Certainly not here to fawn over Calipari and act like all is well with the Program. It's not. It's a great place for UK fans to talk and exchange thoughts and ideas about the Program. It's a place to ferret out news and commentary that might be backchanneled before hitting other news media outlets. Those type of things. How about you...why are you here?
I’m here because I’m actually happy and enjoy Kentucky basketball.

None of your business? Are you trying to round up people and put them in "Wrongthink Jail?"
I don’t like golf. At all. It’s boring and it’s weird to me. I just don’t like it. It doesn’t make me happy. So I don’t go to golf message boards ever. It’s puzzling to me why people frequent places that showcase something they hate. It was a simple question I asked him. I certainly didn’t ask you

Absolutely...as long as he out talents the competition. Now the OAD doesn't work like it used to...see the results post-2015. He either can't coach, won't coach, or too stubborn to adjust to the condition in which he finds himself and a condition into which he's dragged the Program. He's stuck on WHOLESALE OAD which he probably thinks he invented and perfected so his ego won't allow him to give up on it. The game and recruiting has adjusted to his early success and has caught up with him and now he can't out-recruit the competition for the best one-year players. Our best players now are transfers. Of course, IF he made adjustments to "wholesale" OAD and actually recruited a mixture of OAD and good multi-year talent, who could fault him for that? He's still stuck on trying to make wholesale OAD work but the true OAD-type talent is committing to other schools now. He's going to have to adjust or continue to lead UK into lower levels of mediocrity. Criticizing fans like myself who hold this opinion won't change reality. It might make you feel better but it won't change things. Cal doesn't care about wins and losses beyond how they may affect draft status. He's said these things himself. So who wins and who loses? Certainly not the Program, Tradition, nor the Fans...not if you truly care about Championships and sustaining a great college basketball tradition. Unless you're blind...the recent results speak for themselves. Do I wish it were different? Well...yes I do but I'm not so deluded to ignore reality and "wish" it weren't so. I hope he can fix the mess he's created but I don't think he's wired to do it...for many other reasons.
So I gather that you like veterans mixed in with your OAD talent…..you gotta love the team this year then right?

I like Washington (OAD), Collins that will probably declare and will not be ready but will choose the get paid to learn in the G League (No real benefit to UK if that happens), I like Hopkins who should be a multi-year player who could develop into something special but under Cal's direction will "test" the NBA waters and then who knows who gets into his ear? Best for him to stay but very likely to go too soon, who knows? Mintz, Wheeler, Brooks...I don't like much at all. These are the type of players who must pinch themselves and can't believe they somehow ended up playing for school like UK. Oscar...love him and should have been here day one but will be gone after this year (pretty sure he's a junior)...but gone. Ware was recruited into the Program...he's OK more of role player and that's fine. Toppin was a good find and do like his game and potential. Grady was a good get and can win lots of games for many reasons besides shooting. I like Allen because he's got loads of potential but Cal punishes him to punish the fans who would like to see him succeed (or at least get the same chance given to Brooks) at his home state school. As you can see, building the program from one year to the next to create consistency doesn't really exist here. Cals recruiting is in panic mode all the time. It's hard to imagine what next years team is gonna look like...no one knows...not even Cal. It's impossible to sustain the Program winning standards consistently over time with this approach...not gonna happen. One year in college is not enough for any player to learn how to play the game and this is evident in looking at UK players who only begin to succeed in the League after three or four years. That said, under Cal's system...what's the benefit for UK if not to win Titles. I think it's obvious that winning Titles is not necessarily the goal. Once the majority of fans realize this in larger numbers, and that's happening now, they will be done with him and he won't be able to get out of town fast enough.

12 days since the OP. Cal plays sharpe or the heat will be so much he will be shopping for an nba team to take him. We all know what happens when the fan base turns on a coach. It’s very close cal is on the brink but at the same time he can return from the brink. No sharpe this year and sharpe leaves 0 and done and cal is done. Barney too

That's good, be happy and enjoy. Of course, you're suggesting I'm not happy and don't enjoy UK basketball. Just like many things, those distinctions aren't black and white. I love UK basketball...always have, from day one. Been here a long time. I've seen many coaches come and go since Rupp. What I've seen from Calipari is some aberration from everything that has gotten us to where we have always been and the tradition we have always enjoyed. So no, I don't enjoy Calipari in charge of the Program I hold dear. It you want to see your kids and family to be able to enjoy UK basketball in the years to come, we, as fans, should be good stewards of the Program and speak up if we believe necessary. Some will actually voice their protest and others will stop attending games and then there are others that will never know the difference from today and the way it once was. I choose the speak out but not without a reason. Those who simply want those like me to shut up must be frustrated...I can understand that. If some see me as "stirring the ****"...for no reason other than to *****, I would say no not really. All I'm saying is IMO, if you love your Program and Tradition of UK basketball, you should be very careful to whom you entrust its care and you should also understand the motives of those to whom the care is entrusted.

Actually ... it wasn't yes or no. To have treated it as a "yes or no" question would have required I play your moronic and simplistic game by your rules. I don't do that...not sorry. You asked and that was my answer. Didn't get anything off my chest that I haven't done many times before you. Enjoy the season as best you can.

I’ve played and been around basketball my whole life and never heard of specific basketball offenses. So I guess I am asking for an example of what it is you are wanting to hear. Seems like a reasonable suggestion.
  • Motion Offenses.
  • Set Offenses.
  • Read and React Offense.
  • Dribble Drive Offense.
  • Pick and Roll Offense.
  • John Wooden's UCLA Offense.
  • Princeton Offense.
  • Patterned Offense.

The announcers said the game before last that Sharpe was going to redshirt???? This may be the reason he isn't playing. One entry into the game and he loses a year of eligibility.
Why in the world would a projected lottery pick redshirt? People can't honestly think he will exhaust all of his eligibility in college.

...He should be fired.

Sharpe is the best recruit we've had in a long time and we clearly need another guard.

There is ZERO excuse not to play him at least 10 minutes per game to see what he can do.

Don't give me that lousy 'fitness' excuse. He doesn't have to play 39 minutes. He can contribute and I'm sure he's better than Hopkins/Collins/Allen/Ware three of whom have been playing during those minutes where our lead shrinks.

Don't give me that lousy 'BuT hE nEeDs To LeArN TeH OfFenSe!' excuse unless you can actually articulate what offense we currently run other than GOOOOOOOOOOOOO! RUUUUUUUUUUUN!

Don't give me that lousy 'but he needs to learn defense' excuse after I just mentioned Hopkins/Collins/Allen/Ware.

On the other hand, if Cal plays Sharpe NOW and he gets integrated into the lineup and starts contributing, even as little as 8/4 a game in, say, 15 minutes, we could be a FF team THIS YEAR.

Hopefully Cal is just keeping his cards close but IMHO Sharpe should be playing next week.

But I'm suspicious that Cal doesn't want him to play for fear of Sharpe exploding and making Cal look bad because he didn't get to 'train' him first.
How does it feel to be looked at as knowing nothing about basketball?

So having an extra guard might have helped? Wonder what would happen if we had Sharpe playing in another situation like that. We might actually win the game. In March.

Thanks for making my point for me.
What point. Haven’t seen anything you posted making an intelligent point.

😂😂😂 this dude talks so much 💩.

The Cal brigade is filled with so much hate. The first ones to stoop to name calling every time.

Using the one psychology class I took in college, I know that people who have to insult others during a discussion are the ones that are overly insecure about their own intellect.

Praying for you Turkey.
You and Low country need the prayers to help soothe the resentment you have for Cal. How do you feel about Trump compared to Biden?

He won't be fired, of course. But it would be grossly irresponsible if he doesn't play. This team is borderline NCAA 5-7 seed right now. If he plays we could be a 2.
You have no idea how he will play and fit in with the current team. Emoni Bates at Memphis was supposed to be the next LeBron and you see how that has worked out this year for Memphis. Should Penny not have recruited him. He may turn out to be a great pro but he is not very good in college. How would Penny know that? It is a big adjustment from high school to college. I would think you would be smart enough to know that. Evidently not.

You are getting goofier with each passing day. Give the kid a chance to acclimate and then see what happens. He will play but when Cal decides, not you. No one wants to win more than Cal except for maybe, me.

An honest question here. The kids are part of the actual program. Isn't it a good thing Cal looks out for the best interest of the players? If it's in Sharpe's best interest AND the team's best interest (and the program's best interest) to play, he will. Looking out for the player's best interest helps the program, and also helps recruiting. I would rather have a coach that does right by his players, because it's the right thing to do. Players = Team = Program. It's not Kids > Program.

All that being said, my guess is we'll see Sharpe play this season because it is (or soon will be) in the best interest of all the above.
Your bullish estimate fell flat.

The combination of Sharpe not playing and this team losing before the Final Four could make for Cal's longest summer yet.

Lots of pressure on Cal to deliver between now and the first week of April.

Cal don’t have pressure he got a lifetime contract and plenty of support. It’s the exact opposite of pressure. Some say that’s an actual problem.

It’s fine by me but there isn’t any real pressure regardless of what happens this year with anything

*We have the number one recruiting class with the number one player in the nation coming in next year....
*Averaging 9th most points per game in the nation
*The 3rd place assist leader in the nation....
*The number one rebounder and leading candidate for NPOY....
*Second place in SEC
*A head coach that is second all time in wins at UK with a 77% winning percentage while there.

This is one of the most exciting, enjoyable, hard working and likable UK teams ever.
You either haven't been watching, don't know Jack Sh** about basketball, are still crapping your pants over Cal's politics or all of the above.

He never will be, but when Sharpe declares for the draft, you'll see the tension ratcheting up. What he did was irresponsible; he used UK for his own gain and lied to people.
What you say may indeed come to pass, and if it does there will be a lot of anger in the fan base. I have to say that your statement about the kid using UK for his own gain is CONJECTURE at this point. Also flatly calling him a liar is over the line man. You can’t list a single shred of evidence to back up that statement. So far the kid has done EXACTLY what he said he was going to do before he came here. Practice with the team and get to know Cals system was his stated goal. Explain to me what he has done or said since he has been here that would warrant you calling him a liar right now.

I don't owe you ANY explanation. Who the fk are you?

But if it turns out that he KNEW Sharpe was eligible for the draft THIS year, then yes he lied to the public and to UK.

And he DID know that Sharpe wasn't going to play this season, because he said it in an interview when Sharpe joined the team. Yet Cal continues to tease and say "If he's ready I'll put him in." That makes him a liar. He has NO intention of playing Sharpe and he already stated that. It's actually odd that he can't keep track of his own statements.
