Matt has a certain set of skills and knowledge base, but there are many things outside his wheelhouse…I can relate.

Successfully pushed flight back to Saturday to try and avoid ice storm debacle (no gyero).

Tipping/service charge is kinda weird here. They hit you with 15% service charge and then expect you to tip on top of that. Some people next to us suggest tipping 10% on the food and liquor, but not including service charge and VAT.

Gyero world travelers, what say you?

One of the great parts of travel, particularly in the days of social media, is the ability to post pictures and stories that make everyone else you know jealous. It's uncanny how drxman always seems to do the opposite. He's at a 5-star resort in the Bahamas slamming drinks and soaking up sunshine in 80-degree weather, and somehow he makes that seem awful.

Bill Belichick sending a text to the wrong person is one of my biggest fears. Along with thinking the mute is on during a zoom and I say something I shouldn’t.

Taking a call from my wife during the work day, finishing it, immediately taking another call and absentmindedly dropping a “love you too” at the end of that call is a big fear of mine.

I don't get Flores's angle on this one. He got fired after 3 years and didn't get an HC job immediately and now he's saying it's racist? Does he not want to work in the NFL again?

I'd be pretty pissed too if I were Flores. Interviews in Denver and ownership shows up an hour late and hungover. Has an interview with the Giants and they'd already hired the replacement.

Flores included in his complaint tons of details about things that have nothing to do with him or race in general. Just airing dirty laundry.

In addition, how do Bill Belichick’s texts prove anything about the timing or the reasons for the NYG’s hiring decision?

Despite this, Flores portrayed as a hero by the usual sportswriters.

Yes Belichick meant to send the texts to Daboll and not Flores. But Belichick is not the Giants. How is what he said evidence of anything?

Well Brady has his hair done, is 100% on TRT like LeBron, Tiger and everyone else playing pro sports for two decades at that level, possibly low dose hgh when testing permits, air conditioning, private planes vs busses and a million other reasons. Makes total sense and everyone should follow his lead probably.

As I understood it, the text was meant for someone else who they had already hired. Flores interview hadn't taken place yet. It was a token interview.
I think there's a good chance race plays a factor in hiring decisions. But they have to use something other than "the amount of black head coaches doesn't reflect the racial makeup on the field" nonsense. Look at the two coaches in the Super Bowl. The last time a coach who played in the NFL led a team to the super bowl was 2017. It’s not really related.

Of course it’s not related. It shouldn’t be. The league shouldn’t be 85% black coaches based on population. The population of blacks is like 12-14%. If you’re doing that than about a 1/3 of the coaches should be Hispanic or something.

That argument is so tired. There should be more but in no way should any race have or supposed to be a certain percentage of the population, that makes no sense in any business setting.

No way they take Stoops right now. He’s not a “Michigan guy” firstly but would recruit the hell out of there I’ll give you that.

Maine- Acadia, also beginning of App Trail up that way, some great canoeing, but Bar Harbor if you're going for seaside recs.
Rhode Island- Newport- Don't need more than a day to tour, pricey accommodations in town but gets more reasonable about a half hour down the coast...Providence is a dump, avoid. Block Island, drink on ferry over tool around downtown, maybe tour the island.
Cape Cod- Chatham- good spot- halfway to Provincetown for some people watching and day drinking, close to Hyannis, take ferry over to Martha's Vineyard, spend a couple days if you can.
Boston- you're probably flying in there, no recs but I'd go north first, come all the way down to RI and then head back to Boston.

- Maine is absolutely awesome. Portla
- So much good hoops on tonight. Bama/Auburn, KU/Iowa State in Ames, and Tech/Texas in Lubbock. That last one should be fun, because as WCC's link showed, TT fans absolutely loathe Beard right now. That's good for college basketball, as long as there are no mustard bottles being thrown by the Tech faithful.

- I thought Porter Moser was a weird hire for Oklahoma, and wondered if his run at Loyola was simply because of that big Krautwig kid. But even with a weird roster, he's beaten some good teams and they've been right there in losses to other good teams. So who knows maybe the sooners will win?

- Can't imagine I'll watch too much of the Winter Olympics simply because it bumps up against college hoops, but I'm down for anything that doesn't involve judges' scoring. Give me something where the opponent is a clock, a target, or an actual opponent, and I'm good. Short-track speed skating is pretty fun to watch. And I'll catch American hockey because the roster includes last year's first-round pick by MY Seattle Kraken.

- New England recs for an early summer trip sans kids? Bar Harbor has been the default leader, but I'm up for any other suggestions.

- In Maine, I thought Portland was really cool. Not a big town but good sized. Then a small town like Bath. Take a ferry, get out on the water. Eat a ton of lobster rolls.

- In Boston, obviously Fenway. I love Beacon Hill. We stayed in the Back Bay close to Boston Commons. Walkable city.

- Newport Rhode Island is gorgeous- sail boats everywhere. We hit some public beach that was really charming.

- I’ve heard amazing things about Cape Cod.

They'd be idiots to not hire Urban.
Not that Urban wouldn’t do it, but can you imagine yourself or any of us here, taking the UL coaching job when we can take others?

You’d scorch the earth of everything you ever did in ohio. On second thought, that’s exactly what that guy would do.

Is Urban they Pitino of football? Wouldn’t put it past him.

I personally would rather be poor than associate myself with UL. Seems like a better option.
