Lol. Respect meter just went up a lot.

I know your kid is involved with kicking dudes out west. Do they send kids to the Kohls(think that is right) national kicking camp? Some friends kid has rocketed up the charts for rising seniors after going to that camp.

Jason Witten's kid kicks?
Not that I’m aware of. Not sure of their positions. One will be a sophomore and one a freshman. The freshman has a chance to be good imo.

Kids name is Michael Petro. Most of the big schools are recruiting him.

Since you asked.

We go to the Sailer camps. He’s by far the biggest on the West Coast. Kohl’s has a small presence here but nothing like Sailer.

We do have a private coach who is well connected and we train at Stanford. I think that’s the best route for direct exposure. The camps are fun and it’s nice to see where you stand but this whole process is relationship based. Find the schools you want to go to and then go to their specialist camps and send film.

We’ll see what happens. Going to be a fun next 2 years. He’s one of the top kickoff kids in his class and his FGs are improving at a fast rate. He just made the full transition to kicking off the ground from a tee, which is a major differentiator with kids this age.

Nice. Sounds similar to the kid I know. Just sub DFW for the Bay Area.

Tried to get my nephew to go that route but he wants to be a QB/WR/DB.

I think we would probably have to shut the thread down if a GYERO kid ruined another GYERO poster’s relationship with their father. That’s some ouroboros stuff, there.

Never heard of this dude until today. Legit the best “new” bars I’ve heard in as long as I can remember.

Yeah...that really compares to the others.
My post wasn't to criticize yours; just to make a joke about Nicholasville/Jessamine County actually having a PGA event here. That said, I might've put the Rocket Mortgage event in Detroit on the list over the ones in NC that are 2-3 hours longer to drive.

Oh lordy

I’d rather listen to Luke Combs or Morgan Whalen. You wonder how that country crap became so darn cool…

My buddy took me all over Jessamine land doing some landscaping, and holy cow I’d never seen such beautiful ****. You’re about stupid if you have that sort of money and don’t live outside of Lexington.

I’m with you MattCats on the debating. Just trying to figure out which one’s gonna ruin my bets. 80-effing1, you couldn’t have bet that horse with borrowed money.

GSW just boat racing the Mavs.

-Stay hydrated and stay regular, Bernie.

-Thought I was done with baseball but the allure of UNLIMITED SUMMER GAMBOL has me checking pitching matchups between the Phillies and Padres FFS. Nice lil 5 teamer yesterday...

-Watched the 2nd half of the Florida game last night and am now officially on the clock with waiting for football. Usually make it to June 1, but the "hell, SEC Media Days is only ____ away" came a little early this year.

-Shew bubbers Stoops was redhot after a garbage PI call on Valentine following a missed hold on Wandale the series before. Love that bastard.

-The first bloom on a bracken brown magnolia I planted 18 months ago arrived. That was satisfying. Tree is going to be an absolute joy to nurture and grow.

-Speaking of simple joys and the bottomless pursuit of satisfaction, Arthur Brooks' piece in the March Atlantic is excellent. I just found the magazine under an ever-present pile of **** in my kitchen that you may also have.

How to Want Less

-No taste or smell and still testing positive here on day 12. Fabulous.

-Mosquito defense for the yard is a worthy investment. Really makes the space far more enjoyable.

-I don't fux with bats but does anyone keep a bat hotel or whatever on their house? I love the idea of mitigating pesky insects the way God intended but I also love dousing my yard with unknown chemicals from some mysterious manufacturing plant because it works and I don't have to harbor bats.

-When my daughter is born in October my first born daughter will be halfway outta here to college. They'll only have 9 years together under the same roof. I really hate startling realizations about the brevity of it all like that.

-That Billy Napier honeymoon down in Gainesville is going to be awfully short after Big Blue rolls into town September 10th. Bitches.

-And another thing, Florida and Tennessee sure enjoy wearing their little orange britches in Lexington. Funny how a trip to Kroger Field has become a marquee game on their calendar, whether they admit it or not (they won't).

- Rupp Arena just announced "The Judds: The Final Tour" coming this October, and the Facebook comments are getting HEATED.

- If there's anything positive about these blowout NBA playoff games the last few nights, it's that I can usually sneak in an episode of "Ozark" and still catch EJ/Shaq/Chuck/Kenny afterwards.

- We're in a pretty sweet spot with our daughters right now, travel-wise. They're young enough not to be terribly jaded by much, but they're old enough to realize that there are places besides the beach/Disney/Smokys that are worth visiting. Highly recommend, when your kids reach middle school or so, taking them somewhere completely different for longer trips, while still hitting up a beach on Spring/Fall Break. Our trips out west have been fantastic, not only for family time, but also for them just experiencing something completely different.

- No article, inspirational video, etc. can humble/motivate you quite like seeing your parents battling the aging process. Really puts things in perspective, and forces you to recalibrate your appreciation of (and approach to) certain things.

- Cal still hasn't hired an assistant coach to replace Jai?

There's your built in babysitter so you and ma can enjoy your life again. Older kids raise the younger ones. It's the circle of life.
Could be worse though, buddy came home from college and announces "mom's having another one". Graduated, went to work in Chicago and never had a relationship with the younger ones.

I've got a half brother 20 years younger than me. Same age difference as me and my dad. Weird dynamic but I'm not sure how much of that has to do with the age difference or the fact that he spends the majority of his time locked away in his room playing video games.

- No offense to SAECATFAN or BRax but have always found middle age earring guy a bit of an odd duck.

- In case you forgot, we beat the two teams who played for the national championship by a combined 47 points (away from home). smh

- My dad turns 70 this summer and father-in-law turns 80. Makes me kinda sad.

- You know if I’m being honest, Elton John may just be a Top 10 recording artist for me. At least Top 20.

- So PTI in Italy huh? Rome have an ultra tough mudder this weekend or something?

- My wife just can’t resist dropping a c-note on my daughter at any kids clothing store. Nothing brings her more joy than dressing her up.

-I love bats. Those little suckers are awesome. A mess when they get in the house but otherwise great companions.

-What's the best hacker golf ball these days? Still NXT? Apparently headed to play a round next week and haven't picked up a club in 18 months.

-Yesterday a lady was eating soup next to me while I was getting my haircut. I mean, that's one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen. JFC, lady.

-Can't wait for the boys to be old enough to head out west. Been planning that trip in my head for a year now.

-Speaking of, I was fishing the Yellowstone this time last year. Man...

-Glad we made the Elton concert. Dude moved slow but still had that voice. Just hit after hit for 2 hours.

-Our pile of **** has a progression. Kitchen, mud room, basement.

Re: contentment/happiness

-at this point in my life I generally don't argue/fight about much.

:Wife and I are "generally" copacetic on financial planning and kid stuff. Unless I have *strong* feelings or she's advocating something goofy(rarely if ever)...I go with the flow.

:Work is challenging. I find telling the truth works best. My industry is chock full of people who still believe that can get nigh impossible **** done by the "force of their will" via yelling/threats...which is a laughable concept. One can accomplish the difficult stuff with *hard* work, flexibility, planning...and most importantly teamwork and honest dialog. Supply and labor situations have made this obvious to the meatheads...but it's been the case forever.

^**** gets done due to the team buying in...being an ******* doesn't help.

Also...we plan/build buildings...we're not trauma surgeons. Some people get **** twisted.

-back to original point...I've found identifying a *few* things I like doing and not spreading myself too thin is the key to contentment...if not happiness.
