘is the only way to go, up?’
‘and am i following a legend…?’
if yes, yes, & no, then its surely compelling.
