Not sure on the defensive stats but NO WAY Mintz had better offensive stats. Mintz was an average shooter, 34%. CJ was an exceptional shooter 48%. Not sure how that disputes my assessment.
If you followed the whole season, you might remember that Mintz was really forcing things early in the season, presumably thinking he had to in order to earn PT. Yes, he shot 34% from 3 for the season, but once he settled down he shot much better - 39.8% in the SEC.
I'm sorry that I rushed my post in, but what I was talking about was these advanced stats, from sportsreference.com:
Offensive Rating (higher is better)
Reeves: 112.4
Mintz: 113.0
Defensive Rating (lower is better)
Reeves: 109.6
Mintz: 102.5
Note that the offensive ratings don't just consider shooting stats but include assists, offensive rebounds, and efficiency among other things. Reeves shoots a lot, and doesn't get many assists. Mintz had more APG despite playing 11 fewer MPG.
You also have to take a look at his team and schedule. They finished 13-20 in a weak conference with an SoS of 0.7.
