Any chance we can get him a job with a brick mason over the summer? Toughen up those hands a little and he could be a beast.

Good luck to Brooks. I've already seen that movie play out. Excited for a new and fresh perspective

He is definitely an off the bench limited minutes guy. Too inconsistent and not strong enough. For some reason Cal had a lovefest for Brooks. Would have loved to see more of Toppin than so much of Brooks. Can't believe the NBA feedback will be good. I noticed he never said goodbye or expressed his appreciation to the fans. My guess he is GONE.

How many times have you guys whined your *** off that we have no upperclassmen? Y’all need to hope to the heavens that he comes back or you’re just a walking contradiction.
He was an upperclassmen this year that played like a Freshman. Notice how everyone wants Jacob Toppin back for his 4th season. There’s a reason people want Toppin and don’t want Brooks.

Yeah freshman go into Allen Fieldhouse and put up 27 points lol. I swear most people posting here do so on multiple accounts, cause that many people can’t be that bad at player evaluation. Guy is above average player who is an upperclassmen. You invite players like Brooks back with open arms anytime.

I have it on good authority that we fans have no voice at all. Cal will do whatever he wants. So if Cal recruits over Brooks that's on him, not us.

Even though he put his name in for now, I can’t see him getting drafted. He’s a bit of a tweener who’s undersized at the 4, but lacks the quickness and handles to play the 3. Also, most of his production comes basically as a streak shooter, just on mid to long range 2’s rather than 3’s. All that averages out to a useful college player even if the inconsistency is frustrating, but it’s not really a skillset that I see the NBA having much interest in.

As for where he ends up assuming it’s not the NBA, that’s anyone’s guess. It would be nice to actually have a contributing senior on the team, and it would seem to make the most sense to me for him to return since I don’t necessarily see him getting a better opportunity by transferring, but we’ve had trouble keeping guys like him from going to G-League/overseas route so far in the Cal era, so nothing would surprise me.

I would like to have him back. He was frustrating at times but I think he can have a good year and help win some games. Given the uncertainty of our roster maybe we don’t try to run off decent guys that actually want to play here.

That was an atypical performance. Trust me that’s the Keion Brooks we all wanted to see. But that’s just not who he is. The fact that you think a player can be evaluated on a single performance shows how absolutely bereft of knowledge you are on the topic. Btw, I’ve been posting on here under this name for 8 years buddy, this is my only account.

I‘m guessing he is testing the waters to see what he needs to work on and will then transfer to a school that gives him the best chance to improve those things. I will welcome him back or wish him well. He has been a good teammate the entire time he was here. He has had his ups and downs in games but he hasn’t been in any sort of trouble and has always seemed to work as hard as he could.

I find it hilarious that he’s going through the pre-draft process to get feedback yet again.

The dude got feedback last year, was told what areas he needed to improve, and turned out to be the same player this year. So either his comprehension isn’t there, his work ethic isn’t there, or he just isn’t that talented.

Show me an NBA ‘3’ that can’t hit threes or dribble. I’ll wait.

Did he actually go through it last year? I thought you could only test the waters one time. Did they change that rule? I thought Cal only made calls on his behalf last year but he never actually worked out for teams because of the one time rule.

I’m not sure... but even if it was just phone calls, do you not think NBA teams were honest about his potential?

For that matter, it isn’t as though you need to be an NBA GM or scout to recognize what areas he is deficient in.

I don’t disagree but a physical workout is vastly different than phone calls or watching tape. The teams dictate what to do and when. Those results could be incredibly different.

Smart people would want them both back. Dumb people would want 1 of 2. Which one are you?

I would love to have him back. He just averaged over 10+ ppg and 4+ rpg. Senior leader. A decent defender that had 21 blocks and 23 steals. Why would anyone NOT want this guy back?
I’d rather not have him back. His defense is terrible. From the Duke game to Notre Dame to St. Peter’s. Getting beat to the block for layups and not even close

Getting corrected by the staff during games and then yelling back

Taking shots he can’t make in crucial times. Cal gave him the ball with less than a minute to go against St Peters instead of Oscar

He won’t be any better simply because he is a year older.
