Just want to wish everyone a happy September. The month when fans can finally have an alcoholic beverage in Commonwealth Stadium, something that has never been accomplished by any attendee. Also the month where Kentuckians who wish to place a wager on a sporting event will get their turn, previously never having the opportunity.

Tip o’ the hat to State-sanctioned fun!

Mertz is the definition of a "game manager" and Napier had him dropping back 50 times last night (while Etienne only got 7 carries). Little chance that was gonna work.

They should try Mertz in the option.

* I guess I'm going to have to sign up for YouTubeTV to watch the game at an AirBNB because Disney and Spectrum are in a dick swinging contest. God I hate streaming horseshit.

Can I just pay UK a grand every year to watch all the basketball and football games on the same damn channel with local announcers? What a pain in the ***.

* I think Chester is exactly right. Blue Moon of Kentucky, ladies and gents!

Bigger fall from grace: IU basketball or Nebraska football?

Difference is Nebraska has a geographical excuse. Indiana is in prime basketball territory and still sucks. Hell, a number of schools have made major runs on the back of Indiana talent during their dry spell including Michigan State, Notre Dame, Butler, Ohio State and Purdue. It’s pathetic and I love it.

I’m not racist but still surprises me every time a white dude is sitting back there fielding a punt.

Really - this guy is the best you got for this job?

Nebraska had about a 30 year run where they were a top5 team year in and year out. The fact they can’t even get bowl eligible anymore, when every damn team qualifies for a bowl game, in the Big10 west no less, is by far the bigger fall from grace.

Nebraskas downfall was the move to the B10. They are irrelevant on that scale as that conference will always be OSU, Michigan and Penn St country.

Regardless if one of the others pop up for a few years that conference only moves the needle when those 3 are on top.

Nebraska doesn’t belong there, period.

Iirc, Kentucky won a national title with a point guard from Indianapolis. I think they even beat Indiana in the sweet 16 in said year.

Some people forget that.

- Nice little 4.5 day weekend. Will be playing golf at least 3 days.

- Ready for some football tomorrow at HIGH NOON!!

- Last hurrah for my Red Sox and Reds. Have no hope for the Sox, but Votto needs to summon his inner Roy Hobbs and lead this team to the playoffs.

- So at the US Open and other tennis tournaments, you do not see the Russian name or flag next to the Russian player on the score. How pathetic and petty. Penalize a Russian tennis player for his/her governments crap? That's sure going to show Putin.

- Any DIRECTV folks springing for Sunday ticket on Youtube? DIRECTV giving $400 bucks to help?

- Got 75 already in my NFL pick-em league. Gonna have over 100 like last 2 years.

- This moon has been bad ace last couple of nights.

- Not going political, but Mitch has to hang it up doesn't he?

- Proud dad moment. Daughter scored first high school goal on a corner kick header.

- Hope you Florida folks are doing ok after Idalia.

Mounted the 50" on covered deck this week. Finishing up installing the SimpliSafe system by gametime. Going to be a nice 74 degrees here in Carolina at kickoff, perfect for a few Modelo Ore's while watching the start of the March to ATL.

First time missing DMB at the Gorge in almost a decade. New priorities and whatnot.

-Few things worse than landing on someone else’s piece with a house or motel on it, and then hitting that tipping point where you just have to sit there and take it while losing in monopoly. One of those “I hate losing more than I enjoy winning” moments

-Few things better than shooting the moon or bidding blind nil and killing it, conversely

-Not sure how as an American you can’t look at NYC and feel pride. What a magnificent city and beacon of America

-Will be my first time driving in NYC, should be something. Selected “I’m feeling lucky” with the rental car for ***** and giggles so interested to see what POS I’ll be in

-Pretzels as the airplane snack 🙄 I mean good lord at least try. No biscotti’s?

~Those that are hamstrung on the Spectrum/Disney-ESPN issue are more pissed than anyone. Some apt's, senior centers, areas w/ poor wifi, etc. Everyone doesn't have the YT-TV option. First world problems magnified when it is a major sports season starting up.

~Brick and mortar coffee shops in central Ky are going up faster than nail salons and used car lots. We must be one helluva coffee drinking group to think they can pay the bills w/ just java.

~Mayor Adams complaining about the illegals taking over his city...well, you asked for this.

~If anyone sees me at the game tomorrow, say hello....I won't bite, and I am happy to invade your tailgate.

~Next 4 days of weather is pristine.

~BLT w/ avacado on toasted sourdough

~Summer bourbon season reaching a close...fall ushering in new selections.

My answer to the dwindling population and people not out there making babies is to flood the world with vintage Keith Sweat songs. A staple of any hook-up mix on a burned CD.

In addition to not looking great- Florida also just looked really dumb. And not being good at football and also being dumb is a bad mix. Hopefully they eat all the **** this year as retaliation for that awful documentary.

UL is going to beat a bad GaTech team tonight and then we will have all of the "BRING HOME GEOFF" slurpers coming out of the woodwork- and they will benefit from a **** schedule to inflate the egos of a lot of water head losers but when push comes to shove at the end of the year they still get exposed.

TheTommie Frazier era was fun to watch- but the implosion of the whole program over the last decade has been more exciting

Was at Fenway last week for the Mookie Betts return. As a neutral it was still pretty cool to watch the ovation he got. Fenway is a must for any baseball fan, and its also not a great place to watch a game. Both are true. Cool experience overall. Was shocked how many dodger fans were there. A few next to us said they had just moved to Mass from LA with their entire extended family of 45 PEOPLE. In-laws, cousins, kids- everyone moved. Wild story to hear.

I actually love Boston and have always had a good time going up there. a few days of 65 degrees on the Cape was nice as well.

On campus next week we have Gameday and that Barstool Kickoff show so I would imagine that from Wednesday on through the weekend it will be chaos as the Texas fans begin to show up.

Looking forward to a bunch of Affliction clad dildos trying to start a fight after the law firm of Key, Brown and Robinson lights up their overhyped secondary.

We should def start 5-0 after watching FL last night. Anything less would be a huge disappointment in my opinion.

Want to see us dominate the line of scrimmage these first 4 wks. If we can’t protect during this part of the schedule, could be a long year.

-life hack: substitute spinach for lettuce in BL(S)T. Delicious and spinach has actual nutritional value.

-new HOT water heater being installed today, old one lasted 20 years. Started to leak a tiny amount...caught it before disaster. Small victories.

~ We had a severe thunderstorm on Sunday with wind bursts so bad I could only compare it to surviving Hurricane Andrew in a Stucco apartment in '92. Neighbors tree fell, knocked down one of mine and spiked the new neighbors fence. Good way to meet a neighbor, I suppose.

~ Been working on my Espresso Martini recipe. Upped the game with a Demerara Syrup but need to get my hands on some Mr. Black coffee liqueur and a decent Vanilla liqueur.

~ This upcoming fall will be the first with our new screened porch. I can already tell how awesome it will be with these cooler afternoons. Four Roses SB about to hit a lot different.

~ Wife started taking Vitamin D after a blood check determined lower levels. What a game changer that has been. Feel like WynnDuffy over here. Good energy, enhanced libido ; the works really.

~ I've completely given up on my Bermudagrass this year. **** will grow everywhere but where I need it. Fighting all kinds of fescue spots, moss growth at the corners of the driveway due to water runoff, etc. Have no idea what I'm doing with this stuff as I've never had it. Might be time to bring in an expert.

Chill Friday 5:

Badbadnotgood - Time Moves Slow
Hiatus Kaiyote - Red Room
Crumb - Locket
Flying Lotus - Crust
Thundercat (Feat. Tame Impala) - No More Lies

Kentucky flag flying, it's time for Football gang!

I bite my lip in many project meetings, but Jesus, it’s so cringy listening to folks butcher terms.

-noted. it's colloquial Michael. Quit being an architect.

^it's like accents...some people butcher the kings English on the reg, I choose to view it as regional charm.
