His team was awful, but he scored in double figures every game except for one. Only big name school they played was at Wisconsin and he scored 25.

Does this mean he heard Sharpe is definitely gone?
It’s funny when the news comes out that Sharpe is on the list of NBA draftees this morning all of a sudden this news comes out too. I’m glad the kid is coming to play for UK because we need some decent kids. Still not a very good trade for a top 10 draft pick for a top 30 portal player especially if we want to challenge for the title.

Baylor is apparently pretty versatile so I think he would get PT regardless.
Absolutely. Baylor would arguably be the best player out of all of those guys but its still a butterfly effect on the minutes and its still roster competition. I'm betting due to his recent comments on Kansas and the fact that once Baylor hit the portal the "Reeves to UK may not be a done deal" stories all started to conveniently pop up and now 24 hours after Baylor hits the portal and after UK has had time to speak with Baylor all of those reports on Reeves are out the window and he's suddenly committed.

Nice. Seems to be a good offensive threat , not sure how his D looks but I’m sure it’s at least average.

glad to have the kid.......... but just to put it into perspective, we are replacing an NBA kid with a not NBA kid... so in the scheme of things my mind wont let me get excited for him too much ... wish we could get Sharpe back and then this kid would get me thrilled as icing on the cake

Uh who's the NBA kid he's "replacing"? A guy who never played?

Yeah this moved quickly. I would have to agree with the idea of Baylor not being an option. Seemed they went all in on Bayor yesterday and then maybe learned he's leaning to Kansas? I dunno. This kid is a solid rotational piece for Cal though.
That’s my read on it too.

Never know until it’s over and the roster is set.

I’ll take. A player who wants to play here over the other any day of the week.

I like the addition as bench scorers are always appreciated. Using just MPG here’s what we have leaving and replacing.

TyTy-Cason almost even match so I’ll assume MPG is consistent
Mintz and Grady combined for 58 MPG- Reeves, CJ, and Livingston presumably count towards that
Keion, Hopkins, and Allen combined for 36 MPG(not perfect due to some DNP’s for the latter two). The question becomes do Toppin and Collins increases in minutes make up that loss? I don’t think so.
So in short I expect one more quality add to the roster especially given the injury concern with Fredrick and to a lesser extent Wheeler. I do not expect a top tier transfer like Scheierman or guys of the like. Someone between 20-40 like Reeves or slightly lower and someone like Thiero.

Kansas almost has a full roster. I think they have only one spot available and that isif one of their guys keeps their name in the draft. Thats what I heard anyway so if they add anyone from portal it'll probably just be one or two tops.

Maybe we'll have luck with some other transfers as well

A voice of reason. It’s not necessarily “good news.” Would much rather have Sharpe. Would much rather have Scheierman. Don’t know how this dude will perform at this level.
That’s the same question mark for any transfer. Any crystal ball picks in the transfer is the same as asking the Ouija board who will perform better.

His release is insanely quick, and seems to be ok shooting while not having a great look. Should fit right in! Welcome big guy!

He looks pretty good at creating his own shot (lacking last year) and taking a defender off the bounce (also lacking last year). I hope those skills transfer against better competition.

what a soap opera.........what changed from yesterday to today
yesterday Oregon was the favorite & UK was sliding
guess that means Baylor is out of the equation
Sharpe was included on the early entrant list today.

its all the same amount drama however you slice it.
You root for a program that in the past few years: 1. Had its head coach dragged into a federal extortion case for banging a ***** and paying for her abortion 2. was the only school in history to have a national title stripped (along with much more) for paying strippers to cavort with underage recruits 3. Are still facing sanctions and probation after being caught by the FBI buying a player -- despite firing your coach and AD....and yet you want to comment on "drama" at Kentucky?

I'd suggest you fly back to the U6 Board, but your nonsense is so funny maybe you should stay as entertainment.

I agree that he fills a void with 3 point shooting but we all know if he can't play defense Cal may keep him buried on the bench.
If Cal was that worried about his defense then I highly doubt he would’ve committed here and Reeves would’ve went to Oregon.

Why is Reeves only rated at the 20th in terms of the ranking of those in the Portal? That doesn't sound good. And before I get a bunch of defensive responses how about only those with objective knowledge.

He has had several commitments from HS and portal guys over the last 3-4 years who can't play defense. It doesn't seem like defense has been a priority with this staff.
