I lay it at the door of the man who hired her. He missed BADLY on this one.

If things don’t improve under her, then a change has to be made with Cohen. You can’t screw up this many searches and keep your job. When we do change, it’s time to bring him some new blood and do a national search.

On paper she should be a good coach, resume is solid. Short of pulling an established elite coach, what else can Cohen do but go after a winning head coach that played under Staley?

This is just an effect of women’s college basketball in general. There aren’t any elite programs, just a handful of elite coaches. Look at TN nowadays. We got extremely fortunate that Schaefer turned out to be elite, but he was always going back to TX someday. Odds of immediately plugging in another elite coach were never great.

She played under Summit. And TN didn't give her a sniff in their hires since Summit. I told y'all last week girls are going to transfer out end of season. Lots of issues. This staff needs to get a hold of things.

Well at least we don’t have to worry about her bolting for Tennessee in a couple of years, which was voiced as a legitimate concern when we hired her.

if you take a look at these elite coaches they all tend to exhibit the same characteristics. Tough, demanding, fundamentals fanatics, do not tolerate lack of effort. I never saw NMP coach at OD but I don’t see many of these things in her team. A team that has already played for such a coach last year.

Based on body language, I believe Rickea and Carter are done.

Cohen is paid to know who the right coach is. This is twice he’s hired a coach to take over a successful program with talent and picked a coach that runs things completely opposite of the previous successful coach. There was no need to deviate from a power run spread team when Mullen left, but Cohen did. And there was no need to deviate from what Vic did but again Cohen did.

No. This staff needs to keep shitting the bed so it’ll make it easier to fire her after one year. I didn’t watch the game, but if the talent we have on the court can’t score but 3 points in one quarter, it’s not due to players, but the coach. Something bad is happening. Cohen needs to go tell NMP that she better not tweet a damn thing and the girls better not tictoc one more dance until they can get their **** together. Any second wasted on social media is a second better spent in the gym shooting or conditioning.
Flame away.

It's hard to keep up w/ every AD's background but the only ADs in SEC that come to mind that coached at their schools are Fulmer, Tanner and Cohen at Tennessee, South Carolina and MSU. Coaching hires have been a bit of an adventure for all 3.

Did Joe Moorhead escape blame because Cohen made a bad hire? No, and he shouldn’t have. The decline in this team is mind boggling and that is on her as much as Cohen.

Did you notice that she sat her lazy *** in the chair 90% of the game today. Unless I'm unaware of a physical ailment that would have led to that, that is unbelievable when your team is showing no life, no effort, no sense of urgency, or no emotion. Vic would have been stomping, throwing his coat and sitting butts on the bench. I take that back, if Vic were here they wouldn't have played like this because they knew they wouldn't be able to get away with it. She is totally in over her head with this.

Do you honestly feel qualified to call a woman who won championships at every stage of her career, was 2 time SEC player of the year, MVP of a professional league and has 2 Olympic gold medals a "lazy ***"?

I'm gonna say you've got the right, but probably aren't qualified.

The credentials are unbelievable as a player. Now does she have the same as a coach?

She played for Summit, but wasn't she an assistant coach to Staley before going to Old Dominion as HC?

joe was held accountable for his team and so must NMP. But the architect of the **** show is our AD for hiring someone who was not ready.

I think there's a lot more reason for hope for football than for womens basketball right now. And I'm not all that hopeful about football.

It looks that way, but I think football will be a lot better this fall. The future of WBK doesn't look all that bright at the moment. They seem to keep regressing over the course of the season.

I'll never say anything again about Fanning underachieving with a number one and number two draft pick on the same team

If I recall that team got hosed in terms of NCAA tourney draws. Had to play a lower seed New Mexico in Albuquerque if I’m not mistaken, similar to Vic having to play a lower seed Oregon in Portland a couple of years ago.

I agree her team is struggling right now (just like Texas) and if that continues long term, it's a big problem.

That and her coaching from a chair doesn't make her a lazy ***, which was the point of my post. Plenty of good coaches don't coach as passionately as Vic during games.

Big difference in taking over for a coach who just got fired and taking over for a coach that left for another job and left the program stocked with All-American recruits.

Yep. Hard to imagine our team ever having more talent than it does now. If she can’t win with this team, what does she need to win?

Again, my post concerned her being characterized as a lazy *** because her sideline demeanor doesn't match that of our previous coach. The jury is way out on her ultimate quality as a high level D1 coach.

Btw, Vic's post at Texas was the #1 rated HS player in the country by some services as a senior and just about everybody else was Top 50 or 100, so the cupboard there wasn't particularly bare.

NMP is in the same position Leach was in...few bad apples ruining the program and will require a purge to get her players in here that want to work...heard it started last year and really came oh this year...I still believe in her and things will get better

Will you still be spewing this crap when the bad apples transfer to Texas and become all Americans?

Basketball coach didn’t take over from a program that had no discipline and a coach that couldn’t control the players. Leach did. I don’t buy that excuse with the ladies team.

Vic did bench Rickea last year for showing up late to practice late, and he almost benched several in his starting lineup that didn't show up to shoot around on time. He said Myah talked him out of it. Vic obviously ran a disciplined program, but he apparently had some that wanted to push buttons.

Yes I honestly don’t care where they transfer or what they become. All I care about is looking competitive on the floor field wherever

Like I said i still believe in NMP but I know for a fact there was some issues with a certain 5 star and her mom starting with Vic last year but now it’s in full effect.

I'll bet Vic has Texas in fine form in a year or two. Not so sure our coach will. But we'll see.
