and--why make comments about removing RUPP from the arena, with ZERO background or review about Rupp? To blatantly attack the "rock" on which UK basketball is built without studying his history and not conversing with those who knew Rupp is total stupidity--or worse--mere reverse RACISM.

Then--to be cowards and kneel during the National Anthem--AWAY from one's home court demonstrates they knew the outcry from "back home" was certain to occur.

begok went along--a follower, NOT a leader!! NOT a teacher.

So someone is a coward because the did something that you didn't agree with? Someone is a coward for doing something a military veteran recommended initially to Colin Kaepernick to do as a peaceful protest? So someone is a coward for exercising their right as an American to a peaceful protest? You do realize that there is no law that requires you to stand for the National Anthem, right? You realize that at the end of the day, it is just a song that has no bearing on your patriotism for this country, right? All that makes them a coward.

I think you are the coward for trying to take away their right to do those things simply because you don't agree with them. You are trying to take away the freedoms people died for that are represented in the national anthem. You want everyone to think like you which is exactly what this country is against.

Not taking away any "rights". merely making an obvious observation about how and where and why an away venue was used--not HOME.

also--one has a "right" to talk about anything, even that which one has no idea about--RUPP in this case. but having a "right" and being ignorant or worse is the question.

I suggested "reverse racism", since no other legitimate reason for the statement about Rupp, at that time can be opined.

WHY comment about Rupp? Why kneel at an away venue?

COWARDICE seems logical.

Again I say, Cal continues to get crucified for something that happened 2 years ago. Stoops might have gotten a little grief at the time it happened but he no longer continues to get it like Cal does. All the posts prove that regardless of forum.

As I said before, I don’t support the BLM group. I support the movement. There is a big difference. If the executives Of BLM took the donations(and it looks like some did), then they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. It’s a pretty simple concept. That isn’t the subject at hand though. The subject at hand is what this entire thread is about and that’s Keion Brooks. I simply responded to a ridiculous post that stated Brooks wasn’t a good representative of the University simply because he dare have a different view about kneeling than many members of the fan base.
And there you go again. First you move the goalposts, then you change the subject again. You said the thread is about Brooks but you made it about Stoops and I called you out for it, and now you're back to Brooks again. You're all over the place. Gene Kelly would be jealous of your tapdancing.

The cowardly thing was doing it at Florida instead of at home - where Cal knew they wouldn't have gotten away with it. It was disrespectful to Florida too.

By the way, Kaepernick, who compared the NFL to slavery, is now trying to get a job there again. Do you agree with this con artist fraud's earlier statement about the NFL or with his actions now?

Aww its cute when you try. They knelt at Florida because it was their first game (01/09) after the Capitol riot (01/06). Florida had players kneel as well. All this information is readily available if you would take 10 seconds to use google.

I think Kaepernick is an idiot but not because he knelt. My point was the kneeling started initially because of a recommendation by a military veteran.

I would never let a celebrity/sports figure influence my opinion and I would never shun someone for not having the same views as myself. If I did, I would have to disown half my family. Research a subject and form your own opinion, simple as that.

And they didn't kneel when they got back home.

You're seriously trying to connect Jan 6 with the kneeling? Now that one of the so-called traitors has been acquitted because he proved that the cops LET THEM IN THE BUILDING, watch for the rest of them to get acquitted for the same reason. That whole incident was a fraud and thus so was the kneeling.

I noticed you dodged the question on Kaep. Typical. He knelt originally because he knew he was about to be cut and needed something to get attention. Jussie Smollett simply copied his strategy and used a slightly different technique. Both are frauds.

I didn't dodge anything. I said Kaep was an idiot but it didn't have anything to do with his kneeling. He sat for the anthem first and began kneeling because a military vet suggested it because it was more respectful to kneel than sit.

Again, google is your friend. Plenty of quotes out there that state the team knelt that day because of Jan. 6. Many of the players who knelt had family in the military and those quotes are out there as well.

I am not surprised you are defending Jan. 6. That is the least surprising thing in this entire discussion. You got a little cheeto dust on your face from kissing Trumps butt that you might want to wipe off.

Let's add another ignorant jackass to the ignore list. Congrats to you Sir.

I call 'em as I see 'em. Your latest post (and other recent ones as well) has a very obvious bias. You're quick to call out the Cal critics but you let his defenders slide. You're welcome to clear that up, but I see you making no effort to do so. You don't get away with claiming to be the man in the middle here.
It's quite simple.

There are maybe a total of 3 "defenders" that are behaving like asshats. The rest of the "defenders" have good points and don't lower themselves to the level of name calling and berating.

There are easily 60+ (maybe more) "haters" that are behaving like asshats. Many of those people make good points, but their delivery is just awful. They can't seem to be able to hold a discussion without name calling, berating anyone that doesn't agree with them, or in a non-derogatory/non-inflammatory way.

I am not letting "defenders" slide for the same **** behavior you and your crew are doing, day in, day out, hourly, thread after thread after thread. There just aren't even close to as many of them as there are the others (in fact, if you look a little bit harder, you'll find where I have in fact poked at them - Ed, kybassfan and JFCats - those are the three most aggressive and frequent "defenders" whose style is also inflammatory/derogatory towards "haters"). But what's funny? If you knew anything about the board folks that have been here for a while, you'd know that JFCats - someone you firmly believe is a "hater" - is one of the most ardently negative dudes in game threads. That guy bitches and moans about Cal, his style, failures, etc., literally all game - even in games where we've blown out huge opponents (I've regularly called him our resident Debbie Downer). kybassfan - well, that dude is always negative, seems to hate everyone, regardless of your position on this Calipari debate. So I just look at him and think "whatever, dude...". Ed3232323 or something like that - he's a tough one. He sunshine pumps like good old HerrosHeroes used to be notorious for, is very regularly calm and shows respect for other fans, but at the same time can flip and run off a set of 50 in-thread arguments laced full of derogatory "moron", "idiot" names. I'm in here a lot reading and I have a good grasp on who handles themselves in an uninviting manner vs. those that are easy to talk to. So far, aside from some random trolls popping in defending Cal that I see once in a while, the three above are the only ones that I regularly see from the "defender" side that uses the same poor tact that nearly all of the anti-Cal side uses.

When you are the loudest and most obnoxious by far, it just seems to you that only you and your crew are getting poked at. There are more of you Cal-has-to-go types with debate tactics that drop to the level of bullies than there are the other extreme saying Cal should definitely stay forever. Just my observation.

And yes, I'm dead in the middle and any number of people here that have seen me posting over the years knows this ( @Cawood86 ). I am fed up with Cal's inability to evolve with today's game. I was fed up 3-4 years ago with this one-and-one schtick (and was VERY vocal about it). I'm tired of his excuses and inability to change or get away from this NBA style crap offense/defense, but not quite yet on the "fire him" bandwagon. I guess let's just say I have 1-2 years of "patience" left in the tank. However, at no point do I ever want to be the kind of classless fan that many here have been this past 2 weeks, regardless of which side of the debate I end up on.

He is definitely an off the bench limited minutes guy. Too inconsistent and not strong enough. For some reason Cal had a lovefest for Brooks. Would have loved to see more of Toppin than so much of Brooks. Can't believe the NBA feedback will be good. I noticed he never said goodbye or expressed his appreciation to the fans. My guess he is GONE.
The trouble with Toppin is he stays hurt, it has derailed his first 2 seasons here. I want a muscular banger out of the portal to play the 4 next year.

Wow, you speak native Smoove. 😲 Was that a 4 year course or doctoral program?

You shouldn't have any trouble conversing with those lost Amazonian tribes after this. 👌🏼
Thank You. Guess you missed what OP initially posted. “What is your thoughts. Will go he pro or transfer somewhere else for his last season”.
