They're called fair weather bandwagon garbage which is a poison to any fan base and those types are the furthest from being close to anything resembling what a true fan is as they change their loyalties and allegiances as frequently as they do their underwear. Just sayin! LOL

What would happen if people actually celebrated success and just put aside all the fear, naysaying, and negativity? Look at the football program. The team comes out of the chute 0-6 and you hardly heard people whining. It was full of support finding the little things that showed progress. Then look at the basketball team who has won 4 out of 5 games by 20+ points and 1 win over a team previously ranked on their home court. Yes, they suffered a loss but it was on a neutral court to a team now ranked in the top 25.
The team wins and the reaction is "well, they got lucky... waiting for them to fall on their faces again" - they lose and it's straight up anger. If it's that hard to be a fan of this team, stop watching them. Sounds like watching them win or lose causes a lot of stress and heartache for many on this board.

It's the difference between Year 1 and Year 7. If Frost has a .500 career record after 6 years and gets blown out in Year 7, there will be quite a bit of negativity.
Bandwagons are usually reserved for successful teams, no one jumps on the losing team bandwagon. Fair weather, I guess, but the reality is that unless you have sustained success, you will always have fans that only show up during the good times.
Look back at the attendance during the Collier and Doc years. The Devaney wasn't but half full and no one cared. Now after a new building is up and 1 trip to the NCAAs in 6 years, you expect people to just believe good things are right around the corner? No thanks.
So go on preaching about your true fandom. But unless you were one of the 8500 that "filled" the Devaney from 2000-2013, you are no different.

I'm still here. Great win, but still feel like Miles isn't utilizing our talent the way he should. We still have awful dry spells, and still skeptical. I'm more than happy to be proved wrong because I love NU sports, but still in prove it mode with Miles.

I think this team has a ton of potential, but I do still have some concerns about the year. 1. The Big Ten is so much better this year and it will be tough to finish in the Top 4 (but it is very possible) 2. Our lack of depth will bite us at some point this year. 3. No true big to be able to contain the many big men in the conference. 4. Our offense to often gets stagnant. There is little to no off the ball movement during these times which still leads to scoring droughts. I believe this team could be special but there is still reason to have some concerns about the season if you ask me. I'm not calling for Miles head by any means, I think he's done an alright job, but I'm not so sure Moos agrees with that statement just yet.....
I'm not a hater, but I'm telling you right now. If he does not beat Creighton this year, I don't see it ever happening. We are a better team in all facets of the game this year, and it is at home.
He loses to them this year, it would take a run in the tournament to make me feel okay about keeping him around. You can't continue to be Creighton's b****, and think you can keep your job here. Beat Creighton and that monkey will forever be off of his back.
I've been to ALOT of games from the 80's till now through the good years and bad never wavering. A true fan is one that that sticks by their team win or lose, good years and awful years. You just called yourself out as being one of the garbage fairweather fans and I'm calling you that, as I am a true fan and am willing to watch and see what happens and hoping for the best as this is gonna be a very fun year, instead of calling for a coaches head after one loss. it may have been a 20 point loss, but one to an elite 8 team last year that still had plenty of talent left in the cupboard even after they had as many guys drafted last year as the better talent you have to practice against, the better team you are gonna be. That loss was good for us and a learning tool. I think this team will be the 1st Husker team to win a tourney game, while guys like you would call for his head even if we win a tourney game. To be truthful, I was one that wanted Nee gone due to the toxic environment he created in the program, he was the one that drove AW from the program and other things he did. Moe Iba however was a very good guy.

Creighton is a really good basketball program. Nebraska is not a really good basketball program. One of the worst major conference programs ever, right? We might beat Creighton this year but honestly it doesn't mean a damn thing long term. That's why I'm fine with just enjoying this year and worrying about next year later.

Not gonna happen and we really have no place thinking anything of the sort. Andre Woolridge dipshit! He tranfered to Iowa because of Nee and became the Big 10's all time leading scorer by the time he left. I don't know if it still stands now though! Show's how much you know dumbass! Woolridge was part of the class that included Erick Strickland and Jaron Boone. Woolridge was ranked number 3 in the nation coming out of Benson.

I’m not sure whether I’m considered a Miles hater. I’m certainly disappointed with the results he’s produced to this point. Given what Nebraska invested in basketball, I’m sure expectations were higher than what has been delivered to date.

Well, how about we take the very first sentence in your initial post. Clemson was ranked 24th in the Coaches Poll last night when we beat them, and was 16th just last week. You do realize they were a Sweet 16 team last year, and as near as I can tell, has everyone back.
Edit - They lost Devoe from last year, but I believe they have the other 4 starters from last year back. We beat a pretty decent team on the road last night.

I'm not sure what to make of those ratings. By and large, everything Wyldcard is spouting in this thread is off, but Woolridge was widely considered by most to be the 2nd best point guard in the nation that year behind Jason Kidd, coming out of high school. This is an excerpt from an OWH article from a few years ago:
Woolridge came home ranked as the No. 2 point guard in the country. He could've played with Kidd at Cal. He could've played for Rick Pitino at Kentucky. He chose Nebraska, where he, Erick Strickland and Jaron Boone comprised one of the best recruiting classes in the nation.
Who was ranking him that high, I'm not sure, but he was definitely considered as a top 3 or 4 nationally PG.

I’m a Miles hater and still wondering why I should believe in a 7 year coach with a .426 conference winning record, 1 NCAA appearance, and zero tournament wins. Maybe that’s just me. But apparently it takes him two full recruiting cycles to put out a good product. I’m hoping this is the year Huskers do something great and he jumps ship for a “better job”, and he’s another schools problem and Huskers don’t have to pay him out.
