Not a fan, personally. Tried it at the distillery, actually. My taste might be jaded by their history as pretty low end stuff for quite awhile before they recently got back to making better bourbon, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

I don't mind regular four roses as an everyday bourbon. A friend of mine bought the single barrel for me but I've never tried it yet. We haven't had a chance to get together to try it. He claims it's good.

I like it

I like it. Does have a little kick being 100 proof. FR Small Batch or Buffalo Trace would be a better bang for the buck IMO.
Agreed. Both of the buffalo trace and FR small batch are giog. I think I like the small batch just a little more

Probably out of my price range, lol

As bourbon goes, Buffalo Trace isn't that bad price wise. I just bought a bottle of their Bourbon Cream when I saw it at HyVee. I always keep an eye out for it, tends to be hit or miss around here but it's amazing with root beer, hot cocoa, ice cream, etc.. Can pretty much use it like you would use Irish cream.

Speaking of root beer, love it with butterscotch schnapps and heavy whipping cream. Thinking about substituting ice cream next summer. We call them slippery nipples. If I use ice cream I need to come up with a new name. Nippy nipple?? I will have to think about it. Suggestions?

Four roses single barrel is one of my favorites. Great bourbon for the price point. I’m not a big fan of their cheaper offering however

Agree. Although, I thought the small batch was OK (its been a while since I’ve had either).

I like it. Has a bit of a kick, but very smooth. I’m pouring a Knob Creek Single Barrel now that is unbelievably smooth for a 120 proof.

Have you guys tried the Knob Creek Smoked Maple yet? I opened that bottle and my whole kitchen smelled like maple syrup. Tasted like autumn in a glass. Couldn’t drink it every day but it’s damn good.

Just buy Blanton? Come on man you can not even buy it at the distillery. Tell me where I can go pick Blanton off the shelf and I’ll buy us each one.

Your description makes me feel like a newbie and I probably really am!! I will often have Evan Williams or Canadian Club on ice. Below their price points, I don't even bother.

Hoping for a good opinion....

PS... @Pennsyhusker I love your opinions man... if you want to reach out id be grateful!

Proof in Omaha just got their own barrel of Blantons a few weeks ago. They had 270 bottles for sale. Jacks in Fremont has also had on their shelf.

Canadian club is a blended whiskey and not Bourbon. I won't touch a blend.

Evan Williams is a Jack Daniels wanna be. I am not a big fan of the sour mash types. TheyrTh good with coke.

I prefer anything that is smooth on a couple rocks and sometimes with a splash of water if I'm not hydrated

Hey, totally understand. Do your self a favor and get yourself a holiday present. Save your money and don't buy any booze for a couple weeks. Then get your self a jug for the holidays.

You may or may not thank me later because you'll be hooked.
