Wheeler, Frederick, Wallace, Toppin, Livingston. All very very good defenders. Defense won’t be the issue this year. Would like to see one more shooter added then we are set!Can he play defense? We need some defenders on the perimeter.

We have Wheeler and Wallace…both play good defense from the guard position…I’m completely fine with having a scoring punch like Reeves even if his defense is lacking. He has had several commitments from HS and portal guys over the last 3-4 years who can't play defense. It doesn't seem like defense has been a priority with this staff.
glad to have the kid.......... but just to put it into perspective, we are replacing an NBA kid with a not NBA kid... so in the scheme of things my mind wont let me get excited for him too much ... wish we could get Sharpe back and then this kid would get me thrilled as icing on the cake
A rim protector would be a great addition but I don't see him wanting to share time with Oscar and do we want 2 big guys clogging the lane on offense? Now go and get Broome!
Unless we play him more exclusively at the three, then he is splitting minutes with Livingston more than anyone. I think we still have a chance in terms of PT.I can't fathom a scenario where the Baylor kid looks at a roster that has: Reeves, CJ, Wallace, Livingston, all 4 playing his position(s) and comes to Lexington. I would wager this turn of events with Reeves hinged on something between UK and Baylor over the last 24 hours. I could be wrong but I would assume he would move to a less crowded roster. Having said that I think Baylor is light years better than CJ so him coming would only further screw CJ but its all the same amount drama however you slice it.
Cal wont start a transfer over a 5* freshman, or Brooks. No way no how.I don't think Reeves is a starter. He may see minutes at the 2 and 3. Baylor would definitely start at the 3.
Grady started we did have Collins on the bench. Brooks might not even be back next seasonCal wont start a transfer over a 5* freshman, or Brooks. No way no how.
What are you hearing???UK wasn't getting Scheierman.
Voices in his head. What are you hearing???
I don't know that it's likely but I'd love to get Baylor, get Toppin back, and call it done unless we're adding guys to be end of bench, develop for future years.Absolutely. Baylor would arguably be the best player out of all of those guys but its still a butterfly effect on the minutes and its still roster competition. I'm betting due to his recent comments on Kansas and the fact that once Baylor hit the portal the "Reeves to UK may not be a done deal" stories all started to conveniently pop up and now 24 hours after Baylor hits the portal and after UK has had time to speak with Baylor all of those reports on Reeves are out the window and he's suddenly committed.
Sharpe was ruled eligible for the draft by the NBA... that was the hold upwhat a soap opera.........what changed from yesterday to today
yesterday Oregon was the favorite & UK was sliding
guess that means Baylor is out of the equation
I hope so on Wallace but are we talking about the same Wheeler? He ball watches causing him to get beat backdoor a lot. He is too small to switch on any high pick and rolls and is very inconsistent in fighting through screens. He gets steals but also gambles a lot to get them which if it isn't a turnover it can be an easy basket. We have Wheeler and Wallace…both play good defense from the guard position…I’m completely fine with having a scoring punch like Reeves even if his defense is lacking.

Kind of a cross between Monk and Ty. Looks good. His release is insanely quick, and seems to be ok shooting while not having a great look. Should fit right in! Welcome big guy!
We're not talking about what I thought. We're talking about what Reeves thought and by extension--what the coaches were telling him.Sharpe was already in the draft. That wasn't a secret. Did you somehow think he wasn't going to be in the draft?

Thanks for the info….but I would say this (I DO NOT WANT TO TALK POLITICS) a great white player at Kentucky is going to have a plethora of advertising opportunities due to the state racial demographics.“I went to Duke's 247 board. The reason Duke is moving on would actually be a reason UK might not be able to work as well. His agent is the same guy as Nigel Pack, who just signed with Miami with a very specific kind of NIL deal that UK is not doing and Barnhart is not yet allowing (using a "collective" of rich guys basically endorsing and giving money like a contract). Duke, according to Rowe, is more giving guys a platform as a Duke player to go get paid by securing advertising opportunities. UK is doing similar.”
exactly I will take either one if they can get, prefer the one from SDSU but the guy from Chattanooga is a really good bucket getter as wellAgreed…I want one more guard.

Sorry to have offended you Mr Know-it-allSoap opera, lol, not at all. And no, doesn't mean BS is outta the question. Keep making **** up though, at least 2 lies in your post
Oh if Cal is talking there will be plenty of BS. LOL!I read elsewhere that Reeves wasn’t happy with the interest UK had in the Baylor kid . So….either the staff backed off BS or they convinced Reeves there was a plan for both he and BS .
BTW what’s the word on Davis?
Much rather you not post.Much rather have the Scheierman kid.
no one even knows how much CJ will be able to play or how rusty he will be after sitting out a yearI can't fathom a scenario where the Baylor kid looks at a roster that has: Reeves, CJ, Wallace, Livingston, all 4 playing his position(s) and comes to Lexington. There's just no comparison to the kinds of fanatics the state of Kentucky has vs. Oregon or any other state for that matter. NIL deals are probably leagues ahead in value from private KY companies than any company not named Nike in Oregon simply because our fans are nuts about UK basketball.UK must have met his NIL asking price.
He may get the green light to take a 3 or two per game but I don't see Cal pulling him out to the perimeter the majority of time. Pulling the nations leading rebounder away from the basket to roam the 3 point line would be insane but then again it is Calipari and he does some crazy stuff. Not if Oscar's been promised some looks on the perimeter...
You should have talked to Sharpe. You are very persuasiveIt’s funny when the news comes out that Sharpe is on the list of NBA draftees this morning all of a sudden this news comes out too. I’m glad the kid is coming to play for UK because we need some decent kids. Still not a very good trade for a top 10 draft pick for a top 30 portal player especially if we want to challenge for the title.
His agent is a diehard UK fan according to what he told Kyle Tucker. This was posted on a premium board. TIFWIW

or how his body will hold up. He's 23 years old and has played 2 seasons of basketball in the last 4 years.no one even knows how much CJ will be able to play or how rusty he will be after sitting out a year

So if that’s the case he’s all about money and wants to use a school. Nope. Don’t need that. Needs to be mutual. He’s looking for the biggest dollar sign only. This was posted on a premium board. TIFWIW

Reeves is a good player.he doesnt have to be the man either. If players come together then scoring should be spread out so that everybody contributes.....or at least I would hope.Excuse my ignorance. I don’t know much about this guy at all. But somebody please persuade me to be excited about an Illinois St transfer. I know he averaged 20ppg, but I doubt the competition was very stiff. I just have a hard time getting on board with players from Illinois St and Detroit Mercy being the talent level we need to get us back to where we want to be.
