Expect the Huskers to lay the wood to the Jays this weekend. You heard it here. No inside game .for Crayton. Couldn’t handle the KU bigs.
could have won the game with better free throw shooting alone9-18 on free throws.
Two best shooters were 5-16 from 3.
14 turnovers.
One-point loss to the #5 team in the nation
Highly doubt neb will lay any wood
well right now the only "BIG" we have playing much is the Flying Frenchman and he's not all that big. That lack of an inside game will be a problem for NU all year IMO or at least until we get the transfer off of suspension.Expect the Huskers to lay the wood to the Jays this weekend. Nebraska couldn’t lay the wood even if they were carpenters.Expect the Huskers to lay the wood to the Jays this weekend. You heard it here. No inside game .for Crayton. Couldn’t handle the KU bigs.
OH MY GOD - THAT IS HILARIOUS! Who are you in real life???? Must be in comedy because that is GOLD!Nebraska couldn’t lay the wood even if they were carpenters.
This is an honest question, and don't think I'm trying to be a butt head. Do you understand the game of basketball? Your point is well taken about Banton and matchups. BUT, Nebraska struggled against Nevada in part because our outside shots weren't falling and Nevada had a large human being to rebound and defend the paint. I don't care how tall you are, in D-1 basketball and especially the B1G you still need some beef in the paint. IF we continue to shoot the way we've shot from outside in every game other than McNeese State, it will be problematic for us. Hell NDSU gave NU fits most of the game with their rebounding and big man. We pulled away late but we struggled for a good part of the game.This is an honest question, and don't think I'm trying to be a butt head. Do you understand the game of basketball? Basketball is about mismatches, and that doesn't only mean "If the other team has a 7 footer we can't win. Do you realize most "Bigs" account for less than 10% of the scoring on most teams. Mismatches come in all forms, and we got Creighton beat in a few spots.
We have Banton who is going to be a nightmare for any team we face.
Four guys that create their own shots whenever they want in Allen, Banton, McGowens and Webster
A grade A defense with probably a top 10 defender in the nation in Mcgowens. A bruiser in Stevenson and mismatch city with Banton.
Our weakness is post play, but I do not think Creighton puts any nightmare figure like Garza down low.
Creighton may beat us, but it will not be a blowout like people think this year. This team is more athletic then our 2018 team, and I didn't that would be possible.
Kansas is overrated this year. I've watched them a couple times. Creighton didn't play all that well and almost won the game today. I know transitivity doesn't mean anything in college sports, but we did beat NDSU by 22 and KU struggled with them only beating them by 4. Of course that probably just means Creighton will hammer us.
We need to go 1-1 this week. 2-0 I would be surprised.Yeah - I’m not liking NU’s chances Friday.
OTOH, they do have a good shot at beating GaTech.
Self has been struggling to get the 1 and Done's in recent years. Kansas aren't world beaters this year. i'd be surprised if they win the XII.KU also struggled with Kentucky, who was blown out against a bad Georgia Tech team. KU is a top 5 team as much as NU is.
Creighton has not impressed me. They aren't as athletic as they've been in the past don't see an NBA guy on the roster and McDermott has seemingly forgotten how to coach defense since they joined the BE.This is an honest question, and don't think I'm trying to be a butt head. Try harder.
Love your optimism and hope you are right but think you are overvaluing some of the players. Some of these guys can get off shots but will they be good shots, makable shots?This is an honest question, and don't think I'm trying to be a butt head. Do you understand the game of basketball? I honestly think you don't get it.

Read the hoop game day outlook today on here.Really hope you are right about the Banton “nightmare”. On the negative, he’s a poor outside shooter, he can be sloppy with the ball under pressure and his lateral quickness is not good enough to contain too notch guards. Doesn’t matter much against Summit League and McNeese State but a number of times guards just went past him, it will be more difficult in the B1G. On the positive he has good vision in his passing, his length leads to a lot of blocks and rebounds for a guard. He’s a good addition, unique skill set but opposing coaches will not lose sleep over him.
I've been a fan of Banton since he took down the Badgers as a freshman at Western Kentucky. But come on, man. Banton has a long way to go before he gets an NBA combine invite, let alone be a lottery pick."IF" Banton finds a 3 point stroke this year, we may have ourselves a lottery pick on our team. He is a guy that can get a triple double on a regular basis. The best part is the other teams know they need to make him the focus and that is when McGowens and Allen can take the advantage. Banton is a nightmare for other coaches whether you want to admit it or not.
I repeat he is a 3pt shot away from being a lottery pick. He adds that threat he is a 6'9 player that can do everything.I've been a fan of Banton since he took down the Badgers as a freshman at Western Kentucky. But come on, man. Baylor is the cream of the BIG 12. Up hill climb for the JayhawksSelf has been struggling to get the 1 and Done's in recent years. Kansas aren't world beaters this year. i'd be surprised if they win the XII.
It will be interesting to see. I see that being a big question, as it doesn't seem like there are a lot of examples of guys drastically improving their 3pt shooting at his age. Either they are a shooter or they aren't, and at 21% for his career he's got a long ways to go.I repeat he is a 3pt shot away from being a lottery pick.
A ton of NBA players drastically improve their 3pt shot by working at it. Blake Griffin is one example, but it happens frequently.It will be interesting to see. I'm always skeptical when someone tells me a "ton" of guys do something "frequently". Did you want to re-check Blake's stats and edit your post? Because he was 30% from 3 in college (already 9% better than Banton) and improved to 33% in the NBA. Let's agree that a 3% improvement isn't drastic.A ton of NBA players drastically improve their 3pt shot by working at it. Blake Griffin is one example, but it happens frequently.
Sadly, Nebraska is hardly ever ready to play Creighton. Creighton has a system set in place and always seems to have experienced players who are ready to win early in the season. Nebraska always seems to have fresh faces due to the influx of transfers in the Miles and Hoiberg eras.Expect the Huskers to lay the wood to the Jays this weekend. You heard it here. Banton is already the same age Roby was when he got drafted in the second round. If he has a good season this year, he could get on some NBA teams' radar screens. Follow that up with a solid junior season and I could see him getting drafted, but his chances of being a lottery pick are tiny.I repeat he is a 3pt shot away from being a lottery pick. He adds that threat he is a 6'9 player that can do everything.
Let's compare him to Roby who I was also high on as a freshman and people laughed when I said he'd be drafted.
Ball Handling = Banton
Size = Roby (Slight)
Explosiveness = Roby
Speed = Banton
Court Awareness = Banton
Height = Tie
Shot = Banton (although only slight)
Assists = Banton
Mentality = Banton
Leadership = Banton
Roby was drafted at 45, you tell me exactly why I am crazy. He is a 3pt shot away from being a lottery pick. He is a 6'9 point guard, yes that is a lottery pick type player. He gets range in his shot, he is unguardable. That is the part you don't get
