People who have zero first-hand knowledge of the situation should NOT speculate and they should just let the legal process take its course. IF you have that personal knowledge then you should provide your phone number and contact information to the authorities instead of posting on a message board.
100% correct. Obviously nobody here will have first hand knowledge. This is a msg board, a place to discuss, argue, speculate, and give opinions. Not everyone is going to agree with everything said. That is ok. I believe we are all adults and should act accordingly.

No, if Frost is consistent, he won't want the kid in his program, because he wants kids of good character in his program.

If Frost were to allow him to stay in the program, he is going to get crucified.
Or he could be viewed as a guy of honor who sticks by and supports his players no matter what. A coach who mentors and teach, and helps his guys get through tough times and stupid mistakes. A coach who tries to turn a troubled kids life in the right direction.
Lets be honest there are over 100 players on this team. I guarantee not all are perfect little saints. As I stated earlier Mckewon touch on the possible penalty side a little bit the other day. Similar things have happened before at other university's. The kids got probation under the law and suspension by the university. I have a feeling that we are going to see a similar thing happen here.

I wonder what people's perception of this whole episode would be if the story was "University of Iowa (or Ohio State) running back Maurice Washington...."

I would think mo would have to gain almost 2500 rushing yards next year for this to blow over
Given the turnover in the news cycle, this will be churned into the other stuff before Spring Ball.

He needs to go. Treating women this way isn't something you "cure". It points straight to a fundamental weakness of character. If you feel so strongly that he needs a second chance, he can get it somewhere else, not here.
You might want to throw a “ in my opinion” or “I think” in there. It’s a bit narcissistic to tell everyone what should or will be done

The same if the lack of an emotional attachment didn’t cause people to only read the titles of articles.

Hoosker DU is right if Frost puts him back on the team he will be crucified and be labeled a win at all cost Head Coach just like TO was regardless of trying to help the young man out, other programs I won’t mention don’t see it this way...

The kid did something terrible before he arrived on campus. From the looks of it, the kid has some behavioral issues, possible problems with anger management. The easy thing would be to chuck him out of the program and do next man up in the RB room. That would do nothing to help address Mo's underlying problems.
If Frost's interests in Washington are only about his obvious talent as a FB player, then Frost has feet of clay. If he facilitates a process that leads to Mo addressing his personal issues and becoming a better person, then he's the coach fans thought they were getting last winter.

Maybe bye some. I wouldn’t crucify him nor think bad of him. Myself, in my opinion, I’d think “well there was more to this then we all knew”. And win at all coast??? Wow, we are going there??? One single RB makes a bad choice when he was in high school and it’s just now having light shined on it almost a year later, and some of you guys want him gone before his side comes out or anything has a chance to happen?? Talk about being judge-mental and quick to the draw.

I will say this, this will be a 50/50 split thing. Not everyone will crucify Frost if Washington stays. Some will back him and his choice. As it’s his choice to make (and maybe the ADs) and some will say Washington should have been kicked off the team. It will be talked about and brought up, but I promise you, it will blow over and it will go away. But for now, can we at least wait and see how this plays out and see what happens first BEFORE DECIDING TO KEEP OR KICK WASHINGTON??

I do see both sides of it. The punishment needs to fit the crime to an extent to. If he was any way shape or form involved that video, gone. If he physically abused a women, child, dog, cat, gone. He was embarrassed and hurt that is ex shut him down. He was pissed and wanted to hurt her. For whatever reason he still had the video ( which apparently many kids at the time had). Why he kept it who knows, maybe after 3 years he forgot he had and only remember once she contacted him.
I think what many are getting hung up on is the Child porn thing. Looking at it in context, it is a technicality. The dude is not a pedophile he is not a danger to children. He was a guy who was embarrassed and hurt and want to make her feel equally embarrassed and hurt. He is guilty of making a horrible decision. Doesn't mean he is instantly a bad kid.
That being said, if stuff like this becomes a pattern absolutely get him out of here.

So be it. No matter what happens there are going to be people upset.

If Mo has done everything they have asked of him and has been a good teammate since joining the team then keep him. If they have had issues with him and this is just icing on the cake then release him and he will be picked up by some other D-1 program and they can deal with the backlash.

Two: we DID bring Frost here to win, to get us back over that hump and competing for titles again. I promise you guys this, we will NEVER get to that point if we kick every player that makes a mistake. We can not have “we are perfect little saints” thing and compete with the best of the best. Those guys are looking the other way, helping players get past mistakes and giving them chances. I’ll back Frost on what ever he decides and I’ll also back Washington (if Frost keeps him). I have 4 sons that are teens and I know they make mistakes. And I also remember none of us are the same people we were when we was 16-18 years old. At that age we make dump mistakes and we learn and become better people. Washington WILL do the same, just as long as everyone doesn’t give up on him for every mistake he makes.

There will be California court finding, or a University of Nebraska decision before Spring Ball, 100% guarantee it.
Frost won't allow this spectacle to influence the 2019 season.

Just curious if you read the article in the OWH this morning with details from the law enforcement affidavit? It looks worse than I anticipated, IMHO. I'm still fairly ambivalent about whether he stays or goes, but I'm not finding much ability to dredge up any sympathy for him either.

Innocent until proven guilty right? We don’t know how this ends. IMO it’d be wrong to remove Mo from the team or out of school altogether when he hasn’t had his day in court.

At most he should be suspended while the case develops. Final decisions should me made at a later date.

This is is first offense in anything I believe. If so, I have a feeling as well it will get figured out pretty quickly and everyone can move on. Next year at this time when Mo has 1500 rushing, and we have a BIG10 title. Everyone will forget all about this ;):)

Agree, those who only see the head line. Nebraska RB charged with Child Porn. Yes they will label him as that. Anyone who has half a brain and looks deeper into the story will see the Child Porn thing is a technicality. He is no threat of hurting little kids, which is the first thing people think of.

A rapist would have to be a complete moron to tape it and then distribute it amongst their school. Lots of duaghters would have a hard time admitting to daddy that they got tagged teamed if it was consensual no matter their age, but especially if she was 15. You’re right that the video doesn’t provide enough to dicipher that it was consensual, but it also doesn’t show it wasn’t. The Shoplifting level probation given to the two men in the video and the girl being expelled infers to me that maybe the girl isn’t as innocent as you may think. We have all the info, but regardless we’d have different opinions on a warranted punishment.
To be a rapist you would be a complete moron to begin with. A teacher in Bellevue is out on $275,000.00 bail for possession of child porn, not only did Washington have possession but he distributed it. This is much more serious than many of you want to admit, not to mention totally disgusting and an affront to woman around the world.

No, it doesn’t change what I think is a justifiable punishment. I didn’t expect a maliciously jealous exchange between teenagers to be pg-13.

I would not take what appeared in the affidavit all that seriously. Police tend to, shall we say, shade things, including what they know and what they suspect, a great deal in affidavits. They also don't have to include anything that would suggest innocence. In that regard the affidavit is much like a presentation to a grand jury. Before the straw man arguments come out, I am not saying that's what happened in this case. I don't know. But based on common practice in law enforcement the affidavit, in isolation, is not a particularly good document to use to get a reading on the facts.
